Chapter 25 - CHAPTER 24 — A FUTILE STRUGGLE

## 🌊 Return from Collapse

The shattered remains of the stage had already faded.

What remained—

Was silence.

High above the broken currents, the **Skeleton Dragon** moved steadily through the void-like water, its massive skeletal wings cutting through the current.

On its back—

Suho lay unconscious.

His body was still.

Too still.

Behind him, his entire army followed.

Shattered skeletons, damaged beasts, fragments of bone still barely held together—

Yet they moved.

Forward.

Instinctively.

Toward the **Safe Room**.

## ⚠️ SYSTEM INTERVENTION

A faint glow flickered.

Then—

> **[System Notification]**

> **[System Notification]**

> **[System Notification]**

The messages began to blink repeatedly.

Faster.

More urgent.

Then—

Everything froze for a moment.

A final message appeared.

> **[Final Notice]**

> **Player has achieved proficiency requirements for Class: Berserker.**

> **Class Change Available.**

The system paused.

> **[Analyzing Player...]**

A delay.

> **Status: Unconscious**

> **Condition: Critical**

Another pause.

> **[Error]**

> **Player does not possess required constitution for Berserker build.**

> **Forced Class Change: Not Possible.**

The system recalculated.

> **[Analyzing Alternative Route...]**

> **Time Limit: 15 seconds**

A ticking sound echoed faintly.

> **15… 14… 13…**

Then—

> **[Secondary Authority Detected]**

> **Second-in-Command Selected.**

> **Designation: Miho (First Summon)**

> **Authority Granted: Decision Making on Behalf of Master**

## 🧟 Miho's Decision

A translucent window appeared.

Floating.

Right in front of Miho.

Only he could see it.

Miho tilted his head.

Confused.

He stared at the glowing interface.

Unreadable symbols flickering across it.

A choice.

He didn't understand it.

He raised his sword.

**Slash—**

The blade passed through the window like air.

Miho froze.

He tried again.

Nothing.

The window didn't react.

Didn't break.

Didn't move.

For a moment—

He just stood there.

Then—

Frustration.

His skeletal hand clenched.

And—

**BOOM.**

He punched the window.

A dull ripple spread across its surface.

And—

**CLICK.**

The window disappeared instantly.

Miho froze.

Then—

Slowly—

A strange expression formed on his skeletal face.

Pride.

Behind him—

Veno watched.

Silent.

Confused.

## ⚠️ RESULT

Another window appeared.

This time—

In front of Suho.

> **[Class Change Rejected]**

>

> **However—**

> **Due to high Berserker proficiency:**

>

> **Skill Acquired → Berserk Evolution**

> **Skill Name: Berserk of Madness**

The system flickered.

Then vanished.

Suho remained unconscious.

Unaware of everything.

## 🌌 Elsewhere — Another Tutorial

A different battlefield.

A different fate.

The **Regressor** stood alone.

Breathing heavily.

His body was covered in wounds.

Fatigue weighed down every movement.

He looked at his trembling hands.

> "I have regressed…"

His voice was low.

Measured.

> "…and I am growing stronger as fast as I can."

He clenched his fist.

> "But once I return to Earth…"

A pause.

> "…everything will become more complicated."

His eyes darkened.

> "I don't even know where my comrades are."

Silence.

Then—

He spoke again.

> "But the most problematic thing…"

His expression hardened.

> "…is that name."

A whisper.

> **"Ignored by Everyone…"**

He frowned.

> "There was no one like that in my first life."

A pause.

> "Maybe…"

His gaze lowered.

> "…he died early."

A quiet conclusion.

> "Yes… that must be it."

He turned away.

> "Someone like that…"

A cold voice.

> "…would never survive."

## ⚪ Safe Room

White.

Endless.

Silent.

The army entered the Safe Room.

One after another.

The moment they crossed the boundary—

The chaos disappeared.

Only stillness remained.

The Skeleton Dragon lowered itself.

Carefully.

Suho was placed on the ground.

Still unconscious.

But—

His face twisted slightly.

## 🌑 Nightmare

Darkness.

Not his memory.

Not his past.

Someone else's.

A warrior stood in the void.

Strong.

Unshakable.

Monsters fell before him effortlessly.

One after another.

Without resistance.

He didn't struggle.

He didn't hesitate.

He was—

Powerful.

Then—

## ⚠️ GLITCH—

The scene broke.

The warrior stumbled.

Blood.

Wounds.

A dark cave.

His body was broken.

His arms bound by heavy chains.

No light.

No sound.

Only silence.

And—

Loneliness.

In his final moments—

He was alone.

## 🧠 Veno's Thoughts

Back in the Safe Room—

Veno sat quietly.

In front of Suho.

Watching him.

Silent.

Then—

Memories surfaced.

The beginning.

A broken village.

A dying battlefield.

A boy.

Suho.

Injured.

Afraid.

Yet—

Still trying.

Trying to revive him.

Again.

And again.

And again.

Despite having no talent.

No skill.

No knowledge.

He didn't give up.

Veno remembered—

The moment his soul stirred.

> *"…Why?"*

Why was this child still trying?

He had seen many like him.

Eyes filled with despair.

Pain.

Hopelessness.

But Suho—

Was different.

His eyes were ordinary.

Weak.

But they didn't break.

They endured.

That was enough.

So—

With what little remained—

Veno responded.

He became a skeleton.

His control was incomplete.

His memories fragmented.

But—

He stayed.

And watched.

Watched the boy struggle.

Every battle—

He should have died.

Every moment—

He should have broken.

But he didn't.

> *"Why…?"*

Why continue?

The answer was simple.

Suho didn't want power.

Didn't want glory.

He just wanted—

To survive.

To go home.

To see his family again.

That was all.

And yet—

He suffered.

More.

Every time.

Veno remembered the merges.

The repeated combinations.

The fragments returning.

His memories.

His swordsmanship.

His past.

He tried to teach Suho.

But—

> *No talent.*

So instead—

He found another.

Miho.

A genius.

Someone who could grow.

And still—

Veno continued preparing.

Aura techniques.

Training.

Even writing his own **Sword Art Book**.

Everything—

For Suho.

And now—

His power had returned.

But only temporarily.

It was fading.

Slowly.

Inevitably.

Veno looked at Suho one last time.

His hollow eyes dimmed slightly.

> *"I wish you survive this game…"*

A pause.

> *"…and meet your family."*

Silence.

Then—

> *"…But that is a lie."*

The truth was cold.

Unforgiving.

> *"You cannot beat this game."*

> *"You will die."*

> *"No matter how much you struggle…"*

A final thought.

> *"…it is all meaningless."*

> *"…a futile struggle."*
