Qi Yan and Erza's faces turned instantly grim. The name "Magic Dragon Alazam" wasn't just a legend—it was the target of their current, and seemingly impossible, SS-rank mission.

"H-how could this be... He shouldn't have broken the seal yet! Why is he out?!" The King was in a panic. His plan had been to organize a major hunt after the conference, relying on the premise that the Dragon was still weakened and contained.

If Alazam was truly unsealed and had regained his strength, the Sobeya Kingdom was facing extinction.

"Magic Dragon? Alazam who?" Below the city wall, the Swordsmen were utterly confused. They didn't know the legend. Weren't dragons mythical creatures?

The King, sweating but resolute, stared down the purple-haired youth. "Magic Dragon Alazam," he declared, his voice solemn. "A great Dragon from 400 years ago. It wreaked countless horrors before being sealed by Sword Saint Noah. I never imagined it would emerge now."

"Giant Dragon?!" The crowd gasped, looking nervously at the youth.

The purple-haired youth waggled a finger back and forth. "No, no, no. You got one thing wrong. I wasn't sealed by mere humans. Don't flatter yourselves. I was sealed by the Sealed Dragon, Celis. That human merely lent a hand."

"Mr. Alazam," the King gritted his teeth, desperation creeping in, "since a Dragon sealed you, your grievance has nothing to do with us. Sword Saint Noah has been dead for centuries; you can no longer have your revenge on him."

He no longer sought conflict—he sought survival.

"You're right. I can't get revenge on that guy. But getting revenge on his country is still fine, right?" The youth's expression was playful, utterly devoid of mercy. "Besides, I truly love eating humans."

He licked his lips, his eerie gaze sweeping over the crowd. It wasn't the look of a person observing others, but of a predator eyeing delicious food. A collective shiver ran down every spine.

The Invulnerable Foe

"Judgment of Light!"

Arthur didn't wait. He raised his longsword, powerful magic surging from his body and condensing into a massive, shimmering golden light-sword. "Magic Dragon! Die!" he roared, bringing the colossal light-sword down hard toward the enemy's head, like splitting the very sky.

The purple-haired youth stood utterly still.

BOOM—!

The massive light-sword struck Alazam's head.

Crack—!

Instead of the Dragon's skull shattering, it was Arthur's magic blade that instantly cracked, as if hitting an immovable barrier. Then, with a deafening BANG, the golden light-sword exploded into fragments.

Arthur's pupils constricted in horror. "What?!"

He endured Arthur's ultimate skill... with his head?!

The youth bared his teeth and smiled playfully. "What are you doing, human?"

CRACKLING!!!

Clay lunged, his body wreathed in dazzling lightning. "Thunderclap Flash!!!"

He achieved his fastest speed yet, his blade aiming straight for Alazam's neck.

CRACK—!

Alazam didn't move. Clay's sword snapped in half. Disbelief was etched across Clay's face.

"Requip: Heaven's Wheel Armor!!!"

"Heaven's Wheel: Bladeworks!!!"

Erza retaliated instantly, summoning and firing multiple swords continuously.

Boom boom boom boom boom! The powerful impacts kicked up a massive cloud of smoke.

"How is it?" Everyone held their breath.

The smoke cleared. The purple-haired youth stood there, completely unharmed.

"Clap, clap, clap!" He applauded slowly. "Good! Good! Human magic is still so interesting. Your desperate struggles excite me very much."

"How is this possible?!" Terror gripped the crowd. The ultimate attacks of the strongest Nine-Star Swordsmen were utterly ineffective!

The King's grim voice cut through the fear. "Because he is a Dragon. Dragons are naturally invulnerable to blades and spears, and they possess extreme resistance to human magic. Human magic can barely scratch them—that is why, in ancient times, any single Giant Dragon could easily destroy an entire country."

The King, having walked down from the wall, approached them.

"Oh? You know quite a lot!" Alazam noted with a smirk.

"Mr. Alazam, Sword Saint Noah's grievances have passed. The people of today have none with you. Please show mercy."

Alazam's smile widened to a terrifying grin. "I really love eating people. And humans are incredibly delicious."

Clang—!

The King drew his own longsword, and flames immediately erupted along the blade. "Mr. Alazam, if you will not retreat, I will fight you even if it costs my life! Even if I cannot slay you, I will severely wound you!"

The purple-haired youth stared at the sword, then burst into uncontrollable, stomach-clutching laughter. "Hahahaha!"

"What are you laughing at?!" the King demanded, his face dark.

Wiping a tear from his eye, Alazam gasped out, "I'm laughing at you! Do you think a sword made from a Dragon Slayer Magic Crystal can contend with a Giant Dragon?" He mocked mercilessly. "Naive! Truly too naive! Don't talk about a crystal sword—even if a real Dragon Slayer were to revive, what could it do to me?!"

The King refused to be intimidated. Negotiation was over. "Die!" He stomped forward and swung the flaming sword.

Alazam casually raised his open palm.

Snap!

The sword struck the Dragon's palm, but the skin was untouched.

"What?!"

"See? Apart from a Dragon Slayer who has cultivated their Magic to an extremely high level, or mid- and high-ranking Giant Dragons themselves, nothing humans do can harm me."

CRACK—!!

Alazam clenched his hand, and the priceless Dragon Slaying Sword, the King's most heavily invested weapon, shattered instantly.

"How could this be?!" The King stared in utter disbelief. His ultimate weapon was nothing more than a toy in the Dragon's hand.

Snap!

Alazam grabbed the King's neck.

"Release His Majesty!" Everyone rushed forward to intervene.

Alazam simply waved his free hand, and a massive, invisible claw-like slash swept across the crowd.

"Ugh ah ah ah!"

Those who rushed forward were instantly thrown back, more than half losing consciousness. Even Nine-Star Swordsmen like Erza, Arthur, and Clay were severely wounded and unable to fight.

"Damn it!" Qi Yan's face was grim.

The battle with the monster horde had already drained them all. Facing a Giant Dragon, more numbers were useless. He had to act now.

He had two Gold Cards. Recycling one would provide a huge surge in magical energy. But which one to sacrifice? Xiao Wu offered greater pure energy, but the sheer terrifying presence of the person represented by the Tsugikuni Yoriichi card was undeniable. Most importantly, he was deeply reluctant to give up either. They were Gold Cards!

But there was no time. The King was about to die.

Just as Qi Yan's finger hovered over the 'Recycle' button...

Ding!

A system prompt flashed in his mind.

"Ding! Detected that the host has been transmigrated for one month, granting one lottery chance!"

"Proceed with the lottery?"

Qi Yan froze. The system's monthly bonus!

"Draw, draw, draw!" He didn't have time to consider the risk of drawing without the Goddess's Blessing.

The lottery animation appeared—and a dazzling purple star descended from the sky.

Qi Yan's eyes widened, staring at the system panel in utter shock:

"A... a Purple Item appeared?!"
