Chapter 109 - 4 - deleted scene : The miscarriage scare

Cut from Chapter 62 (During Second Pregnancy) - Too Traumatic

Why it was deleted: This added unnecessary trauma and didn't serve the plot. It was too dark for the overall tone. Replaced with a simpler false labor scene.

Luca's POV - Five Months Pregnant

The pain wakes me at 2 AM. Sharp. Wrong.

"Rian," I gasp. "Something's wrong."

He's awake instantly. "What kind of wrong?"

"Pain. And—" I reach down. "I'm bleeding."

The blood stains the sheets. His face goes white.

"Hospital. Now." He's already lifting me. "Stay calm. Deep breaths."

But I'm not calm. I'm terrified.

Please don't take this baby. Please. I want this baby.

At the Hospital

"We need an ultrasound immediately," Rian demands.

They rush me to a room. The doctor applies the wand.

Silence. Searching. My heart stops.

"There," the doctor says finally. "Heartbeat. Strong and steady."

Relief floods through both of us. Rian's gripping my hand so tight it hurts.

"The baby's okay?" I gasp.

"Baby's fine. This appears to be a subchorionic hemorrhage. Scary but usually harmless." The doctor smiles reassuringly. "Bed rest for a week. But baby should be fine."

Rian collapses into a chair, shaking. Through the bond, I feel his terror ebbing.

Back Home

"I thought we were losing her," he admits, voice broken. "For a moment, I thought—"

"I know. Me too." I take his hand. "But she's okay. We're okay."

"I can't—" He breaks down completely. "I can't lose you. Either of you. The thought of—"

"Hey." I pull him close. "We're here. We're safe. Nothing's wrong."

He clings to me, and I feel his fear through the bond. Fear of loss. Of history repeating. Of failing again.

"I've got you," I whisper. "We've got each other. And our daughter is strong. She's not going anywhere."

That night, he's extra protective. Hand constantly on my belly, checking that I'm okay.

"I love you," he says repeatedly. "Both of you. So much."

"We love you too," I assure him. "We're not going anywhere."

One Week Later - Follow-Up

"Hemorrhage has resolved," the doctor confirms. "Baby's perfect. No restrictions."

Rian's relief is overwhelming. He actually cries.

"Thank you," he tells the doctor. "Thank you."

Later, alone, he holds me carefully.

"I'm sorry," he says. "For being so scared. For almost losing it."

"You didn't lose anything. We're all here." I kiss him. "And we're staying here."

[This scene was deleted because it added trauma without purpose. The miscarriage scare didn't advance the plot and only caused unnecessary pain. It was replaced with a lighter false labor scene that still showed Rian's protectiveness without the devastating potential loss.]
