[Music: Red Velvet By Jutes & Ari Abdul]
Ares pressed the bottom of the cigar into the ashtray on the other lounger. He stood and came towards me slowly, holding my gaze as if waiting for me to move, but I didn't.
When he towered over me, I realized maybe I should have, but it was too late for that now. I knew one step backwards wasn't gonna save me from Ares King.
His presence has always been intense, and my feet were stapled where they were.
"It's terrifying…" Ares agreed to my earlier words, his finger curling around my hair. "...and not."
"And why is that?"
"Many reasons…"
"So I shouldn't be afraid?"
"You should."
"Are you sure…? It sounds to me like you want me to be afraid of you, and at the same time, you don't want me to be."
His silence told me he didn't have an answer to that question. It was odd seeing Ares unable to come up with a decision. I guess he wasn't so perfect after all. Even he could be stumped by confusion.
