Chapter 73 - No More Games II

The chaos broke out within the Wild Wild PussyCats' facility.

Following Mandalay's warning, Vlad King, Tiger, and Pixie Bob moved into action, the latter being caught by Mustard's mist.

To avoid complications, Mr. Compress trapped the sleepy PussyCat while Magne blasted Vlad King into the wall, capitalizing on the proximity between him and Tiger.

The PussyCat engaged in fierce hand-to-hand combat, finding it difficult to take down Magne.

Meanwhile, Vlad nearly let out all the air he was holding when he hit the wall, gritting his teeth and jumping away from his position to avoid Mustard's shots.

When the Hero tried to back up Tiger, he was repelled by Magne's ability, and when he tried to lunge at Mustard, Mr. Compress tried to trap him.

Worse still, every movement, every effort, made it increasingly difficult to hold his breath.

But Mr. Compress was not allowing them to leave the premises.

Fortunately, or perhaps not, a tremor reverberated throughout the facility, followed by a roar and a shockwave that knocked down some walls and destabilized all the combatants.

Tiger and Vlad took the opportunity to get out and take some air before the cursed mist spread.

As they did so, they noticed a forest of vines sprouting from the walls and ceiling, being stabbed and cut by sharp, metallic growths.

Shreds of cloth and traces of blood were flying out of the Class 1-B girls' rooms.

—Go!— Tiger said, and Vlad shot off to help his students, his expression rigid and his heart sinking with every new sharp extension that tore at Ibara's vines.

With a punch, the Hero and Class 1-B teacher broke through the wall, finding a chaotic scene inside the dormitory.

Parts of Setsuna were flying back and forth, evading the metallic extensions. Some were caught and stabbed. Ibara protected the others, moving her vines to retrieve the parts of Setsuna that could not move.

Kinoko, Reiko, and Yui were treating Itsuka, whose hands were bleeding, presumably from a stabbing by the villain.

Vlad launched himself at the creature that was attacking his students, worried that he could not see Pony's presence.

—Get out of here now!— the Hero roared as he confronted Moonfish.

Before he could get closer to the villain, a second shockwave unleashed from somewhere in the dormitories. A mass of dark energy shot through the wall, smashing into Moonfish's row of teeth and breaking them in the process.

The violent blow broke the extensions and threw the villain against the other wall, while also blocking Vlad's path.

Izuku activated One For All beyond his safety limit, launching himself like a rocket toward Iida and the villain whose hand had just rested on his leg.

Time seemed to slow down for the young man. He saw the hint of a cruel smile forming on the villain's lips, he saw black lines slowly spreading over his classmate's skin, he saw the grimace forming on Iida's face.

In a blink, Izuku appeared next to them, his fist already pulled back and shooting toward the one trying to hurt his friend.

However, a sudden cloak of darkness appeared right in his face, changing his position in space so suddenly that he reacted too late.

His fist, bathed in vibrant energy, was suddenly no longer aimed at Tomura Shigaraki, but at Bakugo Katsuki.

Bakugo barely managed to twist his body aside, and Izuku desperately diverted his enormous punch.

The shockwave grazed the blonde boy, battering him as if he had been hit by a car. The released energy hurt Izuku's arm, and the roar shook the entire room.

His other classmates evaded as quickly as possible. Fortunately, the direction in which Izuku shot did not aim at everyone, so the energy continued its course, knocking down walls and shaking the facility.

But another sound overlaid the roar. A sharp, pitiful, and heartbreaking one.

—AAAAAACK!!— Iida shrieked, his balance lost by Tomura Shigaraki's tug and the shockwave unleashed by Izuku.

Black lines spread across his leg, as if the limb was seconds away from cracking and scattering into dust. That is precisely what it began to do moments later.

Suddenly, a muscular extension of flesh descended like a mass, striking the villain's arm and forcing him to break contact with the student.

Ojiro positioned himself in front of Iida while Kaminari tried to drag him out of danger, his face showing panic as the boy with glasses groaned and growled.

His leg was turning a sickly gray while pieces of the place where Shigaraki made contact came off like dust, leaving an increasingly large hole in the limb.

—Kaminari, get him out of here!— Ojiro roared, taking a defensive stance against the pale-skinned bastard with hands all over his body.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Todoroki trying to stand up, his head bleeding and his expression dazed, clearly being one of the few who almost took Midoriya's hit moments ago.

Shoji had tried to charge head-on but was swallowed by a dark portal and taken to another location along with Sero and Kirishima.

Bakugo could not move either, being the one who took the worst of that Smash, while Midoriya himself suffered some tearing in his legs and arm.

There was no powerful striker to step up, so Ojiro discarded his initial panic and decided to rely on his own strengths.

From the little he observed, he deduced that if the opponent touched him, he would be lost. So he should not allow himself to be touched...

—Tail boy, did you really think you could become a Hero just with martial arts? Do you think life is a game or a damn action movie where you will cross fists with the "bad guys"?— the villain asked, quickly moving his hand to his lower back.

Ojiro's eyes widened when Tomura Shigaraki pointed a gun at him.

The trigger was pulled, and the bullet was fired at a speed Ojiro could never evade. He had no significant body enhancements, nor overwhelming reactions.

He tried to move his tail to take the impact, but he was too slow. The bullet hit him in the stomach, penetrating flesh and lodging in his intestines.

It was in that instant that Bakugo, Midoriya, and Tokoyami exploded in unison.

The blonde's palms lit up, but a dark door swallowed him. Midoriya's body tensed, drawing more energy for another even more devastating attack, but a dark door swallowed him.

However, Tokoyami was more decisive, jumping aside just in time to avoid Kurogiri's portal, while rage motivated him to unleash more of his power.

—Todoroki, lights!— the boy called out to his classmate.

Endeavor's son snapped out of his daze, sending ice spears toward the light bulbs.

As soon as darkness invaded the dormitory, Tokoyami let out Dark Shadow with a roar, the creature taking advantage of both the boy's mood and the opportune lack of light.

Its size increased so abruptly that Kurogiri could not create a large enough portal. With a flap of its limbs and a shrill cry, Dark Shadow swept Tomura's position, sending a second tremor throughout the entire camp.
