'I know,' Aika interjected in a flat voice. 'But I thought you were off to somewhere here in the empire. How was I supposed to know you were going to a different world entirely?' She paused, and after a few seconds, blurted out in bewilderment, 'How did you even get there?'~~
'Well, uh…' He contemplated how to explain, but when he saw he didn't have the strength for a long discussion, he went straight to the point. 'Long story short. Since I could still feel some of my feathers here, I tried swapping places with Arlo. Honestly, I wasn't entirely sure it was going to work. Seems I've maxed out my luck stats.'~
It was quiet between them as Aika tried to process the sheer absurdity and carelessness of what he had just done. Eventually, her weary voice echoed again. 'So the reason you didn't bring me along was so that in case you died, I could bring you back to life here?'~~
