"Zane! Open the door! You know you're in trouble!" Adam knocked on his son's door, but there was no response or reaction at all.
His voice didn't sound angry, but worried. He saw how weak Zane was.
And he had just slapped the boy hard. The image of Zane's body staggering and falling made his chest tighten with regret. He didn't expect to raise his hand and hit his beloved son.
If Laura saw him, she would definitely curse him.
"Zane..." Adam's voice softened, but still there was no response from inside. He wanted to apologize, but the words were so difficult to say.
