Chapter 84 - Chapter 84 — The Contract She Signed While Eating

It was supposed to be a formal contract signing.

A dignified moment.

A celebratory milestone.

Something photographed for press releases.

Instead…

Aria signed her multi-million-dollar movie contract while chewing a chicken skewer.

Daniel should've seen it coming.

Director Mason absolutely should've seen it coming.

But no one predicted the exact sequence of events that led to this disaster.

It All Started with the Skewers

The catering truck had parked early on set that morning, and the smell of freshly grilled chicken drifted across the soundstage like a beacon sent from heaven.

Aria followed the scent with laser focus.

Daniel shouted behind her, "ARIA.

ARIA, WE HAVE PAPERWORK FIRST—

DON'T YOU WALK TOWARD THAT FOOD—

ADULTS SIGN CONTRACTS BEFORE BREAKFAST—"

He chased her through three hallways.

She outran him while yawning.

The stunt team cheered her speed.

Director Mason screamed when she passed his office window holding two skewers.

She took a bite, and the world temporarily lost meaning.

The Producer Arrives

The producer found them in a conference room:

Aria chewing food

Daniel panting

Mason clutching a folder like a lifeline

Julian leaning on the wall, amused as always

The producer cleared his throat.

"Miss Lane, we're finalizing your lead contract today."

Aria nodded politely.

With a skewer in her mouth.

Mason slapped the table.

"NO FOOD WHILE SIGNING.

THIS IS A SERIOUS INDUSTRY."

Aria blinked.

"You said food makes me calm."

"That was before legal paperwork!"

Julian murmured,

"Let her eat. She'll sign faster."

Daniel shot him a betrayed look.

"STOP ENCOURAGING HER."

The Actual Signing Begins

The legal advisor placed a thick document before Aria.

"Miss Lane, please read through everything carefully."

Aria lowered her skewer.

Julian raised an eyebrow.

Daniel sighed with relief.

Mason slumped in relief.

Then:

Aria signed page one.

Without reading.

Daniel: "ARIA."

Aria signed page two.

Mason: "STOP."

Aria signed page three.

Legal advisor: "W-Wait—"

Aria signed the final page.

Producer: "Is she… done?"

Aria finished chewing.

"Yes."

Mason looked horrified.

"You didn't READ a single clause!"

Aria calmly pointed at Daniel.

"He read it."

Daniel fell to his knees with emotional damage.

"I DID, but that's not the point!"

The Crew Peeks In

The stunt team crowded outside the window of the conference room.

Theo whispered,

"She signs faster than she flips."

Lily replied,

"She should sign my taxes."

Marcus nodded.

"That's a skill."

The Shocking Part?

The legal advisor flipped through the documentation with trembling hands.

He blinked.

Then blinked again.

"Uh… sir?"

Mason groaned.

"What?"

"She signed… perfectly."

"What do you mean PERFECTLY?"

"I mean, her signature landed in the exact spacing, exactly centered, identical pressure… identical angle… across all forty-two pages."

Everyone in the room went silent.

Julian stared at her.

Daniel choked.

Mason whispered,

"…She consistency-signed?"

Aria shrugged.

"I practiced writing as a child."

Julian murmured,

"Practiced? Or trained?"

Aria's expression stayed blank.

"Writing is writing."

Daniel mouthed to Julian:

She trained. Definitely trained.

Press Photos Gone Wrong

The producer clapped.

"Alright! Let's take the official signing photo."

He positioned Aria behind the contract.

Aria smiled…

…with a piece of chicken still in her hand.

Mason slapped his forehead.

"AT LEAST PUT THE SKEWER DOWN!"

Aria obediently put it down.

The moment Mason exhaled—

She picked up a donut from the table instead.

Mason screamed.

Julian laughed.

Daniel considered quitting and starting a farm.

Later That Afternoon

Daniel collapsed into a chair, exhausted.

"I negotiated for four weeks.

She negotiated for forty seconds.

She wins. Every time."

Julian sipped his coffee, amused.

"You're getting used to her."

"No," Daniel whispered. "I'm surviving."

Julian smirked.

"That's the same thing."

Aria walked over, holding another skewer.

"I signed correctly, right?"

Daniel stared into the middle distance.

"You signed… flawlessly.

Like a machine.

Or a government agent.

But we don't ask those questions in this household."

Aria nodded.

"Okay."

She handed Daniel a skewer.

"For stress."

Daniel burst into tears.

Director Mason's Final Words of the Day

He walked by, holding a new schedule, eyes hollow.

"Miss Lane," he whispered,

"If you steal my lunch again…

I'll rewrite the script to kill your character three times."

Aria blinked.

She reached into her bag

and handed him a backup sandwich she'd saved.

Mason teared up.

"…I hate how sweet you are."

Aria smiled.

"That makes us even."
