Having seen the forest area planted by the Diglett, Alex and his group began their search for the Celadon Gym's location, determined to earn the pink badges.
At this moment, they were peering around in a thicket.
"Hey, that's strange. Where exactly is the Celadon Gym?" Ash poked his head out and asked.
"Will there really be a Gym in such a remote place?" Misty looked worried, afraid of getting lost again.
"There should be, right? The map says it's around here," Alex said, carefully examining the map.
But unfortunately, they were lost again.
"Alright, it's about time to go. Let's hurry to the Celadon Gym and get our badges!"
After resting long enough on a large rock by a spring, Ash and Alex stood up, ready to continue searching for the Gym's location.
"Wait a moment! Psyduck isn't ready yet," Misty said, glancing at Psyduck drinking water with a hint of irritation.
"When you're done drinking, you need to quickly go back into your Poké Ball."
"Quack, quack, quack!" Psyduck, looking dazed, rubbed its head.
"Honestly, every time I see Psyduck's face, I can't help but want to scold him."
"What beautiful fur! It really is Vulpix, cared for by Snowy," Brock said, stroking Vulpix's fur.
"Oh, by the way, Brock, can I trade my Psyduck for your Vulpix?" Misty asked, grinning.
"No," Brock decisively refused.
Misty frowned and looked at Psyduck, saying, "Honestly, I can't even comb your fur, only the three strands on your head."
"We're heading out now. You two hurry up!"
At this moment, a Venonat was hiding in the shadows on a tree, watching them.
Alex and Ash got up and left the large rock where they had rested.
After crossing a log bridge, a large complex of ancient buildings suddenly appeared before them; clearly, it was a garden.
"How can there be such a large, strange traditional house in this place?"
"I didn't expect such houses to still exist in this era," Brock and Misty said, looking at the ancient buildings with great emotion.
"Anyway, let's first ask the people here for the address of the Celadon Gym, shall we?" Alex suggested as he walked forward.
"Excuse me, may I ask—sorry to bother you, is anyone inside?"
"Is no one inside?"
Alex and the others pulled open a wooden door and shouted into the house.
"Ah!"
A wooden board Misty was leaning on suddenly flipped, sending her to an unknown location.
"What happened? Where's Misty? Where did she go?" Alex exclaimed, looking around for the vanished Misty.
"She disappeared!"
Brock leaned in and knocked, saying, "So this door is a trap door."
"A trap door?" Alex asked.
"That's right, it's a trap door!"
After saying that, Brock knocked hard on the door again, and then it flipped back.
"Ouch! What's wrong with this house?" Misty said, rubbing her sore waist from the fall.
Suddenly, a Venonat appeared before them.
"Venonat~"
Alex took out his Pokédex and looked at it.
"Venonat, Poison/Bug-type Pokémon, the Insect Pokémon. Its eyes have radar functions, allowing it to move freely even in the dark."
"This Pokémon looks very interesting!" Ash said, watching the approaching Venonat.
Venonat walked straight past them, entering the corridor inside the house.
"Venonat."
"Ash, I think he wants us to follow him," Alex said, running after the Venonat.
However, after only two steps, Ash was suddenly struck by a jolt of electricity, causing his body to go numb.
"Pikachu, don't suddenly discharge electricity!" Ash said, speechless, lying on the ground.
"No, Ash, it's not Pikachu; it's electricity discharging from the floor. It must be some kind of trap," Alex explained, looking at Ash, who had just been shocked to the ground.
"Look at that!"
After saying that, Alex pointed at the Voltorb under the floor.
"Voltorb, a creature of unknown origin, uses Electric-type moves. When angry, it will use Explosion, possessing a self-destructive nature."
This Pokédex, as expected, wasn't as detailed as the system's explanation.
Alex once again complained inwardly about Professor Oak and the terrible Pokédex he created.
"This place is getting stranger and stranger. Let's get out of here quickly; it wouldn't be good if it self-destructed."
With that, Alex pulled Ash up and continued walking forward.
When they reached a fork in the road,
"Ah, over there!"
Misty pointed to the end of the right passage. When Venonat saw Alex and the others, it turned its head and walked into the other passage.
"Hey, wait a minute!"
"Bang!"
Suddenly, Ash, who was running ahead, was blocked by an invisible wall. Ash had just started running and hadn't clearly seen the situation, so he ran straight into it.
"There's an invisible wall here!" Alex exclaimed, touching the wall in front of him.
"I think there's definitely something wrong with this house," Misty said, looking around.
"It's probably better if we stay outside for now. Let's go," Brock suggested cautiously.
As soon as Ash turned around, there was another transparent wall, and he ran into it again.
"Oh no, we're trapped!"
"This is probably a trap, isn't it?" Alex said, looking around.
"A trap?"
"Could it be that they want to lock us up and steal our Pokémon?" Brock said with a serious expression.
"I don't want to give up my Vulpix!" Brock suddenly started crying.
"Let's just escape first."
Ash said, pressing on a nearby window, but ended up pushing the window right out.
Outside was a cliff, and at the bottom was a turbulent river.
Ash was hanging on the cliff, gripping the window frame.
"Hurry and save me!" Ash struggled to say.
Afterward, Alex and Brock slowly reached out and pulled Ash up.
"It's better not to act rashly, isn't it?" Alex said, panting.
Just then, Venonat pushed open a wooden door and appeared.
"Damn it! What do you want?" Ash said angrily, charging toward Venonat.
Venonat flashed past and ran down the corridor behind him. Ash pushed open the door and followed closely.
However, as soon as he passed, several shurikens flew at him, pinning Ash to the wooden wall.
After that, Alex and the others quickly pushed open the door and went in, but the room was empty.
