Rivi took a long breath as she re-entered her body lying outside the tent she shared with Rufi and I. She looked up at the star-coated sky, an ancient melancholy dwelling in her gaze. After a while she shook herself, some of her usual bubbliness returning to her features.
She sighed and murmured into the night. "This is why I hate giving advice, I always have to get so…serious about it."
She gave another shake of her head, then pushed herself off the ground and re-entered the tent. "Ah, Silvie," she murmured to herself, her gaze softening as she took in my sleeping form. "Somehow you always make me feel so sure of myself." She reached out and stroked the edge of my blanket, careful not to do anything that might wake me. Then she turned and slipped under her own covers, closing her eyes as she slowly drifted off to sleep.
