Chapter 37 - OPRK Chapter 37: The Barrier, A Show of Force

The Barrier-Barrier Fruit… one wondered if it was a rule-based ability.

Oden, having sailed with Whitebeard and Roger, was hailed by Oda as the strongest in the world upon his return to Wano, yet he couldn't break it.

So, the current Kaido likely couldn't break Semimaru's barrier either.

Sure enough, Kaido, unwilling to give up, swung his spiked club against the barrier, creating a deafening clang, but only sparks flew.

"I refuse to believe it! Come on, Noro, blast it!" Kaido said through gritted teeth.

Noro and Kaido had practiced combination techniques, merging their Conqueror's Haki.

This was why their massive fleet dared to roam the New World. Even the world's strongest man, Whitebeard, would have to endure a blast of their combined power.

"Let it be," Noro said, waving his hand dismissively. He had no real interest in shattering the barrier.

Hearing Noro's words, the Kurozumi Family, especially Orochi, felt a surge of elation.

As Semimaru had said, no matter how strong the opponent, they couldn't break the barrier.

Kaido frowned. "Just let them go like that?"

"Of course not."

Noro sneered.

"They like to confine themselves within a barrier? Let them. Why bother breaking it? We'll hold a feast here for a few days, and they'll starve to death."

That was why Noro thought Oden lacked brains. Unable to break the barrier, he compromised with Orochi.

Surround the city, cut off their supplies, understand?

But alas, this little island nation lacks historical depth. It's understandable.

As for the so-called resistance from the people and samurai if Kaido were to take over Wano…

Noro could only scoff.

This country was modeled after that real-world island nation, so their character was undoubtedly the same.

A cheap bone, with inherent servility in their blood.

The more you beat them, the more willing they were to offer you everything.

The reason Kaido hadn't subdued Wano in twenty years wasn't because he was too cruel to them. On the contrary, it was because Kaido was too kind.

Kaido, hearing Noro's method for dealing with the Barrier-Barrier Fruit, laughed shamelessly. "Wororororo… That's what I thought too."

The Kurozumi Family's expressions instantly froze.

Ignoring the Kurozumi Family, Noro slowly approached Oden, who was kneeling on the ground.

Tsk, tsk, tsk, what a mess!

Never thought Kaido was a bomb disposal expert. Kudos to Kaido.

Passing Enma, Noro casually picked up the fallen blade.

The moment he grasped the hilt, Enma seemed to awaken, frantically absorbing Noro's Haki.

So, this is the blade said to be able to destroy even hell?

Noro's Haki erupted instantly, a torrent of power surging into Enma.

Absorb? You absorb! I'll overload you!

Enma hummed under the onslaught of Noro's powerful Haki, the blade trembling violently, yet it continued to greedily absorb.

Just as Enma reached its limit, an enchanting light suddenly bloomed from the blade.

Noro's lips curled into a smile. He sensed that Enma had completely submitted to him.

Heh, trash. Even if you submit, I don't want you!

Oden's eyes widened, staring in shock at the scene.

This…

He had subdued it just like that?!

How strong was this man's Haki?!

Noro, wielding Enma, stood before Oden, looking down at him.

Enma flashed, and Oden's other leg, the one he wasn't kneeling on, was cleanly severed at the knee. Blood gushed forth, and the wounded stump crashed to the ground.

"Aaaah…!!!" Oden screamed in agonizing pain.

Good, now he's kneeling.

When Oden knelt before him, words failed to describe Noro's feelings.

His elation was something others couldn't comprehend, a sensation that shot straight to the top of his head, as if every pore had opened in exhilaration.

Kaido tilted his head, watching silently.

Oden had already been defeated, and he had lost interest in him.

Besides, he could sense that his vice-captain had a deep-seated loathing for Wano.

He didn't know why, but what did it matter? It was just one country. If Noro sank the entire nation, he could always find another territory.

"Why! Why?! Why are you doing this to us!" Oden roared in anguish, questioning him.

"Ah, actually, I'd like to ask why too?"

Noro raised his hand and with another slash, severed Oden's left hand, the one holding Ame no Habakiri.

Then, slash after slash after slash.

Hands, feet, ears, eyes, nose, tongue… one by one, they fell.

Soon, Oden was reduced to a sightless, speechless, deaf, immobile being, incapable of any action…

A human pillar!

Noro opened his mouth and unleashed a torrent of flames, burning away Oden's hair and eyebrows.

Hidden behind the barrier, Orochi and the others were pale as corpses, a chilling dread reaching their very spines!

Orochi was the worst, his legs giving way, nearly collapsing to the ground, a yellow liquid soaking his pants, flowing onto the ground, his eyes filled with immense fear.

Higurashi was also ashen-faced, clutching the hem of her garment tightly.

She suddenly regretted coming to find Kaido.

As the vice-captain had said, even if Kaido couldn't deal with them for the moment, how long could they stay within this barrier?

Kaido was somewhat surprised by Noro's cruelty. What had this trash country done to Noro to warrant such hatred?!

He suddenly didn't want this country so much anymore. Maybe he should sink it, just to vent his vice-captain's anger.

Ashura Doji, already at his limit, caught a glimpse of the scene and his heart shattered.

His focus broken, King's longsword swept across, and a wide-eyed head rolled onto the ground.

Noro took out his Den Den Mushi and called Queen.

"What's up, Vice-Captain?" Queen, sitting in the cockpit, chewing on a cigar, asked with a grin.

Noro didn't waste words, giving a direct order. "Queen, have someone bring a jar and a carriage!"

A strange order, but Queen didn't ask questions, turning to Aharu, who had already slain Denjiro, and instructed,

"Aharu, you're fast. Go find a jar and a carriage and deliver them to the Vice-Captain."

Aharu nodded, kicking up his hooves and galloping towards the town to find a carriage and a jar, quickly delivering them to Noro.

Noro placed Oden in the jar and loaded it onto the carriage.

He would take Oden throughout Wano…

Parading him through the streets!

They wouldn't submit to the Beasts Pirates?

He, Noro…

Didn't believe it!
