I froze when Hevis suddenly brushed away the strand of hair covering my neck. His brows furrowed at what he saw. I immediately stepped back and covered the bite mark on my skin.
"What happened to your neck?" he asked, his voice still cold as ice.
"Ah, it's nothing. Don't mind it."
He glanced at Eros. Eros didn't even look back at him—he kept his gaze locked on me like he couldn't see anyone else but me.
Hevis turned back to me.
"Did Eros do that?" he asked.
I opened my mouth to answer, but Kio spoke first.
"Get away from her. Leave Luna alone," he said coldly.
Hevis met Kio's eyes, serious and sharp.
"I'm not done," Hevis replied, voice equally cold. Then he looked back at me—so intensely that I froze in place. "I'll come back. And I hope you already know the answer by then."
