She nodded.
Qin Wei stared at her for a few seconds and asked almost in disbelief, "You are Rank-8 now?"
Luna blinked twice and shook her head, "Of course, not. Just a few weeks ago, I broke through Rank-7. How could I become a Rank-8 so fast? I just broke through to the intermediate stage."
"Oh, it's just a minor breakthrough."
That's when Qin Wei remembered that people of this world often use the word breakthrough for even minor ones. Basically, from 1 to 9, there are nine mortal ranks in this world, regardless of profession. And between each rank, there are four stages: elementary, intermediate, advanced, and peak.
So that means Luna indeed has a long way to go before reaching Vanessa's rank, who is a Rank-8 warrior.
Seeing Qin Wei's reaction, Luna tilted her head and said with a bit of mischief flickering in her gaze. "Is that disappointment I sense in the young lord?"
He sighed and flopped back onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. "No... let's just say I envy your talent."
Silence stretched between them for a few seconds.
Then, under his breath, Qin Wei muttered, "If only the system had given me an Inspect Skill like all those overpowered protagonists, I wouldn't have to guess..."
Luna tilted her head. "Inspect skill? System?"
"Nothing. Forget it." He waved her off. "Just some morning ramblings from dreams."
She leaned in, grinning now. "So, anyway, Master, now that Master's wife is away, I can stay beside you, right?"
"Umm… Fine." Qin Wei had to accept in the end.
Luna grinned and then threw herself onto him, "Yay. Now, I'll never be separated from Maste."
Qin Wei could only scratch his cheek, blushing from the arousal he felt from the hug. Her upper body was pressing against him a bit tightly. "Well, you still have to take permission, though."
"Whose permission?" Luna asked, looking at him. Her face was just an inch from his while her hands were around his neck.
"Master," she whispered, her tone half-teasing and half-melancholy. "Madam Thea has gone back to the guild. Master is free to live however he wants. And the Master doesn't need to worry. Luna is there to fulfill your every need, whether emotionally or… physically..."
As Qin Wei stiffened slightly from her words, her seductive tone combined with morning excitement down below his waist increased his arousal to the peak, at once. "Look… even Master's sword agrees with me." When she sensed, she smiled and then planted her lips onto his.
Qin Wei shut his eyes, losing himself in lust in the end, and both of them started making out intensely. Their tongues started dancing around each other in no time while their clothing slowly fell to the floor, one piece after another.

Not long after this master and maid lover began their intimate session, outside, Vanessa was seen passing through the residence gate. However, when she entered his courtyard, a slight frown crept onto her face.
The two battle maids at the front bowed as she approached.
"Has the Master Icarus awakened yet?" Vanessa asked.
"No, Miss Vanessa. He hasn't stepped out since last night."
Vanessa glanced toward the sky, drawing her brows together. "It's already past sunrise. He slept early too… He should have woken up by now..."
Her fingers tapped against her sword sheath. Something didn't sit right. "Did he overwork himself and pass out again?"
As such a thought came to her head, without another word, she moved past the guards and walked into the residence.
She went directly to the study room. The faint scent of tea lingered in the air, but it wasn't fresh. She didn't care about it as he wasn't there and proceeded to the bedroom chamber.
She reached the door of Qin Wei's chamber and silently pushed it open without knocking.
And when she entered, Vanessa immediately froze in her spot, spotting a stranger straddling beside Qin Wei on the bed, both of them seemed naked and having sex.
Qin Wei was lying on the bed while Luna was lying beside him, with her leg over his legs. One of her hands was gently stroking his hand while the other was placed on his chest. Her face was on his, their tongues were busy wrestling against one another.
"Okay, enough with the teasing. Sit on it, now..." As Qin Wei groaned while his shaft twitched to make a move, Luna got up with a giggle, but just when she was about to proceed with the next step, her eyes fell on a figure who was standing not far away at the door, with her arms crossed and gazing coldly at them.
Luna immediately rolled to the side and covered her breasts with a scream, "Master…"
"Wha… what happened?" As Qin Wei was taken aback in surprise, a voice was heard from behind, "Me… happened… Master… Icarus..."
Qin Wei went stiffened for a second and stiffly turned his head. He jumped like a cat that was startled by a sudden poke. "Van... Vanessa? Whe... When did you arrive?"
Vanessa stormed forward, thudding against the polished floor. "Master Icarus..." she said, her voice dipped low but sharp as steel as she reached him, "what the hell are you doing behind Lady Thea's back? And… that's big..." Her eyes momentarily fell on his shaft that was hard as a tower, her cheeks flushed at once, but she quickly shook her head, before turning to Luna. "Who are you?"
"Uhh… she is… well… she is…" As Qin Wei seemed extremely stressed and looked like a guilty husband caught while he was cheating with another woman, Luna sat up on her knees. Covering herself with the blanket, she looked at her straight. "Luna," she said calmly.
"Personal maid to the Master Icarus. And if I remember correctly, aren't you a battle maid? Who are you to burst into his chambers without permission, like that?"
Vanessa's nostrils flared at Luna's words. "You.."
Her voice sharpened like the edge of a drawn blade as she said, "I am his protector."
Luna rose from the bed, slow and deliberate, her gaze never leaving Vanessa's as she countered. "With me at his side, he doesn't need another protector."
Vanessa stepped forward, her boots inches from the bed. "I was appointed by the House Lord. That's more than your self-declared title. And while Lady Thea is away, I'm also the acting lady of Moonvilla. No one approaches the Master Icarus without my permission, certainly not some stranger walking in unannounced and doing… doing such unspeakable acts."
A brief silence followed her statement.
At that, Luna suddenly thought of something and then said with a deep frown, "If I remember correctly, Master can hire any personal maids or even sexual maids with his own finances and have intimate sessions with them while your lady is away? That means… aren't you overstepping your boundaries?"
"But… I'm still the Acting Master of this Villa..." Vanessa flared up instantly. Her mana erupted from her, forming a layer over her skin, and her Rank-8 aura brought chills down his spine.
Qin Wei, caught between them like a scroll about to be torn in two, felt the cold sweat form on his back. For a second, he felt as if he was caught in the middle of a battle between a tiger and a phoenix.
"Ahem… Ladies." He cleared his throat. "Calm down for a second. Let me introduce you to each other properly."
Both pairs of eyes flicked toward him in unison.
