Chapter 35 - Gambling With Tsunade

Satoshi's team's investigation results were not ideal. The three spent an entire day in the town but couldn't find what they were looking for.

"It seems Jiraiya-sama's intelligence isn't very accurate after all."

Satoshi made a mark on a spot on the map, preparing to continue gathering information the next morning.

What surprised them was that even though it was dinner time, this small restaurant only had the three of them as customers.

Kakashi felt something was off, so he went out to investigate. What he didn't expect was that the liveliest place in town today was a casino.

When Satoshi heard this news, a bold idea suddenly popped into his head.

No way...

In the Ninja World, there are many famous figures.

Among them is Tsunade.

She was born into the noble Senju clan of Konoha and is related to the Daimyo of the Land of Fire. Moreover, she is an excellent medical ninja, respected by countless ninjas.

After all, anyone could have an accident in the Ninja World. Tsunade could very well be the lifeline in a critical moment.

Of course, Tsunade's fame wasn't limited to this. She is also a notorious gambling addict in the Ninja World. Unfortunately, her luck is terrible, which earned her the strange nickname of 'Legendary Sucker'.

Inside the casino, it was packed with gamblers.

"The Sucker! It's the Legendary Sucker."

"Hmph! As expected of her, she's already lost hundreds of thousands of Ryo in such a short time."

"So beautiful..."

Through a gap in the crowd, Satoshi saw a beautiful blonde woman.

He thought about going in to join the fun, but he was unexpectedly chased out by several fierce-looking bodyguards.

"Get lost, kid, no minors allowed here."

Satoshi once again questioned which genius came up with the order of the Ninja World.

Here, a four-year-old child can wield a sword and kill, be given the title of 'Genius ninja', and receive praise and respect from villagers.

Here, minors are absolutely forbidden from entering these strange places, and without parental accompaniment, they can't even buy a copy of Icha Icha Paradise.

Not even with extra money!

Of course, this rule didn't apply to Tsunade. Her first toy was a set of dice personally made by the great God of Shinobi, First Hokage Hashirama.

And thanks to this great man's efforts, Tsunade eventually became a gambling addict just like him. And a very bad one at that.

"I'm not playing anymore!"

Tsunade angrily left the venue, she had just lost her last bit of money. She even signed quite a few IOUs. However, Tsunade never pays her debts. She can evade her creditors by changing her appearance.

As Tsunade left, the gamblers reluctantly went home. They had made a fortune tonight and needed to find some girls to have a good time.

Tsunade said, "Shizune, give me some more money, let's go find a place for a drink."

Shizune, holding Tonton, couldn't help but scold Tsunade, "Tsunade-sama, I don't have any money left. We don't even know where tomorrow's accommodation fee will come from."

Tsunade waved her hand indifferently. "It's fine, I'll place a big bet tomorrow, I'm sure I'll win it all back."

Shizune was quite helpless, 'Win what? Today I almost lost Tonton.'

Just as the two were worrying about dinner, Satoshi approached them.

"Oh my! Respected Tsunade-sama, it really is you."

Tsunade was startled, who was this white-haired boy?

"Are you a ninja from Konoha?"

Satoshi nodded, then pointed to Kakashi and Tenzo who were walking over.

"We're out on a small mission and didn't expect to run into Tsunade-sama."

Tsunade glanced at them, then suddenly showed a strange smile. "Would it be convenient for you to treat me to dinner?"

Late at night, in a small restaurant.

Tsunade devoured three large bowls of rice, single-handedly polished off four or five large dishes, and then devoured a pig's trotters. Only then did she burp, still not fully satisfied.

"It feels so good to be full."

Satoshi asked curiously, "Is Tsunade-sama also on some secret mission? Why don't you even have time to eat?"

Tsunade's face flushed, too embarrassed to speak.

Shizune, however, finally found an opportunity to complain, "Tsunade-sama is busy gambling money every day, how could she have time to eat?"

"No, to be precise, I don't have money to eat either."

A black line appeared on the faces of Satoshi and the other two. They knew Tsunade liked to gamble, but they didn't know she liked it that much.

If she kept this up, the Senju clan's entire fortune would be squandered by her.

Yet, Tsunade was completely oblivious. After eating her fill, she was actually reviewing her game.

"Actually, I won quite a bit, but I just couldn't control myself and lost a big one in a single hand."

"Next time, I need to learn to bet in batches, and leave myself some room for error."

The others almost had the word 'Speechless' carved onto their foreheads.

Sister, you've lost so badly, and you're still planning for next time?

[Ran into big brother Hashirama's granddaughter, Tsunade, didn't expect her to have picked up a gambling addiction just like big brother.]

[Sigh, there's no helping it, I guess I'll play along with her.]

[New Mission: Win against Tsunade in gambling.]

Hmm...

Satoshi didn't really understand gambling. However, winning against Tsunade shouldn't be a problem, right?

After eating and drinking their fill, Kakashi paid for a room for Tsunade, right next to theirs.

Shizune said, "Tsunade-sama, I think we really shouldn't gamble anymore."

Tsunade ignored her. "Shut up, Shizune, go take a shower and sleep."

Knock. Knock.

Shizune went to open the door and saw Satoshi, grinning widely.

"Tsunade-sama, would you like to play a game with me?"

"Play?"

Two hours later.

"Yay! I won again."

Tsunade unceremoniously took the last stack of money from the table.

"Kid, want to keep playing?"

Satoshi felt like he had been set up.

Nearly a million!

That was his entire damn savings!

Losing it all was one thing, but he hadn't won a single damn hand.

Seeing the fuming Satoshi, Tsunade's mood brightened considerably.

"Want to continue? If you lose again, you'll have to take off your clothes, you know."

Satoshi thought Tsunade had a screw loose. He was still a child, could he handle such a big 'vehicle'?

Besides, there were outsiders here.

Surely not all three of them... Bah, damn it, what am I thinking?

Satoshi stood up angrily. "Wait, I'll come back when I've raised enough money."

Tsunade shrugged indifferently, her meaning very clear.

Which one of us is the 'sucker' here anyway?

But as Satoshi turned to leave, Tsunade suddenly noticed Satoshi's blade.

"Wait, kid, let me see your sword."

"Why? This is my life-saving tool, Tsunade-sama. You wouldn't be so heartless, would you?"

Despite his words, Satoshi still handed over the sword.

Tsunade caressed the hilt, there was a small die carved into it.

She had secretly carved it when she was very young, which had infuriated her granduncle. Later, it was lost on the battlefield.

"Where did you get this sword?"
