The supposed bugs were tiny beings enshrined in a green light that seemed pure and filled with vitality. They had wings that were almost transparent and ethereal, as if an illusion, with beautiful, curved lines upon them.
The beings had thhe structure of a humanoid with human features; they had green eyes with haur that was a very light blue ,their skin was olive and it glistened. The only thing that differentiated their physiques from humans was their extremely long ears.
"What kind of creature is it?" Feng Wuji asked as he approached her from behind.
"I dunno. They have human features, but they're so small," Su Mei said as she brought one of the creatures out of the net and observed its characteristics.
"What?? Let me have a look," Feng Wuji said as he grabbed the creature from her hands with haste.
"Hummph, so rude," Su Mei rolled her eyes.
He raised it up to his eye level, observing it carefully. The pitiful creature was trembling like crazy.
"I've never seen a description of this creature in all my studies," Feng Wuji said.
"Me neither, but I've heard of something like this," Su Mei commented, but she looked lost, as if trying to remember something.
"Hmmmm?? Where?" Feng Wuji asked, his gaze shifting from the creature to her.
Feng Wuji's gaze broke Su Mei out of her reverie. His purple pupils had gained a red tint and seemed menacing.
'The baleful Qi is actually affecting him that much??' she thought internally, her eyes flashing as she considered solutions. 'Maybe I could use some Fire Essence Fruit to create a formation that purifies some Qi, but I need a place with great heat for it to work.'
"Hello?!!!!" Feng Wuji's voice echoed in the labyrinth as he looked at her with curiosity, anxiousness, and a bit of rage.
Su Mei broke out of her reverie for the second time. Silly me, she thought.
"Yes, I actually have the book with me. It contains descriptions of various creatures, plants, and resources..." she said, her eyes twinkling.
"Then bring it out. I don't have the heart to listen to your rants right now," a snarl came from Feng Wuji, and it seemed aggressive.
"Fine, whatever," Su Mei sighed, knowing that he wasn't mentally alright now.
She tapped her storage ring and brought out a book. It had a yellow cover, and on it were the words "A Collection of The Ten Thousand Realm Creatures". It seemed really old but looked put together.
Su Mei opened the book and scrolled through it. She scrolled and scrolled until she got to the small humanoids category, where she found the creature's name and origin.
"It's a Moira Fairy," she said, reading the name from the book.
"Huh??" Feng Wuji asked, his eyes calming down a little, with curiosity overtaking the rage in him.
Su Mei read from the book, which said:
"The Moira Fairy is a special kind of fairy that's born from a single Moira Nature Spirit who is their matriarch. These fairies are blessed with the abilities to control wood energies. They cultivate and follow the beast cultivation system, and they can help in the forming of the Psyche Palace. They also possess a core that can be used as a treasure of the mind."
Feng Wuji's eyes blazed. "Treasure of the mind?" He looked greedily at the Moira Fairy, which was trembling. He gathered his Qi to dig out its core, but Su Mei shouted, "Stop!!"
"What?!" He turned to face her; the red, demonic tint had returned to his eyes.
Su Mei took three steps back, frightened by the ferocious look on his face. She took a breath and said, "You didn't let me finish. The Moira Fairies are creatures born from the essence of the moon mixed with wooden energies. They can communicate with humans after a binding," Su Mei said, looking at him with calm eyes that hid her fear.
"Why would I want to communicate with it when all I need is its core?" Feng Wuji asked.
"Well," she pointed at the book again, "the Moira Fairies produce a dew that can help one cultivate a first-class Psyche Palace, and it's at their base."
"First-class Psyche Palace!!!"
"Ohhh, interesting. But I need it to cure myself right now," Feng Wuji commented.
"We could bind them to ourselves and use them to get to their homes and have some of their special dew. That'll cure your injury and help us cultivate first-class palaces in the future," she said.
"Ohhh!!" Feng Wuji said, seeming rather disappointed that he couldn't kill this fairy.
Su Mei turned the net into a jar, and the other fairies were kept inside. She collected the one from Feng Wuji and pricked her thumb with her hairpin. She let the blood that came out fall to the fairy, and it consumed it. She brought out a mat and sat down to bind the fairy, while Feng Wuji just stood there watching.
She closed her eyes. After a few hours, she opened them. She had bound the fairy to her and found out a grave secret. Her eyes and her body was filled with sweag and goosebumps she quickly steadied hersel, got up and sent the mat back into her ring.
"I've found their base," she told Feng Wuji.
"Then let's go," Feng Wuji said.
Su Mei nodded, stepped forward, and started walking, with Feng Wuji following behind her.
In the distance, the young man with black hair and cold eyes came upon the rock Feng Wuji and Su Mei had rested on earlier, before the battle with the serpent.
"Nnnnff unnffff," he sniffed the air. "You're close. I can smell your disgusting stench!! Better be prepared for your oncoming doom."
He left the rock and started walking in the direction Su Mei and Feng Wuji had passed during their flight.
As he passed by a tree, a hiss came. "Ssssssssssssd!" A serpent lunged at him. The serpent was huge, about three feet bigger than the one that attacked Feng Wuji and Su Mei earlier.
The black-haired boy didn't have any expression on his face as he saw it lunge at him. He just raised his hand, and a small strand of Qi flashed into the serpent's head. The serpent collapsed mid-air and landed on the ground with a bang.
"Hummph, a Verdant Jade Demonic Serpent?? That's quite rare. I'll keep it," he said as he summoned a wave of Qi to lift the serpent up, and then he sent it into the bracelet on his wrist.
"Now, where was I? Ohhh, yeah. I was on my way to kill that scoundrel."
