''What is this place'' Alek asked shortly after he and his master arrived
''This is Adventurer's Stop'' Said the man in a hoodie
Alek began to look around. It was a place unlike any he had seen before. He was standing in the middle of a massive street filled with vendors trading weird fruits, vegetables, rocks, gadgets and many more. It was made up of beige bricks covering the pavement, walls and ceiling.
''What is this place'' He asked again
''This is Adventurer's Stop, like I said'' The man in a white hoodie replied a little annoyed ''It's the best place for adventurer's to gather. It's as safe as can be. Many use it to rest or trade their stuff. Some settle down and become shop owners.''
''This is so awesome'' Alek said in awe
''You can look at it later. We need to go.'' Alek's master pointed at a sign ''See, it says that the teleportation spots are over there. Let's go.'' He began to walk quickly, making sure Alek follows closely behind
''Can't I look around a bit longer? Why are you in such a hurry, master?'' Alek asked while looking around
''I really don't want to talk about it. You can ask all these questions when we g-''
Alek heard his master gasp. He tried to look him in the face, but his master was nowhere to be found. He then looked head on and saw a man in what looked like a police uniform walking towards him. The man stopped before Alek and stared him in the face.
He examined his face and saw a handsome looking man in his late twenties or early thirties. His hair was brown and so were his eyes. His clothes were also in shades of brown and stood out from the rest of the people there. His very serious expression was what stood out the most.
After a few seconds passed Alek finally spoke:
''Is something wrong?'' He said a little scared
''Oh! Sorry, I just didn't expect a kid to show up around these parts." The man said with a smile
All the fear that Alek felt was washed away by the way the man spoke. He could feel that this man was trustworthy. He looked around and indeed he didn't see a single child except him. The people looked very rough and even had scars on their faces and bodies.
''I'm kind of lost.'' Alek said a little embarrassed
''Oh!'' The man reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a map ''Here, you can keep this.''
Alek took the map and said ''Thanks, but I don't need a map. Me and my master were looking for a way to get home, but he suddenly disappeared.''
''Your master?'' replied the man in the police uniform ''I guess we have to go look for him.''
all of a sudden someone yelled from the crowd: ''Stop him!!''
Alek saw a man running as fast as he could, holding a bunch of expensive looking items. He glanced at the police officer who looked very calm despite the situation. He looked back at Alek and said:
''Wait a second, if you may.''
The man sunk into the ground in an instant. Alek heard noises below the ground and saw the thief visibly panic.
In a flash the man wearing a police uniform appeared before the thief and pinned him to the ground.
*THUD
''You are under arrest'' He said
Alek rushed over to the police officer and shouted in admiration:
''That was awesome. How did you do that?''
''That was my technique. I can move around in adventurer's stop much easier than any thief.''
The crowd wasn't disturbed in the slightest by what happened, as if it was a regular occurance.
''Anyway'' The man continued ''I have to take this guy to prison, I wish we could've talked longer, but I've got a feeling we'll be seeing each other again'' He said with a smile ''You can look for your master on your own. With me around, noone can hurt you. If anything happens, be sure to yell as loud as you can, Got it?''
Alek nodded his head
''Well then, I'll be off.'' The man said with a stern look
''BYEEEE!'' Alek yelled while waving goodbye
In an instand Alek was grabbed by someone and pulled to the side. It was his master.
''SHHHH'' he said very quietly ''Let's go''
''Who was that?'' Alek asked
''He was one of the founders''
''The founders?''
''The founders of adventurer's stop.'' Said the man in a white hoodie ''There were 7 people who founded adventurer's stop around 10 years ago. They are incredibly strong, with powers beyond your imagination.''
''Wow!'' Alek though for a moment ''And how are they compared to you, master?''
The man in the hoodie was lost in though for a moment ''In my current state I would stand no chance, but....'' He was not able to finish his sentence before they arrived.
''This is it, the teleportation spots''
Alek saw a bunch of spots with weird symbols on the ground like the one before and labels above them.
''It's this one'' Said the man in a hoodie
Alek's master pointed to the spot which was labeled ''Earth 5''. After walking over to the spot and waiting for 10 seconds, he stated ''teleport''.
In an instant, Alek and his master were standing in a forest.
''Wait.. you didn't need to say a password?'' Alek asked
''Passwords are only needed, so that normal people from earth don't accidentally teleport to a different planet. There is no need for passwords when you are already on a different planet.'' Said the man in a hoodie
''Where are we anyways?'' Alek asked
''We are on earth now. We will have to walk about 20 minutes to get back where we came from, though. It's because of how the teleportation spots are connected.''
''I see''
All the emotions from the adventure that Alek had just been on came back to him. All the excitement, fear, the discovery of something new. It was kind of overwhelming. Alek's Master noticed him being lost in though and decided to ask:
''So how was it? Do you want to give up on being an adventurer now?'' He said with a grin ''It was scary wasn't it?''
Alek though for a second longer and then shouted:
''It was amazing!''
On the way back he gave his thoughts about the journey to his master. He told him how he felt running away from the plants, sneaking throught the bushes, seeing adventurer's stop, talking to the police officer. He talked about it all the way back. His master listened to him carefully. When they finally arrived back near the alley, he gave out a big sigh and said:
''I was worried you would say stuff like that'' He then pulled out a piece of paper and exclaimed ''This is your final challenge, If you can get your parents to sign this, I'll make you my official student and I'll teach you how to fight.''
Hearing that made Alek's eyes light up
His master continued: ''You saved my life so I owe you one. But If you prove to be a nuisance I won't be afraid to kick you out'' He said with a serious expression
''YES MASTER!'' Alek yelled ''Can I see you tomorrow?''
''Don't you have school?''
''I'll see you after school.''
''5pm then''
''YES MASTER'' Alek shouted again ''See you!'' He said while waving goodbye
''Bye, kid'' His master responded
After Alek disappeared into the distance, the man in a white hoodie put his hand on his head and said to himself:
''What have I gotten myself into?''
