The Montaigne Estate was a fortress of white stone and mana-reinforced steel. We were safe here, for now.
I stood by the massive arched window, watching the sun rise over the estate grounds.
Amaryllis was tending to Felicity, who was resting on a velvet chaise in the corner, still recovering from the mind control. Valentine stood guard over her, looking like a statue of regret.
Lucien was arguing with Jean Alef over a holographic map of the capital projected on the central table. Thomas and Rosalie were huddled at a side table, mixing potions with frantic speed, utilizing the Montaigne's superior alchemical stocks.
Ivan walked up to me.
"You're quiet," he noted.
"I'm thinking," I said. "The Goddess reset the timeline before because the 'Main Lead' died. We have to keep Leonidas alive. He is the keystone."
It doesn't matter now... I thought, looking at my hands. I will reveal a bit of everything, but they might not even understand.
"And Felicity?" Ivan asked.
