Chapter 7 - Land Of Origin—Simulation

This Land of Origin was a mystical realm that was accessible only to Awakeners. It was said to resemble a unique world that contained a variety of creatures, including ones that humans never knew existed.

All sorts of myths and legends seemed to have come to life in such realms.

What linked the origin realm to an Awakener was the Mark of Origin.

Adam glanced down at the back of his right hand, where a pupil-less eye lay. The eye seemed to be staring into his soul, making him feel slightly uncomfortable.

It was said that the representation of everyone's talent was similar to their mark of origin, and Adam couldn't understand why his mark appeared like this.

It hadn't been there before—Adam had never gotten a tattoo, but this mark had appeared right after his Awakening and had remained ever since.

Curiously, this mysterious "tattoo" would only reveal itself when he wanted it to.

The Mark of Origin had two primary functions. First, it served as a key, allowing an Awakener to connect their consciousness with any origin realm which they wished to enter.

Since no one else possessed the life simulator, he couldn't tell if this was something unique to his life-simulator talent or something unique to him.

He had already scrolled through the forum, not finding any useful information in the meantime.

Adam no longer dwelled on the information of the forum.

Just then…

Ding ding!

Adam's eyes turned in the direction of the door as he heard a clicking sound, then Aurora stepped inside with a warm smile on her face which soon turned into a frown.

"Huh? Babe, you haven't yet stepped onto the path of cultivation? I was thinking of taking you to clear some dungeons in a day or two…"

Adam scratched his head awkwardly hearing her words. He couldn't tell her he had used it for a simulation, so Adam could only reach out to her with a frown.

"My talent seems to absorb more mana stones than normal…"

Aurora's eyes glowed in understanding. "So that's the case? Then how many mana stones do you need, babe?"

'How helpful!' Adam felt the urge to rush up and kiss her. Just as he had said previously, dating this rich girl was truly the best luxury of this his second life.

If he wasn't with her, where would he have obtained the mana stones to conduct his first simulation or even the subsequent ones?

Adam thought for a moment before ultimately coming up with an answer, "As many as you can get."

"I see," Aurora exhaled lightly, then stepped a few feet away from him and waved her hand, causing ten shimmering crystalline mana stones to fall to the ground.

"This should be enough to help condense your awakening energy and become a rank 1 Awakener. Absorbing too much mana from energy stones can cause your awakened core to explode and is very harmful to a body who isn't fully awakened, no matter how profoundly unique the talent is," Aurora gradually explained.

Adam nodded in understanding then hugged her warmly, flashing her a smile.

"Thanks, babe, you're the best."

Aurora, still in his tight arms, muttered, "Huh? Are there others you're comparing me with?"

Adam chuckled at her antics. "Perhaps…"

"Damn! What did you say?"

Adam separated from their hug and kissed her lightly on her forehead. "I'm just joking, babe. I bought some foodstuffs on the way back from the organisation. I plan to go take a shower…"

Aurora nodded at his words, feeling the warmth of his lips. "Let me go quickly prepare something for dinner, you must be tired after today's stress…"

"How helpful," Adam muttered faintly.

Aurora only chuckled then began undressing, her fair, tender skin coming into view.

Catching sight of her twin peaks poking out slightly from her bra as she removed the crop shirt she wore, he felt his breath grow hot.

He had the urge to devour her right there.

It was as though Aurora could feel his emotions; she flashed him a cheeky grin.

Adam let out a chuckle, then picked two mana stones, removed his shirt and pants, and stepped into the shower.

He would leave the battle with Aurora for later tonight; then he would truly take her to the moon and back. For now something else awaited him in the form of a simulation.

The system panel was already hovering in his line of sight the moment he picked up the mana stones.

[Detected sufficient mana stones to conduct the next paid simulation.]

[Do you wish to conduct a paid simulation?]

Adam grinned at the system's words, stepping into the shower and feeling the warm water trailing down his skin.

The feeling was particularly unique as he immersed his mind in the blue luminescent screen in front of his line of sight.

'System, start the paid simulation.'

Adam gave the order and watched the system flash with a new line of words.

[Please choose a talent for the simulation.]

[Hopeless (green talent): in everything you do you will gradually become so unsuccessful that you lose hope and motivation, ultimately giving up.]

[Dreamer (red talent): with this talent you can subconsciously cultivate any technique mastered in your dreams, gaining double the time for cultivation. After splitting more of yourself in the dream realm you can gradually form dream clones that will cause your cultivation speed to increase drastically. Side effect: high chance of losing oneself within the illusory dream world.]

[Master of All (green talent): you are extremely good with your hands and are the master of all.]

[Arm Grip (red talent): the grip of your arm is enhanced drastically and, while holding anyone, you can even grip onto their cultivation techniques.]

[Sound Affinity (green talent): your talent while cultivating in the sound elemental technique is enhanced greatly.]

"Oh my god!" Adam drew in a sharp breath.

What the fuck were these talents drawn?

His luck literally exploded and also exploded along with his brain, which had short-circuited!!!

"Babe, is something wrong?" Due to her enhanced senses as an Awakener, Aurora heard Adam's loud shout and couldn't help but be curious.

"It's nothing, just realised I had gotten bigger," Adam subconsciously answered, coming up with this as the only way to shut her up.

Just as he predicted, Aurora's face flushed lightly and she no longer communicated with him, focusing on cooking her meal. However, if one looked closely at her they would notice a glimpse of anticipation hidden in the depths of her eyes.

'Now to analyse the talent and select one for the simulation…' Adam glanced over the talents and began to analyse them…
