"Screech!"
A bright-colored van shot out diagonally!
The door slid open, and dozens of men in black suits held machine guns and fired wildly.
"Da da da!" Bullets rained out. Sean saw this, and noticing that several of them were still wrapped in bandages, he sneered. Without a care, he slammed on the gas and rammed straight into them!
The combination technique of [Ken], [Ten] + [Ren] was primarily for all-around defense.
The moment Tsubone noticed the van appear, she had already given Sean a heads-up, telling him to charge right ahead!
"Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge." The transportation vehicle materialized by it indeed couldn't be operated by Tsubone herself, but with Sean, a strong person whose "qi quantity" had already broken the first-level limit, maintaining [Ken] was an extremely easy task!
"Boom!" The sports car met the hail of bullets, as if covered in a layer of bulletproof armor, and rammed savagely into the van!
The men in black inside screamed and were sent tumbling. Sean forcefully pushed them into a nearby trash heap!
"Fido! Turn the damn steering wheel!" Eugene—the one Silva had referred to as a first-level limit breaker—kicked open the deformed car door, crawled out of the trash heap in a sorry state, and immediately pulled a handaxe from his back waist.
Greed had blinded his eyes, making him only focus on the sports car. Now that he had calmed down, he realized: a person who could drive a sports car for a joyride in a godforsaken place like Meteor City... how could he be an ordinary person?
The [Ken] that enveloped the entire car body was clear proof!
"Stay in the car and don't move. Otherwise... if you die, don't blame me for not warning you!"
After instructing Tsubone to watch Sarasa, Sean hadn't expected some idiot to be so impatient to bite the hook before the bait was even cast.
'Fine.' There was no reason not to accept a dish served right to him. Sean opened the car door, got out, and kicked up, crushing a black-clad man's head. He glanced askance at Eugene and grinned, "It seems you're the one who injured my dog!"
Eugene said nothing. A trace of Nen quietly appeared in his pupils. He used [Gyo] to observe Sean and grinned as well. "Has no one told you... never talk nonsense on the battlefield?"
"Don't move!" Just as Eugene's voice fell, a pistol was suddenly pressed against the back of Sean's head. Manda—the other female Nen user Silva had mentioned—had appeared behind Sean like a ghost. She blew softly against his neck, "Kid, did you know... you've ruined your big sister's makeup?"
"That was a masterpiece I spent two hours on. Tell me, how should you compensate me?"
"Young Master!" Sarasa, clutching the car window, covered her mouth. Phinks, Uvogin, and Franklin, who had been left in the dust by Sean, arrived late. They snuck behind a pile of trash to peek. They hadn't expected Sean, who had single-handedly taken them all down, to be on the verge of getting G-G-ed right at the start!
Uvogin cursed inwardly, 'Damn it! I thought this guy was so tough? In the end, doesn't he still need us to make a move?!'
He secretly gestured to Franklin and Phinks, ready to grab Sarasa and run if the situation turned bad. Little did they know... a faint electronic arc flashed. These clever little guys had long since been spotted by a certain old man.
"Ho ho. These kids from Meteor City don't tolerate outsiders in their midst."
"It seems Sean was right not to agree to open that kid's aura nodes last night."
In the small cabin on the back mountain, Netero had woken up early. He took a comfortable sip of the coffee Zigg had just ground, and while he was at it, he greeted Maha, "Morning, old man."
Maha dug in his ear, flicked his finger, and a fresh, warm piece of earwax sailed in a beautiful parabola, ruining the fine coffee placed in front of Netero.
"Oops. Sorry. I thought you had left, old man."
'This dog-like thing... still thinking of getting a free coffee from the Zoldyck family? In his dreams!'
Netero: "..."
His face darkened, but he didn't get angry. He glanced at Maha. "If I had left early, I wouldn't have been able to see this good show, old man!"
'You're still惦記 (diànjì - thinking about/coveting) my grandson, indeed.' Maha snorted coldly, lay back on his rocking chair, and reached out to take the surveillance glasses Zigg handed him. He put them on and scanned briefly. Sean was being held at gunpoint, his hands raised in panic. "Don't kill me! I surrender!"
'Heh, you're giving up pretty quickly! Why don't you show the same spirit you had when you rammed the car?'
His energy deflated. Eugene sneered as he walked up to Sean, patting his face with the back of his axe. "I thought you were so tough. Turns out, just like that four-eyed dog of yours, you only know how to flee in disarray!"
"So, you admit you're the one who injured Gotoh?"
"That's right, it was me! What can you do to me?"
"Bang!" A gunshot tore through the sky. Eugene shot Manda a look. "Why'd you kill him so quickly? I wasn't done playing yet!"
"Blood... Eugene, you're bleeding!" A man in black crawled out of the crushed van, and as soon as he opened his eyes, he saw a spurt of blood from Eugene's shoulder.
Eugene frowned. "What blood?" He turned his head to look. A round hole had appeared on his left shoulder at some unknown point. Only then did he realize... the one who had been shot wasn't the kid who had surrendered, but him!
"Ah—" The realization hit him. Eugene screamed and grabbed his shoulder. "You crazy bitch, what's wrong with you?!"
'Shooting your own man?!! Are you blind?'
"It wasn't... I didn't do it!" Manda cried out.
"Damn you! Look at your gun! It's pointed at me!" Smoke was coming from the muzzle. Manda lowered her gaze. She noticed that her gun had, at some point, bizarrely slid away from the youth's ear. Her pupils shrank!
It really... was her who did it. 'No, that's not right... How did I suddenly lose control of myself?' Manda was terrified. She suddenly found that she seemed to have lost control of her body. Her consciousness was clearly still there, but she couldn't feel her hands or feet. She knew this was bad!
Uvogin, Franklin, and Phinks, who were hiding in the trash heap, and Sarasa, clutching the car window, all saw this. They were also stunned by the sudden gunshot!
They were completely bewildered, not understanding what was going on. Their wide-eyed, stupidly cute expressions were reflected in the eyes of the old men, making Netero and Zigg unable to hold back their laughter.
"Ho ho. It's the Shadow-Imitation Jutsu, you silly kids." Netero stroked his beard and laughed loudly. "And they even call themselves Sean's manga fans. If Sean knew they were this careless, he'd definitely curse them out for being fake fans."
"Heh. Ignorance is no sin." Zigg glanced at the shadow-rope connecting Sean and Manda, and his squinted eyes crinkled with laughter. "One can only say, that brat is too insidious. With this Shadow-Imitation Jutsu out, one will have to be distracted and watch their own shadow when fighting him."
"This way, by splitting one's attention, one will naturally be at a disadvantage."
