"Is that really what Heiji said?" Inspector Megure asked, shocked.
Miwako Sato nodded. "Inspector, what do we do now?"
"If it's Heiji's deduction, search every street. Kaitou Kid can't have gotten far with the 'Sunflowers'," Megure said.
"Notify the helicopters! Search a three-kilometer radius!" Inspector Nakamori shouted.
The night sky was lit up again as strong beams scanned the streets.
Police cars sped down the roads, sirens blaring.

He weighed his options and decided to give up the painting.

Heiji lowered the gun and held out his hand. "Give it to me, and I'll tell you."
"It's a great piece of art. I hope you don't destroy it."

Heiji didn't chase. He looked at the painting and slung it onto his back.
"Officer! There's a scary man in a mask in there!"
He could hear shouting from the street, and footsteps approaching.
Watching the police run into the alley, Kaito Kuroba (hidden elsewhere) sneered: Let's see you escape this.
The footsteps got closer.
Heiji's eyes flashed. He ran, jumped, and used his "Air Glide" skill.
He landed on the wall, grabbed a drainpipe, and climbed quickly.
"It's the Night Baron! We found him!"
"He's on the roof! Requesting helicopter support!"
The police shouted from below. Heiji smiled. He had climbed the ten-story building in an instant.
All police were notified via radio.
"Units 03 and 05, maintain pursuit!" Inspector Megure yelled.
"03, roger."
"05, roger."
The helicopter blades thundered as its spotlight scanned the roof.
Heiji stood on the roof, frowning. "System, this still doesn't count as complete?"
The system didn't respond.
Suddenly, the spotlight hit him.
"03 has eyes on the Night Baron! He's on a residential building in 5-chome!"
"Good! Keep on him, we're on our way!"
Megure and Nakamori turned back.
"They found him? Good."
The red Mazda pulled a 360 and sped back.
"Looks like I have to escape the police to complete the mission."
He looked up at the helicopter with a strange smile.
"We're heading to the roof. Is the Night Baron still there?"
Megure was leading a group of police up the stairs.
"03 reporting, the Night Baron is still on the roof... wait, what is he doing?"
The pilot's shocked voice came over the radio.
"What's happening? I'm almost at the roof!" Megure's face changed.
"He... the Night Baron is jumping to another building!"
The pilot's voice was shaking.
"What? The buildings are five meters apart! He can't jump that, not with a painting! I'll grab him!"
The roof door burst open. Megure ran out. "Night Baron, you're... AHHH!"
Megure's scream came over the radio.
"Inspector Megure! What's wrong?" Miwako Sato yelled into her radio.
Only static replied.
Megure stood frozen, his eyes wide, looking like he'd seen a ghost.
The Night Baron had leaped from one building to the next like a bird, graceful and clean.
"The Night Baron jumped to another building! Wait, he just jumped again..."
Sato's face paled.
"Who's on 5-chome Avenue? Follow him and cut him off at the end!" Megure roared.
"I'm on 5-chome Avenue."
Suddenly, Sato's eyes focused. A figure in the spotlight was leaping between buildings. "I see the Night Baron."
No time to be shocked. She slammed the gas.
"I won't let you escape this time."
The wind rushed past Heiji. With his "Air Glide" skill, he could clear five meters easily, but...
He looked up at the helicopter, frowning. I have to lose this helicopter.
"Night Baron, you can't escape! I will catch you!"
Miwako Sato's eyes were cold as she watched the leaping figure.
"Chain Mission Triggered. Third task: C-Rank Special Mission, rescue Miwako Sato from the Night Baron."
