Chapter 149 - Turned Into Gacha?! - 149

"Hello, you've reached Tawara Talent Agency."

As soon as the call connected, a capable and steady woman's voice came through, sounding like she was in her thirties or forties, her tone carrying clear professional confidence.

"Hello, I'm the promotional events coordinator for Monica."

Amber followed the script.

However, no immediate response came from the other end.

Amber, initially a bit puzzled, quickly realized something was wrong when she saw Origami's hesitant expression.

Right now, she was in the body of the twelve-year-old Durandal. Although Schicksal, and indeed all major factions, knew she was actually seventeen, that information was only circulated among those aware of the truth about Spacequakes—essentially, those involved with the Spirits.

In other words, it was impossible for a civilian company to know about this.

The agent on the other end was indeed uncertain.

The voice coming through the speaker sounded very young, leading her to guess it was probably around the same age as her own child.

But having dealt with all sorts of people, she naturally knew some adults could have rather childlike voices.

Plus, this was her office line, and the caller had clearly introduced themselves regarding work matters—it likely wasn't a prank call.

Thinking this, and considering the caller mentioned Monica... Was it that Monica?

The jewelry upstart from twenty years ago that, through unique designs and formidable connections and financial backing, had skyrocketed into the luxury brand tier within just over a decade, rivaling even established legacy houses in prestige.

It wasn't that strange, really. Jewelry and luxury goods were fundamentally inflated by capital-driven hype.

If you had the connections and deep pockets, even if your designs were ugly, you could market them as 'exclusive high-end luxury for a niche clientele.'

Besides, Monica's designs were far from ugly; they were actually famous for their dreamlike, fairy-tale themes.

"Are you looking to collaborate with us on promotional activities? Our agency has a rich history in the Japanese talent industry, spanning sixty years. We've essentially witnessed the rise and evolution of Japan's entertainment world..."

The caller must have some interest in collaboration, but even so, proper courtesy and a competitive attitude were still necessary.

"Yes, I'm calling in hopes of arranging a face-to-face meeting with your talent, Izayoi Miku."

Amber wasn't particularly interested in all that and went straight to the point.

"Oh... Izayoi... Huh? Izayoi Miku?"

The agent had assumed the caller wanted to invest in their newly returned, heavily promoted starlet fresh from filming in Hollywood.

She hadn't expected to hear that name.

Izayoi Miku was a rising star she'd scouted two years ago.

She firmly believed Miku had even greater potential than their current top newcomer once she officially debuted. But since Miku was still a student, she could only operate as a semi-debuted school idol.

However, no matter how bright the future seemed, the agent knew it was still just potential. Why would someone already be taking notice of Izayoi Miku so soon?

Though puzzled, she knew it wasn't her place to ask directly. "Of course. May I ask when and where you'd like to meet?"

"Hmm... Preferably right now, at Hiroyama Stadium would work."

"...Pardon?"

Right now? So urgent? Hiroyama Stadium... sounded familiar... Wasn't that the venue for Miku's performance today?

If she didn't pick up on the implications now, she'd have no business being in this industry.

Her voice unconsciously lowered a notch. "Might I ask where you are currently...?"

"I'm at Hiroyama Stadium right now."

Amber's reply wasn't unexpected.

The agent was starting to get the picture: the caller's age probably matched her voice—a young child from a family with significant influence at Monica, visiting Tengu City and who'd just become a fan of Miku.

But... could a child really make decisions about collaborations? Even if she agreed and signed something, it wouldn't be legally binding.

Despite these thoughts, the agent wasn't about to let this opportunity slip.

No matter what, this girl was connected to Monica. Even if this turned out to be a false start, at least a connection was made. No opportunity now, but what about later?

Of course, that was the best-case scenario. The worst case was that this was just some brat who got hold of the number, lying about her identity to meet an idol.

But... the concert wasn't until the afternoon anyway, there was plenty of time. Meeting with a young girl wouldn't hurt.

"I understand. Where are you currently? Are you alone? You can tell me your location, and I'll have a staff member come meet you."

"Not alone. I'm with my subord— my maid."

Amber glanced around, spotting the fountain in the middle of the plaza not far away. "We're at the plaza fountain. I have golden hair, and my maid has white hair, wearing a blue and white maid uniform."

Golden hair? Excellent! A maid? Even better!

Knowing the girl was a foreigner and had a maid, the agent's face broke into a smile, her tone softening further.

"Understood. I'll notify our staff immediately. Please wait there for a moment. We do apologize for the inconvenience."

"It's fine. Our last-minute request didn't give you any time to prepare, so please don't worry about it."

Amber nodded.

She's quite reasonable, and surprisingly understanding for her age. Must be a child from a very well-bred family. Even if not from a major dynasty, the upbringing is certainly exceptional.

"Thank you for your understanding!"

The agent's smile widened. After a few more brief pleasantries, she hung up and immediately speed-dialed Miku's line, quickly explaining the situation.

"You're saying a little golden-haired girl is coming, with a white-haired maid?"

Miku's eyes sparkled as she latched onto the key details.

Agent: "..."

"I know you prefer female fans, but this is different. Monica is a globally renowned luxury jewelry brand. Remember to tone it down a bit later, alright?"

Miku: "..." Isn't the usual advice to be more enthusiastic?

"Don't worry, I'm great with girls. You know that, right?"

Miku crossed her legs, twirling a strand of hair that fell near her temple with her index finger, her tone relaxed and composed, without a trace of nervousness.

This unflappable confidence was precisely why her agent was convinced she'd reach the pinnacle of the industry.

Peerless singing voice and beauty, combined with her extraordinary affinity with women, meant Miku's fanbase was remarkably unified and loyal. It also prevented the kind of jealousy-driven smear campaigns that could happen in female fan circles.

To the agent, this was the holy grail—a born idol, a deity straight out of ancient Greece meant for stardom.

"Anyway... just be sure to keep it appropriate, understood?"

Thinking that, the agent didn't press further. She trusted Miku to handle the situation with her usual finesse.

"Don't worry. When it comes to girls... I'm always gentle."
