Chapter 41 - Billy Milly // Standoff

Eleven year-old Billy Milly was born within the southwestern side of Polar Town, known for its rural setting.

Yes, you are currently about to read about a flashback that hardly anyone cares about. Just bear with me and trust me, it provides good context about what happens next.

…Well, kinda. Anyways…

Growing up, Billy enjoyed the close companionship of his neighbors and friends, but little by little, he had gotten an ego spike.

Why? Because everything that he did was top notch.

Winning races with his friends after school became easy for him. His intelligence and diligence always kept him at the top of his class. Kids always tried to squeeze themselves into his friend group just to be noticed and talked to by him.

Then, that day came where he played Ice Hockey for the first time against other kids, where he had been defeated with ease at nine years old-

Brother, you're nine. Of course you'd get bitched. Is this guy mentally okay?

-Nevertheless, he tried to succeed at this game multiple times, with many people's eyes fixed on him, with thoughts that requested other's validation.

Look at me. Praise me. Applaud me.

Yet no matter how hard he tried, as time passed, there was soon someone who was better at him at every aspect.

The teacher's pet crushed him at the end of term test, and he had been lowered to the top twenty ever since. The new kid in town won races and ran laps around him. A transfer student took away his crush and his circle of friends.

He was now mostly all alone, but yearned for the popular life that he once had.

He had to excel at something, something that he'd pour all of his effort into to make kids respect him.

Then, he played Laser Tag for the first time, and despite coming second, the thrill that he had when losing to the best inspired him to push even harder.

He continued to play, and after several games of winning, he began to try other variations of rules and arenas.

Finally, the Polar Town Fair had been opened, which included a new Laser Tag arena, and he entered.

With a new circle of friends, he was determined to show off and cement his legacy as the coolest kid in Polar Town.

"I'm taking on Liohime's apprentice. I want you to duel Liohime."

"Hah?"

In the midst of the second phase from the Laser Tag game, Billy sat up and faced the young woman, narrowing his left eye at her in disgust.

"I said-"

"Yeah, I heard what you said,Miss Big Tits."

"Er, my name is Tish-"

"Nobody cares!" he interjected with howling laughter. "You come here, talking to me in the middle of the second to last phase, trying to ask for a favor? You're lucky that I hate having to eliminate bad bitches like you."

"Um, I'm sorry, but how old are you?"

Tisha Marsey scratched her head, confused by the eleven year-old's behavior, but quickly outstretched her hand to her right and fired a laser beam into the forehead of a younger opponent who dashed past them.

PING!

"Not bad, girl. Still, not that impressive considering I crushed you during the game before this one."

Tisha ignored his haughty yapping and continued, "I have a good feeling that you and I, along with Liohime and his 'apprentice' will be the final four. If you don't wanna beat Liohime, that's fine. I'll just defeat that girl by herself-"

"Woah woah," said Billy as he raised up his hands with a smug face, "First of all, i don't know this random fucker called Liowhateverhisnameis. Also, if you're talking about trying to beat the dark chocolate beauty, I call dibs. Emily's mine."

Tisha cocked her head to the side, processing the new name.

"Emily? So that's her name."

"Yeah, and I'm gonna destroy her in a rematch whenever we meet again, so back off."

"Hm…well, Liohime's one of the best there is, you know. I know him. He's a Laser Tag legend."

"Wha….are you for real?"

"Of course."

Not. Of course not. She was lying through her teeth.

"You swear…?"

"On my five brothers and two sisters' lives, I swear it."

She had no fucking siblings. Nice thinking, though, I can't lie.

Billy averted his eyes and thought about the proposition before replying.

"I can take you down right here and now if I want to, and then go after this Liohime guy, you know."

"Try me. I won't lose to you twice. And if you really wanna fight me and lose to me here, I'll have all the enjoyment of taking down Liohime and Emily myself.

"Tch…..fine. If you're able to beat Emily while I crush this Liohime guy, you'll be worthy of my time."

"Jeez, so edgy. It's a deal."

Billy had to win here. He had to defeat the legend known as Liohime in order to cement his legacy.

Thus, with the man himself standing in front of him, he inspected his physique from head to toe and smiled.

"Just as the rumors say, you're him."

Liohime blinked.

Uh, what is this kid muttering about?

"What the hell is a pre-teen doing in the final four? Anyway, that must mean that Tisha is in the Glassy Field then, huh?"

He pursed his lips, but kept his focus on the young boy before him.

Despite not knowing what schemes Tisha was planning, he needed to put faith in his Magical Beast Girl, like he had been doing all along.

"Fuck it. Kid or no kid, you're still my adversary right?" Liohime spoke with a nervous grin. "Let's have some fun, my friend."

"Tch, I can't wait to see how you hold up against me," was the harsh reply.

And just as the battle commenced, Liohime prayed that Shihon would come up on top in her matchup against Tisha.

You can do it, Shihon! YOUR PARTNER HAS FULL FAITH IN YOU!

"Why the fuck are you here?" Shihon demanded.

"Why am I here? To defeat you, of course."

"....Hahah, ah, fuck."

Shihon wiped the sweat off of her brow and winced.

Billy set me up with this harlot? That fucking brainless kid.

Aiming to find out why, she tried to pry for an answer.

"The so-called ex of Liohime Kitagami, purposefully wanting to fight me? I can't say that I'm surprised actually. I'd want to find out about his new girlfriend too if she looked twenty times more stunning than me."

"Girlfriend, huh? Interesting. Guess I learn something new about Lita every day."

Tisha leapt down perfectly from her position above and stood up, her eyes tinged with frustration mixed with annoyance as she spoke with a low tone.

"I got a bad hunch about you, someone who just showed up into Lita's life in an instant out of nowhere. If my hunch is right, after I beat you here, you'll soon be the first one that I'll crush pertaining to my future goal."

"Oh yeah? Let me see your 'skills' for myself."

Immediately, the two women charged at each other with colliding emotions, signalling the start of the final fight.
