Another morning and another day at the job.
You eat a healthy meal, check yourself in the mirror , fix the flame and go out.
Be early, get a cup of coffee, chat with the fellas and wait for the boss to arrive.
New guys are 15 minutes early, but hey, they just haven`t learned it yet.
And then the boss came.
"ADAM. I swear to God you better not do this dumb s**t again" Marcus stormed in
"I ummm don`t swear on anything *slurps coffee*"
Marcus gazed down at him, quite pissed.
And then shrugged it off
"Your funeral. Let`s go ladies"
The 12 squad members got up and went to the street, 10 minutes until the gate opens
"So...warm up? I guess" The commander 'commanded' unsure
And no one with a better idea started some light exercises.
And then it showed up
[Wave 1 will now begin]
"Armor UP" and in response 12 voices loudly "ARMOR. SWORD"
And in response to that, another goblin commander came out with screeching
"GRUAHGHAA KURGHAA"
And his army came out.
This time no archers at all. Just 40 sword wielding and moderately armored things.
Adam smiled. "Armor off" and the armor disappeared.
They looked at him in confusion (again) and just slapped their foreheads hard. But did not say a thing.
"You can talk s**t when I die. Before that, hold my beer and shut up"
And he ran to the goblins
Goblins just confused as the humans, started to form a weak shield wall and prepare to engage him. But again, why would he. So he ran around them, far enough so that they couldn`t reach him.
And then occasionally stab them, which did nothing. Except confuse or annoy them.
'Holy s**t he IS a genius' Marcus looked at him differently this time
"MEN.WEDGE FORWARD" And the squad started to shift and march to the goblins.
Who still, were trying to get the one annoying unarmored Adam.
And when they just missed him by a hair and turned around, their eyes met a blade of a much less annoying, much more armored soldiers.
And after a while, Adam decided to finally join the fun , starting by actually getting armor back on. And as usual, he went in for the final commander kill.
[Wave 1 completed]
"I still don`t believe this worked" Ben caught a breath after the slaying session
"Well, you better start"
[Wave 2 will now begin]
"Wanna see me do that again?"
"Not really, but go on"
It was pretty weird to see goblins come out of the gate with the commander gone, but hey. It just made the job easier.
Uncoordinated bunch of green goblins was something else.
They just went forward.
Not looking at who were they fighting, not looking at who the co-soldiers were.
Just go and try to kill something.
So the squad just stood and slashed.
Adam finally had a proper chance to train on something alive.
So - position, wait for the goblin to come, slash downwards. Repeat. and repeat.
And repeat until all are gone.

"I refuse" Marcus said to him after.
"And I graciously accept.....what are we talking about?"
"I refuse to accept this works" He added.
"You may be the first to doubt me. But you are not the last one. See you when I get paid" And he walked away quickly.
Why this time so fast?
Another message popped up after the fight.

That is why. He just couldn`t talk with a straight face to them after knowing HE is simply better than them and someone will promote him.
And what`s even better is the one fact. That his dumb tactic works.
Why care about armor when the enemies are far away.
When you can just summon/de-summon the armor at will.
