Chapter 78 – Possessing Ning Rongrong
Night slowly settled over the academy. After finishing their cultivation, Qi Tian and Zhu Zhuqing washed up and returned to their rooms to rest.
Today's training intensity wasn't particularly high, so Qi Tian hadn't bothered preparing medicinal bath ingredients.
"I wonder if I'll possess someone again tonight?" Qi Tian murmured with anticipation.
Every time he completed a mission, the system would issue a new one.
Now that he'd finished Zhu Zhuqing's possession mission, theoretically, a new target should appear tonight—along with another generous mission reward.
But as midnight approached, the system remained silent. Instead, Qi Tian was awakened by a faint sound outside his room.
"Who?" His eyes snapped open as he activated his perception.
And then he realized—the source of the sound… was Zhu Zhuqing again.
Just like last time, she snuck to his window under the cover of darkness, then quietly slipped inside.
"Is she addicted to this… or just sleepwalking?" Qi Tian thought with a strange expression.
Still, he shut his eyes and pretended to sleep like before.
Before long, Zhu Zhuqing stood beside his bed, silently gazing at him. She crouched down and, just like last time, reached out to gently touch his cheek, lost in her thoughts.
At that moment, Qi Tian suddenly opened his eyes.
Zhu Zhuqing jolted like a startled kitten, instinctively trying to flee, but Qi Tian was faster. He grabbed her wrist before she could escape.
A sensitive agility-type battle soul master couldn't possibly break free from someone like Qi Tian, whose martial soul was a body-type.
With a swift tug, he pulled her directly into his arms and wrapped his hands around her.
Despite her alluring figure, hugging her felt like holding a soft, warm cat.
"Zhuqing, this is the second time you've come to my room in the middle of the night. What exactly are you trying to do?" Qi Tian whispered into her ear.
Last time, he let her off because she still had a fiancé.
But now Zhu Zhuqing had already cut ties with Dai Mubai and ended their engagement.
Whether Dai Mubai recognized it or not didn't matter. Between her and Dai Mubai, the engagement was already null. She and Dai Mubai had nothing to do with each other anymore.
"Last time… you weren't asleep?" Zhu Zhuqing's face flushed red instantly.
She had assumed her movements were quiet enough to avoid detection. She never thought she had been found out.
"You touched my face… and held my hand. How could I possibly sleep through that?" Qi Tian asked helplessly.
Zhu Zhuqing's ears turned even redder. Embarrassed, she burrowed deeper into his chest.
"Come on, tell me. Why sneak into my room so late at night?" Qi Tian tightened his arms around her slightly.
"I… I don't know either…" she whispered.
Her face pressed against the side of his neck, greedily inhaling his scent.
Qi Tian cultivated the Blue Silver Grass King martial soul; his natural aura carried a refreshing, clean fragrance. Zhu Zhuqing adored that scent.
"After you left my body last time… I couldn't sleep. I couldn't wait until the next morning to see you. I wanted to look at you with my own eyes…" she recalled softly.
During the possession, she believed the version of Qi Tian she saw wasn't truly "real," so she wanted to see him personally.
"So that's why," Qi Tian thought.
"And this time?"
"Mm… I still don't know…" Zhu Zhuqing lowered her voice, unable to explain her own impulse.
But Qi Tian understood—she was addicted to sneaking into his room at night.
"In that case… since you like my room so much, why don't we just sleep together from now on?"
"...Mm." A tiny, shy response came from his arms.
Qi Tian almost laughed out loud. He thought he would lose his chance to appreciate her figure again, yet she had delivered herself right into his arms.
"Alright, sleep early. We still have cultivation tomorrow."
"And don't forget your goal—changing the fate of the Zhu Family. Don't let your sister wait too long."
After speaking, Qi Tian naturally wrapped one arm around Zhu Zhuqing, while the other hand wandered upward, climbing the "snowy peaks."
The always-cold and aloof Zhu Zhuqing was burning hot at the moment, but she didn't resist. Instead, she nestled obediently into his embrace.
A cold-faced, warm-hearted cat was exactly like this.

Morning — Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect
In the lavish castle that served as the sect's residence, a series of knocks echoed outside one of the rooms.
"Miss Rongrong, it's time to wake up and cultivate!" a servant called out.
"So annoying! Can't I sleep a little longer?" Ning Rongrong—genius girl of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect—complained irritably.
"One day, I'll run away from home and see if you still dare to force me to cultivate!"
She had long been fed up with this kind of life, where every day was either cultivation or even more tedious cultivation.
Her only joy was pulling on Grandpa Gu Rong's beard whenever she got the chance.
Despite the complaints, Ning Rongrong still obediently followed the sect's arranged training schedule most of the time.
After venting, she was about to get up, wash, and head to clan school for morning lessons.
But suddenly, she realized—she couldn't move.
"Sleep paralysis?" Ning Rongrong recalled a few stories she had read.
During sleep paralysis, the mind was awake, but the body couldn't move. It matched her current situation perfectly.
A sudden wave of fear surged in her heart—far greater than the fear she had of her strict father.
"No way… I'm a soul master. How could I have sleep paralysis?"
She knew sleep paralysis wasn't caused by ghosts—just the consciousness waking earlier than the body, usually a health-related issue.
As a soul master, her physical condition was far superior to normal people. Something like this shouldn't happen.
Right then, she felt "herself" move.
Qi Tian sat up from the bed and—as usual after possessing a new person—instinctively touched "his" chest.
'Hmm… smaller than Zhuqing's, but softer. Hard to say which feels better,' Qi Tian evaluated calmly.
'So, who did I possess this time?'
His real body was already cultivating with Zhu Zhuqing. Fortunately, he had long adapted to a one-soul-two-bodies state and could multitask without affecting training.
'Huh? Why am I… touching myself?'
Ning Rongrong, though young, knew far more than children her age. She wasn't shy—only confused.
'Did I really get possessed by a ghost? And a lecherous one at that?' She trembled in fear.
Qi Tian stood up and walked toward the dressing table.
He looked into the mirror.
The girl reflected that she had shoulder-length golden hair, delicate facial features, and skin as soft and glossy as peeled lychee.
He pinched her cheek lightly. A faint pain came back. Her skin seemed so tender that even a gentle squeeze could wring water out of it.
"So soft… this skin is amazing," Qi Tian sighed in admiration.
Hearing that, Ning Rongrong completely broke down.
She was sure of it now— a "ghost" had taken over her body.
"You… who are you? Can you please leave my body?" Her voice trembled, on the verge of crying.
