Aspera's Liutenants finally arrived to the scene.
They were so shocked they didn't even call her back but got to work immediately.
As Kage takes out his surgical tools and bone saw he turns it on looking Osprey right in the eyes worried for his life. "Are you sure you want us to cut you out now? His voice cracked "We can hold out… I can do a simple blood transfusion while we wait for Solomon. We have the same blood type."
Osprey calm shows no sign of fear. "Do it, cut it now."
The saw screeches against the cemented metal pipe, sparks spitting as it bites deeper. The pipe had torn straight through Osprey's abdomen, ripping open flesh and muscle like wet paper. A giant hole remains where his stomach should be, blood pulsing out in thick surges that turn dark against the gray dust.
Cement clings to the open wound, packed into the torn tissue, turning the blood into a black-red slurry.
By all rights, the shock alone should have ended him minutes ago. No man should be awake—let alone breathing—with half his insides crushed and spilling through a hole big enough to see daylight. And yet he clings on. Barely. That's why he's the acting Elite Guard Rank 1. Because even with a death wound that would kill anyone else outright, Osprey refuses to die.
As Osprey's lifeforce slowly fades away Vera starts to work on the wound using ointments and cauterization to slow and stop bleeding.
Osprey, still observing the area, Osprey whispered asking Vera and Kage if they are the only ones here.
Kage was curious asking why Osprey's Liutenants were no where to be found but each word was crucial.
Kage threw the cemented metal pipe to the side says "Yes, the troops are stationed going towards the base. Aspera explained to us the opponent, his area control is ridiculous so the more people we brought—
"The worse it would be for us and more casualties. But luckily you already defeated him." Vera followed up finishing Kage's sentence. She gave her medic (Petera) a package of wrapping. As Blazer short brunette, calculated a combat medic wrapped him in anti infection bandages made by Solomon himself.
Solomon's name carried more weight in medicine than any hospital board or textbook. His equipment: Scalpels, clamps, antiseptics—were revolutionary, distributed to doctors and tucked into first aid kits across the america. Even if you are not a professional, with Solomon made medical gear you could successfully save lives.
As the bandages wrap around Osprey's wounds it felt like it burned his insides.
It's like swallowing a cup of molten lava, it burns through your stomach into your lower regions. The pain was uncomfortably bad.
Kage grabbed onto his personal medic's shoulder. Roy,hears the wound sizzling from touching the damp bandages soaked in anti infection fluid and cringes to the bone just imagining the pain.
Roy flinched hard, stomach twisting. He had seen plenty before. He'd been the medic for his family's entire unit — he had healed them, carried them, closed their eyes when they died. He thought he was numb by now.
But this…this made his heart slam against his ribs.
He had never seen someone still alive in this kind of condition. Not breathing like that, not moving like that, not clinging to life through sheer force of will.
For the first time in years, Roy felt the cold bite of fear slide through his chest. But he rose to the challenge, the least he could do was face his fears like this "man" Infront of him was doing.
Osprey ignored his presence sensing something close, he thought to himself. 'These infantry medics cant defend themselves they should leave.'
Osprey's eyes stayed wide open, unblinking, fixed on Mori's corpse in the distance. Even battered and barely conscious, he could feel something. Maybe he had damaged his brain?
Suddenly cutting through the air like a superman, something fell out of the sky like lightning. Dropping cracking the muddy concrete beside Mori's corpse.
Vera and Kage hear something in the distance but it's so far away they pay no attention focused on Osprey and his health.
However, for better or for worse, Osprey had good eyes. Even over a Kilometer away he could still see.
Brushing the mud off his shoes, A crown glints as the figure lands, the sound of boots cracking against wet stone. Young— far too young to wear that kind of regal weight, yet he bore it with an arrogance. His hair falls in loose, golden-brown strands across his brow, framing a face that looks sculpted for portraits and coins.
His perfection is what you'd expect out of your textbook slave master or colonizer even.
But his eyes, held no warmth; they were disturbingly dead. They scan the bloodied ground with the detachment of a predator.
His cloak, lined with fur, drapes over his shoulders like the mantle of a monarch, but the edges are stained with travel and battle. The crown itself, was in fine gold studded with dark gems.
But the scariest part was his weapon.
His trident looked deadly the points stained in blood.
He does not announce himself. He does not need to. The air pressure dips.
Osprey passes out in shock as his eyes go white, realizing who arrived. Vera and Kage are stunned "What just happened?"
As Roy removed his medical gear he gave it to Petera who tied a knot. "He's going into hypervolemic shock. We have to act fast."
But the truth was this wasn't shock. It was death, creeping closer literally.
