Raul POV.
Gabriel looked like she had collapsed.
She fell to her knees.
"Why… why… those poor children didn't deserve this."
I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Come on, Gabriel. The kids wouldn't want to see you like this."
"No, Raul. Why was this tragedy allowed to stay silent? Why no nobody remember what happened to those poor children?"
"It wasn't silent, Gabriel. The bastard burned to death, and he's still burning in hell right now." Gabriel trembled at every word.
For an angel, these things are heartbreaking.
The memories that had been forced into our minds were the children's last gift to us.
They didn't want our pity.
They wanted us to keep going.
Gabriel slowly stood up and wiped the tears from her eyes with her sleeve. "Let's go."
"Yes. Let's keep going for Lily."
I feel sorry for these children.
They remind me of what I felt in my own childhood.
That's why I keep swallowing hard.
I feel like throwing up.
It's not because of the torture they endured.
