Chapter 24 - Silence Within A Library

Within a realm of blue, with swirling souls converging into a tower that pierced the multi-coloured sky, the ground and trees were broken and slivered around one another whilst ravens, blue from head to tail, called outwards.

Around the tower of souls, the ground was being ripped apart and floating upwards, creating islands, whilst the inhabitants yelled to one another in forgotten tongues.

Within a valley that tore from one side of the realm to the other, at its deepest and most hazy part, lay a labyrinth of books, papers, and fleshy blood tentacles making its walls. At its grand entrance of swirling blue souls, towering raven-like beasts eagerly awaited its gates to open.

As a giant clock tower of unknown make struck the Roman numeral nine, the gates of the labyrinth flung open as waves of raven-like beasts ran into the abyss.

Standing atop the gates was a two-headed feathered beast which stood on its hind legs, one arm holding a staff that constantly changed its shape—one moment made of wood, another made from flesh—constantly flashing undecidedly, whilst the other hung freely by its side.

From behind the towering raven-like man came a small child, its eyes glowing with power and knowledge as it appeared behind the beast.

"Kairos," the small child emitted with a cold indifference, with a feminine call.

Kairos, the towering raven-like man, looked startled as he turned and both sets of heads looked downwards towards the tiny human child.

One head's eyes looked beyond the child, staring through her, whilst the other eyes bore into the child.

"M'lady." With a short but power-filled bow, Kairos half-knelt to the small child.

"Where is your pet?" Kairos stared at the child, seeing that she no longer held onto her precious little dog, which she had even fought his lord over.

The small child looked at her arms before letting out a small huff, before composure beyond her years appeared on her face.

"He's needed elsewhere."

Kairos's heads both looked into the child's eyes, as the head previously looking beyond the child met her gaze.

"That dragon isn't supposed to exist."

The tiny child looked at Kairos's other head with indifference as a swirl of blue and raven feathers appeared to the side of both child and Daemon.

From the vortex came a tentacle-covered beast with one singular eye covered by flaps of blue skin and ravening tentacles constantly blocking it.

Kairos, within the second of the vortex appearing, knelt on both knees as his heads met the ground.

The small child, however, looked and met the tentacle-covered monster without fear as its voice rang with a multitude of different tones and ages.

"Minerva, it's been centuries since you've left the labyrinth."

The tiny child, now called by her name, looked at the mass of blue and raven-covered feathers with indifference masking her face.

"Minerva… why have you come out?"

Minerva's lips didn't part, but instead a swirl of multi-coloured souls swept around her as she disappeared from where she stood.

Kairos, watching this scene unfold, felt a trickle of fear appear within his left head, burying itself deeper into the ground, whilst his right head had one set of eyes looking at the swirl of colours surrounding where Minerva had been, whilst the other looked at the blue-covered being.

The being, watching Minerva disappear, didn't interfere as its eye opened only slightly from behind its tentacle-covered head.

With a quiet pop, Minerva disappeared from where she stood, leaving only a faint trace of colour as the area where she had vanished returned to its normal blue.

Kairos's left head, hearing the sound, barely reared as its lord stood in front of him. Kairos's right head, however, looked at his lord as his lord looked back at the giant raven-made man.

"Kairos Fateweaver… your abilities will come of assistance soon, and given so, you shall walk in the flesh."

Kairos's head reared upwards as it looked at the feet of his lord, hearing his lord's announcement that he would walk in the materium.

Kairos's left head's beak opened. "I thank you, Lord of Changes, for this great opportunity."

The Lord of Changes' eye, still partially trained on Kairos, left the beast's body as a vortex of blue surrounded the Lord of Changes, and he disappeared.

Kairos, finally feeling the pressure of his lord disappearing with his left head, looked around before hurriedly manifesting within his library to prepare for his lord's mission. His right head, however, just looked plainly forward, not giving his counterpart any thoughts or words.

– Location – The Well of Urd / Eternity –

The Lord of Change, with his newly shaped body, constantly changed as tentacles grew and shrunk whilst spots around his body turned blue, grey, then black, then blue again.

His singular eye split into an uncountable number as they stared into the massive and endless well before him.

Within the reflection of the water in the well came a visage of a dragon consuming his body, and from its mouth faint words escaped from the version of him in the water.

"Anathema's son."

These silent words from his future didn't strike fear or confusion, but exhilaration. The prospect of gaining such a weapon from the Anathema shook the swirling masses of souls in the centre of Tzeentch's realm.

The raven-like beasts within the nine libraries looked at the swirling mass of souls with greed and want within their eyes as, from the deepest labyrinths of Tzeentch's realm, a little girl walked aimlessly, taking lefts and rights as shrieks of pain and terror erupted within the labyrinth.

Minerva walked until she reached the edge of the labyrinth, teetering near the well of souls, which constantly ate away at the four conjoined realms. One of blue, red, purple and green all fell into the endless pits of the well.

Minerva looked over the edge to see a world like no other; it could only exist in the immaterium, yet from her view, it fit perfectly within the materium. The materium realm didn't reject this impossibly sized world or try to forcefully break it, but instead it looked to be placed like a gem atop a crown, as the surrounding planets looked like accessories to its majesty.

From her view, the world was surrounded by a ring of asteroids with one moon; it resembled a dragon's wings and body curled around the planet, with the moon as its eye looking back at Minerva.

A subtle tremble emitted from the well as Minerva felt a pull towards it; the well opened to show a small German Shepherd sleeping at the bottom of a giant's throne.

(AN: Hope this improves the lack of talking. I'll improve it in the next chapter, which should come out in two hours or so when I'm done fixing issues, but yeah, hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I'd like you guys to leave a comment so I can have some feedback on this and the following chapter.)
