I stepped onto Floor 23, eager to test my C-Rank dart. The environment was a sweltering, volcanic cavern, the air thick with sulfur. The monsters were durable Lava Golems (Level 30), constructs of living stone and fire.
They were physically tough and likely highly magic-resistant.
I needed a different edge. I needed to see if the Rimefrost corruption could be safely weaponized.
I targeted the nearest Golem. I focused on the cold, volatile indigo energy in my core, attempting to manually cast a [Corrupted Ice Shard].
The feeling was still painful and unstable, but now that my base control had increased (thanks to the D-Rank mana dart leveling), I managed to hold the shard for a full two seconds before the discharge.
I hurled the tiny black ice shard at the Golem. It struck the creature's fiery chest.
HISS-CRACKLE!
The effect was dramatic. The black ice didn't just deal damage; it immediately opened a massive crack in the Golem's stone shell and extinguished the inner fire.
