Chapter 2:The Crimson Pact
Okinawa had the same situation as Tokyo did.There were several bombs dropped near Toru's house.The exact room where all his research on medicine and chemistry got blown up. He was furious.
"All because of that damn crow."He spat on the floor and walked outside to see no sun in the sky.The weather became colder because the smoke and ash of the fire had clogged up the skies. It was so thick and dense that it blocked out the sun,causing the sun to get blocked.
"Toru it's not your fault.You still have the knowledge in your head don't you?"Lily comforted him,holding his arm and leaning onto his shoulder.A sudden but sharp smile came out of face.
"Thanks Lily."The two looked up at the sky and resumed t0 the situation.Then an idea came to him.What if he got revenge on Kraven by making a deal with him?
"Toru..what are you thinking?Don't tell me you're killing again."
"I stuck to our deal Lily.I only kill bad people now,like the crows that are destroying the villages."
"Alright I trust you."
"But I don't trust Kraven.I want to get him back!He's delaying my research that could save your life. He practically might kill you!"
"Toru calm down,we'll resolve this,ok?"
"But how?"
"I'm not sure but we do need to defend ourselves.A part of our nice house got destroyed!I mean,imagine we were in that room,we'd probably be dead by now.I mean I would but.."
"Lily that doesn't make sense.I'm strong but I can't handle a bomb that would rip me into pieces!"
"I'm sure you could!"
BOOM!The two got split up.A loud bang erupted their ear drums.The explosion flashed before their eyes and flashed their eyes.They were temporarily blinded and deaf.
Lily's beautiful knotted dress by Toru was ripped apart.She had bruises all over her skin and that was her only injury.
On the other hand,Toru had way worse injuries. He had cuts and bruises all over his skin.His hand was ripped off.Blood poured from his wrist while bone stuck out.One of his eyes was ripped out.His shirt was completely torn off. So he was half blind and had one hand ripped off.There were a dozen crows dropping from the sky,landing onto their lawn.
"Lily get back inside."
"Toru please be careful."
"DO IT. IT'S AN ORDER."She nodded her head and rushed back inside,quietly watching through a nearby window.Toru carved a blade into the arm that was missing a hand. It acted like the one he lost. He bolted,dodging dark energy attacks.Dark bullets and slices were thrown at him,if any of them touching him his immune system would be severely wounded,especially in the current state he's in.
Toru kicked one of them and the crow landed into two other crows.That was 3 down.9 to go. He crafted an enchanted rifle into his hand and shot 3 bullets out of the barrel but all of them missed the crows.
"You got bad aim for an assassin."One of them snickered.
"Shut up,I'm not done yet."He reloaded the barrel as quickly as possible using his blade and fire again.The crows cawed in agony.The smoke of the bullet flowed across their neck.
"Look at that,three head shots!"
The remaining 6 got decapitated.
Toru dragged his dying fragile body into a bath tub inside his fractured house.Before he could even turn the tap on,blood filled the bath already.
"Toru,my dear!You're losing blood like crazy!Let me look for some bandages."She scattered around the house,destroying it just to find bandages for Toru. He tilted his head up at the ceiling,arms resting lifeless on each side of the bath tub. He looked as if…as if…he was ready to die right there.
"Hang in there my dear."She wrapped the bandages around his head and the arm where his hand should've been.Lily shut the door to prevent any odors from flies or crows to enter.
The two clutched hands together.Their touch resembled hope and resilience.Toru,being as strong as he is,recovered in about two days.
In those exact two days,the Genshi cleared up Kraven's droppings again.
They buffed their defences so that there would be no bombs and hosted a public meeting in the centre of Tokyo,the exact same place where the moonstone landed.
Maku instructed that Kraven was at war with Japan and if they tried any bickerish games,South Korea would fall down like a sand castle.
Of course,Kraven and Red laughed.They doubted Japan's resources due to the previous emperor being lazy but Maku wasn't going to let that slide.
As long as you were a legal citizen of Japan,you were under Maku's protection.
And as long as you were a legal citizen of South Korea,you were under Kraven and Red's control.
Actually,Red created an island called Terrence Oblivion. He ripped rocks off the coasts to form the islands using the gravitational pull from his hands
A work of art he called it.
If he could create an island,he could destroy the island as well. He attached grass and all sorts of greens and plants to the island along with a beach so that you could stare into the scarlet horizon and there was even huts for the serpents to stay on it.
Lunar had forced Isura and the Serpent Kingdom to move to Terrence Oblivion and nobody knew why.Isura with no choice had to listen to her demands.
The herd arrived.Carrying brownish sacks which I guess you could call them bags.They sweated a ton due to the lengthy walking.How could Lunar do this to her own daughter?How could she torture her?It just didn't make sense.
Toru and Lily discussed a plan to manipulate Red and Kraven.Speaking of them,they were at Terrence Oblivion,greeting sea serpents that entered the perimeter.They dragged their tired aching bodies along the sandy shore.Some collapsed even.And when Isura stepped foot on the island,she just laid there in the sand like a star fish.
"Welcome Queen Isura!"She rejected Red's handshake.
"What's with the rudeness?I molded this entire island with my bare hands JUST FOR YOU SERPENTS!"
"I normally don't great criminals and I won't proceed to do so."She snickered,unwrapping the heavy brown sack full of her personal items.
"Well…Kraven is coming soon."
"He's a criminal as well isn't he?Also this coast looks too salty to me."
"How did you know it was salt water?"
"Because I'm used to fresh water and when I smell an anomaly I know an anomaly."She slightly shoved Red of out the way and placed her hands out.
"Isura I get what it's like having to adapt.I did it myself."
"Really?"
"Yeah…it was horrible I escaped with my brother Kibo,isn't that right Kibo?"He noticed the loner in the distance,water up to his knees with rolled up blackish trousers. He showed a thumbs up to the two the two while staring down at what seemed to be his accurate reflection in the water. It acted like a mirror.
Kibo wiped is feet on the water and leapt across the sand.
"Your brother has lost his mind."Isura smiled with her vampire like teeth.Obviously they weren't real.Were they though?A vampire could be the interpretation of a blood sucking navajo with sharp teeth.And..that definitely exists.
"Ever since the-"
"Don't tell her!We haven't gotten to know her that much."
The other serpents glanced in our direction,still trying to adapt to this new environment by looking around confused of the island.
"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."
"Do you want to know?"For a second,she hesitated but finally agreed to listen to the tragedy of the brothers.
The three sat down on a few rocks near the sea.Other serpents wandered the island for food but Red reminded that aid was coming so all they had to do was wait.The serpents had previously ate the snacks they brought along the way so they had practically no food.
"It all started when we were young.Living in Shibuya at the time. It was around the time of the war of fury I think,I can't really remember that much but we were young.Lady Applejack was out mother. No information of our Father. We tried to find out about him but our mother would beat us every single time…"
"I'm sorry.."
"It's not your fault.Kibo I'll hand it to you now."
"You haven't even said that much?"
"I'm tired for goodness sake,just take over please."His eyes drifted to sleep but Isura slapped him on the back to stay away.After rubbing his eyes,Red leaned closer into the fire and paid attention to the story.The story he had to endure again.
"I can't.."Kibo stood up startled.Legs shaking like crazy.His face turned red after he tried to cover it.
"I understand your fear."
"BUT YOU DONT."
"I understand the feeling not the reason behind it."
"See Kibo?She's smart.She's an asset to us."
"Really?"
"Friend.I meant to say friend.BUT SEA SERPENTS ARE USEFUL.YOU CAN CONTROL THE SEAS!THATS POWERFUL AND USEFUL!"
"Oh I forgot to do this."
"Huh?"She placed her hands out again.Salt began to emerge from the desolate depths of the vast blue ocean.She placed all the salt to the side which left a big pile of salt.
"Exactly why I said sea serpents are useful."He pointed out literally and figuratively.
"I didn't take out all the salt in the entire sea obviously,just the coast for this island."She sat down on the rock and relaxed.Red and Kibo talked about what they were going to do to this island once the aid comes.
Hours went by.Serpents got bored.Isura got bored.The brothers got bored.Stomachs were empty and growling.
"When is it coming?"And as soon as Isura said that,a boat appeared in the distance.
"It must be Kraven."Red stood up from his position and walked over to the edge of the island.Kraven parked the boat in a nearby dock and walked off with some of his men.You see. He kept some men in south korea,some in Japan and the rest on the island,co existing with the sea serpents.
Kraven walked up to Red,hand on his mask and took it off for the first time in ages.A white scar could be seen around his eye and his skin was black and feathery like a real cursed crow and not some fraud hiding behind a mask.Kibo gazed at the scar for a few seconds until Red noticed and snapped him out of it.
Kraven strode along side the crunching sand.
He had become sick of the heat of his mask.All the built up sweat and heat was released into the open air,the chilly air of the island. It was tropical after all.A mix of hot and cold.Rainbows would often be seen from the sky if you were in the right spot of the island.
"So...who is this?"Red crossed his arms.A playful tone in his voice changed the outcome of what Kraven was going to say.
"We're making a crimson pact with this assassin over here?"
"A pact huh?A pact covered in..RED!RED IS CRIMSON RIGHT KIBO?!"
"Yes it is."Kibo knelt down a used his finger to draw words in the sand like a toddler. He really was still mentally ill.The only thing keeping his sanity and life together was because of Red's brainwashing.
Isura joined in on the conversation.
"An assassin, criminal,mentally ill homeless man and even worse criminal all creating a pact?Also don't bring the blonde haired human into this,she seems innocent."Isura pointed out to Lily who decided to stay on the boat.
"She's my wife."Toru stepped in front of Isura and blocked her sight.
"Surprising but I'll take it.Just…try not to create conflict."Toru raised his eyebrows in disgust.
"You're doing that right now though?"
"Sorry I didn't mean to. We're all just shifting to the new environment ,am I right?"
"Wait how did the serpents get here and why?"
"I created this island."
"Really?Red the infamous criminal?Well it is you.Kraven's partner right?"
"Yeah."
"Why do you need serpents?"
"For the day of the rebellion."Kraven said.
"What rebellion…"
"Red and I are going to take control of South Korea and use it along with this island as weapons to Japan.Don't tell Emperor Maku though.."
"I wasn't planning to."That was a clear lie but Kraven played along.From the moment Toru wanted to make an alliance with Kraven and Red,he knew Toru was trying to manipulate them. He literally bombed his house and sent crows to it,trying to wipe out the most known names in Japan.
"So…are we making the crimson pact or not?!"Red exclaimed,he was eager like a child for his plan to become executed perfectly.
"Yes we will.Isn't that right Kraven?"
"Yes. It's settled then. We're all allies from now on."
"Including the sea serpents?"Toru questioned,still confused about who's in the pact besides the main 3.
"Everybody that's on this island is apart of the pact."
"Including my wife?"
"Yes.I said everybody so that means every single soul and body ok?"
"We have a deal then to aid each other from this point onward to succeed the rebellion."
Kraven placed his mask back on and walked to the boat with Toru,Lily,Red and Kibo.
He ordered Isura and the rest of the sea serpents to stay on the island as they already had aid and they should've been grateful for the supplies that the crows awarded them.
