Chapter 111 - 6 - deleted scene : Kai's rebellion

Cut from Special Episodes - Too Angsty

Why it was deleted: This made Kai too antagonistic and created family drama that wasn't necessary. It was meant to show teenage rebellion but ended up making him unsympathetic.

Kai's POV - Age 15

"I hate you!" I scream at Dad. "You kidnapped Papa! You're a MONSTER!"

Dad flinches like I've struck him. "Kai—"

"Everyone knows the story! How you forced-claimed him! Held him captive! And I'm supposed to just accept that? Pretend it's romantic?"

"It wasn't romantic. It was wrong." Dad's voice is strained. "But your papa forgave me—"

"Papa had to forgive you! The bond forced him! He never had a choice!" I'm crying now. "And I'm YOUR SON. I'm proof of that forced bond. I exist because you took away his choice!"

"That's not—" Dad looks devastated. "Kai, your papa loves me. Genuinely. The bond didn't force that—"

"How do you KNOW? How can anyone know what's real and what's magic?"

Papa appears in the doorway. "Kai. Stop."

"Why? It's the truth—"

"It's not the truth." Papa's voice is firm. "Your dad did force the initial bond. That was wrong. But everything after? That was my choice. MY choice to stay. To love him. To build a life with him."

"But—"

"I could have left. After the bond was complete, I could have broken it with magic. I'm powerful enough." He steps closer. "But I didn't. Because I CHOSE him. Every day. I still choose him."

"I don't believe you."

"Then you don't know me very well." Papa's disappointed. "I'm not a victim, Kai. I'm a partner. An equal. Yes, our beginning was terrible. But our middle and our future? That's all choice."

"I just—" I collapse into a chair. "I heard kids at school talking. About us. About how Dad's a kidnapper. How our family is built on force. And I got angry."

Dad kneels before me. "I understand. And they're not entirely wrong. I did kidnap your papa. That's fact. But what we built after? That's real. That's chosen. That's love."

"How do I defend you? When what you did was wrong?"

"You don't defend what I did. You acknowledge it was wrong." Dad takes my hands. "But you can defend what we built. Our family. Our love. That's real. That's worth defending."

"I'm sorry," I whisper. "For what I said."

"I'm sorry too. For the burden my past puts on you." Dad pulls me into a hug. "I love you, son. And your papa loves you. That's what matters."

Papa joins the hug. "All of us. That's what matters."

[This scene was deleted because it created unnecessary family conflict and made Kai seem ungrateful and bratty. It was replaced with Kai being thoughtful about their history but accepting and proud of his family. The teen angst was toned way down.]
