Two weeks is a very short time on the war calendar, but for Klaus Kimeza, who was now piloting the stolen Grai Gundam across the system, two weeks felt like a resurrection. After escaping the Colonian prison, he deliberately avoided Colonian-controlled areas and old Federation bases that might still be under surveillance. He chose to hide in remote areas of Earth, where remnants of the resistance were known to be in hiding.
Klaus knew that to start an effective resistance, he had to erase his former identity. The name 'Klaus Kimeza' was a prime Colonian target. He needed a new identity, a new symbol.
He modified the guard uniform he was wearing. Klaus created a permanent disguise: he changed his name to Ans Silvet—a name that sounded foreign and anonymous. His face, known to the Council of Kings, he covered with a mask. He created a simple but effective iron glasses mask, with pink-tinted lenses that reflected light, creating a mysterious and cold aura, and concealing his sharp gaze.
Klaus then began searching for fighters. He explored the ruins of former Old Federation military bases and slums. There, he found many desperate Earth Rebel fighters. They were old Pioneer Mobile Suit Pilots, unemployed technicians, and scattered soldiers, having lost their leaders and purpose after fifteen years under Colonian pressure. They no longer believed in organized resistance, but their hearts still held a burning ember.
Klaus, as Ans Silvet, approached them one by one. He did not offer false promises of the old Federation's glory. He offered something more fundamental: purpose and technology.
"The resistance you have waged so far has failed because you fought without equal technology, and without a clear plan," Ans Silvet said to a small group of old Pioneer Mobile Suit pilots. "I will give you both. I have a superior Mobile Suit—a stolen Mobile Suit from the heart of the Colony's technology. And I will lead you with one rule: no one knows who I am, and we will fight outside the shadow of the old Federation."
Klaus successfully united them all. He drew these desperate fighters and reorganized them into a new resistance group he named the Dark Resistance. This name was chosen to reflect their determination to fight in the shadows, using guerrilla tactics and surprise, and countering the false light of the Colonians.
Klaus, behind the Ans Silvet mask, became the mysterious new leader, commanding with astonishing technical knowledge and a powerful stolen Mobile Suit. His followers admired Ans Silvet for his strength and because he did not claim the title of "hero" or "savior."
Late one afternoon in a remote South American area disguised as a fishing village, Klaus (as Ans Silvet) entered a small tavern that doubled as a meeting point for minor rebels. He was looking for technicians who could help him maintain the Grai Gundam.
As he sat in a corner, his eyes hidden behind the pink glasses mask observed the room. At a small table, he noticed two striking young figures. They were pilots. One was a blonde youth who looked sullen but had a sharp intensity, and a black-haired girl with twin tails who was calm and focused.
They were Wars Stinger and Aya Rose, the loyal pilots of the Romeo Blu Gundam—Mobile Suit Pilots who had just been defeated by the White Gundam in the solar power plant attack incident. After the incident, they lost track of the Romeo Blu and felt guilty about their defeat; now they wandered searching for a new purpose.
Klaus, of course, knew nothing about the Romeo Blu Gundam, or the solar power plant attack incident. He had been completely cut off for fifteen years. However, as a war veteran and a genius who understood human potential, Klaus could see there was something extraordinary about the two teenagers.
He saw Wars Stinger, though looking frustrated, radiating raw strength and incredible piloting instinct. And Aya Rose, sitting calmly beside him, radiated composure and high analytical ability.
"Those two..." Ans Silvet (Klaus) muttered to himself. "They have potential that far surpasses the old Mobile Suits they are currently using."
Klaus decided to approach them. He walked slowly to their table.
"Greetings, fighters," Ans Silvet greeted them, his voice slightly distorted by his mask. "I am looking for people who are tired of hiding and want to fight again. I can offer you the chance to fight with equal technology."
Wars Stinger looked up, his eyes full of suspicion. "Who are you? And what Mobile Suit are you talking about? We serve no one but... our leaders, the 7 Colonian Kings."
"I am Ans Silvet. I am the leader of the new Dark Resistance," Klaus replied. He pointed outside, where the Grai Gundam, disguised with a tarp, was parked. "And I bring the enemy's weapon to their own battlefield. I don't ask about your past, young people. I only look at what you can do in the future."
Aya Rose, who was sharper, stared carefully at the pink glasses mask. She sensed an aura of vast experience and technical knowledge from Ans Silvet. Although mysterious, the masked man brought real hope.
"We have nothing left to offer," Wars Stinger said bitterly.
"You offer potential," Klaus countered. "Your potential is the greatest strength for this group. Join me. We will make the Colonians fear the dark. The two of you will become the main commanders of the Dark Resistance Army."
Wars Stinger and Aya Rose exchanged glances. They had lost everything, and this offer—to fight again in a new and mysterious way, without the Colonian ties—soundbed like destiny.
They agreed. Klaus Kimeza, now Ans Silvet, had just recruited his first commanders, unaware that the two teenagers were former Mobile Suit pilots of the enemy he feared: the Colonies. The Klaus Army, or rather, the Dark Resistance, was officially formed.
