This is basically Author's Note so…
But before I begin. If you read the previous chapters properly, you'd notice a few things that don't coincide with what you might know about the anime.
First, is the issue of Camera…if you will, it's shown that it existed since there was a picture of Hiruzen's team 7, but then, this is my story, and it's inclined towards Murakami being in a real world of fantasy, so things won't just exist without a background story.
There was never any mention of science and the like in the anime or manga, but things don't just make sense.
The technology used to capture the Chunin Exam in the Hokage tower should spark your curiosity.
You could call it Fuinjutsu Technology, that's well and good, but then, everything Fuinjutsu gets conveniently associated with a clan that was massacred decades ago.
Which means…the clan that was supposed to bring about advanced civilization got wiped out for world building.
Ehhh… something doesn't add up, yeah?
Secondly, the mention of war. As I've had Murakami mention time and time again, the Second Shinobi war apparently happens between 10-15 years, and 15-20 years after the first shinobi war.
But then again, the sanin were in their 20s then, Nawaki was just freshly graduated from the academy, and then few days?weeks?months?...passed, he dies.
With that, I'll be taking 10-15 years.
But considering the mix-ups and plot holes regarding a lot of events, example being Uzushiogakure and the Uzumaki clan and how their extermination triggered the Second Shinobi war.
It was mentioned by Orochimaru that it took three villages to bring them down. Whether that was a part of what sparked the war, we have no idea, but it's convenient so we'll make use of it.
This is spoilers by the way.

Although I'll be writing this in a novel format later, I should do a little exposition here.
***
The Second Shinobi War wasn't triggered by a single event but by a combination of rising tensions, shifting power balances, and resource struggles following the First Shinobi War.
The First Shinobi War ended with and left the world in a fragile state, an armistice was signed, but it wasn't peace.
All of the major nations became distrustful of each other and countries began rearming and preparing in secret while maintaining a façade of peace.
Uzushiogakure, the Village of the Uzumaki Clan, was allied with Konoha and was known for their fūinjutsu and longevity, so they were seen as a strategic threat.
But we all know it's impossible to actually defeat the Uzumaki Clan from how we've come to understand their overpoweredness.
This is where it gets interesting.
I feel like Kumo was also involved, but I don't know. I'll do a research on this later, but something tells me they weren't, which is probably why the third Raikage wanted to kidnap Kushina, cause they didn't get the opportunity to acquire an Uzumaki.
But then again, it could be Zetsu's machination for all we know.
Continuing on, this act outraged Konohagakure, who saw it as a breach of the armistice and a power grab.
So while the destruction of Uzushiogakure may not have formally started the war, it's a key turning point that likely sparked retaliation and escalated into full-scale conflict that involved even minor nations.
The second shinobi war saw multiple nations start invading smaller countries, using the excuse of "protecting borders."
This sparked a chain reaction of alliances and counterattacks from even smaller nations, the classic "everyone for themselves" scenario ensued, leading to world wide chaos and misery over the land.
(That's also my feeling. If you think it could happen to someone as plain as Nagato, think of it on a world scale.)
PS: don't include the Rinnegan.
The war became official once the Five Great Nations began direct conflict.
The battles that took place during the war weren't mentioned other than the one between Sannin and Hanzo of the Salamander.
Hell, the entire story has questions in regards to the general state of the world, not just from the shinobi point of view, or a few shinobis point of view.
So I took the liberty of creating mine to make sense, which it would, so enjoy and understand that this won't be just wish fulfilment.
They might have made the entire thing seem normal and casual since it was a kids show, but c'mon.
We're all older now, so if you do a bit of research and fill in the gaps, you'll understand how truly horrifying the Shinobi world was prior to Naruto's generation.
And how the Naruto generation had it quite easy.
(My personal feelings.)
