Chapter 291 - Chapter 291: Gringotts Standard Job (Part 5)

To keep their identities hidden, none of the Father Troubleshooters used their signature spells.

Even so, when it came to combat prowess, they were not something this bunch of ordinary wizarding guards could ever compare to.

"Striking Shadow Snake Stock!"

Countless poisonous snakes burst out from Cedric's sleeves, lunging straight toward the many guards ahead.

Kyle reached into his pocket and casually scooped up a paper talisman with the character "Boom" written in the center.

Slapping the Explosive Tag onto one of the venomous snakes, Kyle formed a single-handed seal once they closed in on the enemies.

"Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags!"

A sudden burst of fiery light instantly swallowed the enemy. The hundreds of continuously detonating Explosive Tags tore open their defensive magic while simultaneously shattering their formation into pieces.

While Kyle had exercised restraint with the Ministry Aurors outside, he held no such misgivings when dealing with these wizards selling their lives for Gringotts.

Kyle had always been deeply curious about why, after the historical wars between wizards and goblins—where wizards were clearly the victorious side—wizards were willing to hand over something as vital as finance, the very lifeblood of a nation, for goblins to manage.

This level of behavior could no longer be described merely as "stupid."

Kyle could not tolerate such a situation existing at all.

What's more, after holding financial power in the Wizarding World for thousands of years, these goblins had grown increasingly arrogant, gradually beginning to lord themselves over wizards.

Just look at the counters in the Gringotts main hall.

The goblins sat behind counters nearly two men tall, looking down on every wizard who came to do business, forcing those wizards to raise their heads and look up at them.

As the defeated party, who gave them permission to adopt such a high-and-mighty attitude?

Ever since Dumbledore took him to Gringotts to withdraw money for the first time, Kyle had found them immensely eyesore.

That was precisely why—even though he could have quietly snuck into Gringotts this time and retrieved Voldemort's Horcrux completely undetected—he insisted on launching such a high-profile, grand assault on Gringotts instead.

He wanted to shatter the very defensive measures the goblins of Gringotts took the utmost pride in, ripping off their faces and trampling them beneath his boots.

Against these wizards risking their lives for the goblins, Kyle's strikes were ruthless without a shred of hesitation.

Under the overwhelming magical power of an Obscurial, even a ordinary Disarming Charm could turn from "Expelliarmus" into "Ex-pel-your-life-us," let alone the Blasting Curses Kyle was unleashing, which carried an even higher level of destructive power.

Even if an ordinary wizard managed to cast a Super-Protego Charm, it would be impossible to withstand Kyle's spell barrage, to say nothing of the standard Shield Charms they were using.

Once the four Father Troubleshooters joined the fray, the battlefield in Diagon Alley tipped almost instantly into a complete one-sided rout.

Amidst the continuous roar of explosions, the personnel on Gringotts' side were vanishing at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Even those goblins who valued gold more than their own lives finally felt terror at this moment.

"Run! Flee!" an elderly goblin who looked like a manager shrieked at the top of his lungs.

At his screech, the goblins who had been hiding behind the guard wizards and loudly ordering them to charge to their deaths also began fleeing one after another.

Originally, they had taken it for granted that even if the enemy came prepared, there were only six people inside Gringotts; they would surely be taken down swiftly so the stolen treasure could be reclaimed.

They never expected that the power of those six individuals would prove far greater than their entire group of over a hundred people combined.

It seemed those gleaming treasures were never going to be taken back from their hands.

If they continued to throw away their lives for treasure that was destined never to be recovered, it would be even less worth it.

Now, their only desperate hope was that because the robbers were in too much of a hurry, they hadn't managed to take away too much wealth from Gringotts.

After wiping out the forces on Gringotts' side, the Father Troubleshooters quickly regrouped with the Saints.

Standing on the roof of Gringotts and gazing at Diagon Alley, which had been torn completely apart, a curl of a smile appeared at the corner of Kyle's lips.

He turned his head to look at George and Fred. "After this little stunt of ours, real estate prices in Diagon Alley are going to drop to dirt-cheap levels. Have you two considered buying a shop?"

George and Fred's eyes lit up, and they were just about to speak when Cedric cut them off in annoyance.

"Is this really the appropriate occasion to discuss that sort of thing? Hurry up and get ready to run!"

Saying that, Cedric climbed onto the back of the Ukrainian Ironbelly that had been guarding the vaults for Gringotts.

The dragon had already been placed under magical control by Kyle; using the dragon to escape was one of the getaway plans they had drawn up early on.

The Saints pulled out the broomsticks they had prepared long in advance, taking off a step ahead of the Father Troubleshooters.

The remaining three Father Troubleshooters also climbed onto the dragon's back. Before commanding the dragon to take flight, Kyle didn't forget to pull out his wand and launch a spell into the sky—the "Morsmordre" that everyone in the British Wizarding World was all too familiar with.

This was the mark that Voldemort's Death Eaters would always leave at the scene after carrying out a terrorist attack back in the day.

As the spell exploded in midair, a massive, glowing green skull slowly took shape in the sky, with a hideous and terrifying serpent slithering out from the skull's gaping mouth—a truly revolting sight.

Frame-ups and false accusations really were quite enjoyable.

The smirk on Kyle's lips grew distinctly wider.

Though... as for why the vaults raided by the Death Eaters belonged mostly to those notoriously former Death Eater families, that might be a bit tricky to explain.

Ah well, who cares anyway.

Time to move!

After the dragon flapped its wings and soared into the sky, George looked back at Diagon Alley with a somewhat anxious expression. "Aren't those guys leaving yet?"

Zetsu and those six mysterious companions collectively known as Pain were still down in Diagon Alley maintaining the Four Violet Flames Formation without leaving.

"Don't worry about them," Kyle replied without even turning his head. "They have their own ways to get out."

What George and the others didn't know was that by the time the four of them emerged from the underground vaults of Gringotts, Black and White Zetsu had long since used the Mayfly Technique to burrow deep into the earth and escape.

The coverage depth of the Four Violet Flames Formation was limited to ten meters underground—a depth that was practically non-existent to White Zetsu.

In the time they spent battling Gringotts, Black Zetsu had likely already made it several dozen kilometers away.

With Black Zetsu providing backup, it was trivial for the Six Paths of Pain to escape Diagon Alley; a single Summoning Technique was all it would take to make them vanish from the battlefield.

The only reason the Six Paths of Pain remained behind to maintain the Four Violet Flames Formation was to buy a bit of extra time for the retreat of the Father Troubleshooters and the Saints.

The Anti-Disapparition Ward had a certain height limitation, though neither the dragon nor standard broomsticks could reach that altitude.

Because that height required ascending nearly into the stratosphere near the mesosphere; flying up another thirty kilometers or so would pretty much break through the Kármán line and enter sub-orbital flight.

What kind of bloody broomstick could fly that high?

Yet unfortunately for their pursuers, the Father Troubleshooters possessed Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles—no, Intercontinental Ballistic Broomsticks.

Riding the dragon and standard broomsticks right now was merely to throw people off their scent; they intended to switch over to the Lightning-series broomsticks once they reached an altitude where the Aurors on the ground couldn't see clearly.

Otherwise, given how the Lightning series looked so suspiciously like a missile, those Aurors would memorize its shape at a single glance, even from afar.
