Chapter 44 - Chapter 44 Nightmare Palace

Based on the information he received, Sean went to search for it.

After several transfers through the teleportation array, Sean finally found the Nightmare Palace.

From afar, he saw four large characters.

[Nightmare Palace]

The four characters, shrouded in a faint blue mist, were carved on the lintel of the palace gate. The script was ancient, exuding a chilling ghostly aura.

It didn't look like a good place at all.

"This must be the place."

Sean muttered to himself and stepped towards the palace.

The gate of the Nightmare Palace was tightly shut, the dark gate flickering in and out of existence, very strange.

Looking at the peculiar gate before him, he felt a bit stumped.

He had just tried knocking, but his hand passed directly through the gate, only to be bounced back after hitting some kind of substance.

"What's going on?"

Sean frowned slightly. "Should I contact Sister Melin again?"

Just as he was considering taking out his crystal to call Melinoe, a series of "Ooh woo~ Ooh woo~" sounds suddenly rang out, like crying, or the sound of wandering ghosts.

Sean's body stiffened!

He turned around, his gaze fixed on the dark area in the distance.

A figure shrouded in thick black mist appeared before him... "Is... it... a... guest...?" The figure's speech was halting.

The voice also seemed to emanate from the mist, sounding very hazy.

The figure shrouded in thick mist moved from far to near, gradually arriving before Sean.

As the thick mist gradually thinned, the figure's true appearance was finally revealed: it was a Little Girl with faint blue hair!

The Little Girl was about eleven or twelve years old. Her attire was unclear, but through the dense, faint mist around her, he could see that she had a pair of sharp canine teeth, visible when she opened her mouth.

What surprised Sean the most was that the Little Girl's eyes were black! Her pupils were completely invisible, utterly dark without a hint of light.

"Excuse me, are you the Lord of the Netherworld Dream?" Sean was slightly startled when he saw this little one, and asked tentatively.

"Oh~ no... I... am... not..." Although her speech was slow, the Little Girl's reply was quick.

"Then can you take me to see the Lord of the Netherworld Dream?" Sean asked, frowning.

"Alright..." The Little Girl nodded, then turned around, extended her jade-like arm, pointed to the palace gate behind her, and said, "Come in."

There was no identity verification ritual; she simply asked a question, and the Little Girl led the way for him.

Following this strange Little Girl to the gate, Sean saw that she didn't open the door but simply passed right through it.

"Huh?"

Sean was dumbfounded at the sight, then said somewhat anxiously, "Hey, little sister, how do I get in!"

This Little Girl could pass through, but he didn't have that ability!

The Little Girl turned around and pointed to something beside him.

Sean looked to his side in confusion and soon noticed a cluster of dark mist floating nearby.

Could he get in by relying on this thing?

Without thinking much, he touched the mist with his free hand and found that it was solid.

He pulled it closer, and the mist quickly enveloped his entire body.

Seeing that he was ready, the Little Girl pointed to the door again.

Sean tried it and found that he could pass through the palace gate very smoothly!

Entering this palace, the scene inside suddenly opened up, a completely different feeling from the outside.

The palace interior was very clean, with many lights embedded in the surrounding walls, illuminating it as bright as day. However, these lights were not pure white, but rather had a faint, dark glow, which, under their illumination, created a unique charm.

A very deep and profound feeling.

Moreover, there was a lot of mist pervading the area, but it was very thin, so faint that one wouldn't notice it without a careful look.

"Tea...cher... guest... is... here..."

Reaching the center of the main hall, the Little Girl shouted loudly.

"Good, go play."

Soon, an aged voice came from the depths of the main hall.

Upon hearing this, the Little Girl immediately became happy, turned around, and scampered away, disappearing from Sean's sight.

This little one really is a bit peculiar.

"You've arrived."

Soon, the owner of the voice turned his attention to him.

"That girl little melinjust told me you would come, so I had someone go ahead and bring you in."

Sean listened, then looked up.

He saw an old man in a black robe walking towards him. The old man's face was aged, but his eyes were very clear and bright, giving the impression not of an old man, but rather of a strong man in his prime.

"Hello, may I ask if you are the Lord of the Netherworld Dream?"

Sean asked politely.

"Yes, I am the Lord of the Netherworld Dream."

The old man nodded and smiled, "But you can also call me Mabuz. Lord of the Netherworld Dream is just a respectful title outsiders use for me."

"Little melin just praised you highly; I'm very curious to see what kind of young man she admires so much..."

After speaking, Mabuz's gaze swept over Sean's entire body, and he quickly noticed the Sunflower Sean was holding in one hand, and the expression in his eyes changed.

It became one of keen interest.

The Sunflower also very spiritedly turned towards Mabuz.

"This thing? Interesting. You created it?"

Mabuz asked with interest.

"Yes."

Sean nodded. "This is called a Sunflower."

"Can I see it?" Mabuz asked.

Upon hearing this, Sean walked towards the other party and handed over the Sunflower.

"This little thing is very interesting."

After receiving the Sunflower, Mabuz examined it for a moment and quickly saw through its essence.

Mabuz held up the Sunflower, and at the same time, all the lights in the main hall instantly extinguished.

At this moment, the Sunflower sensed the arrival of "night."

Although it had no concept of night, the disappearance of light made it feel a sense of danger.

So, its entire body became incredibly bright, like a small sun, illuminating one-third of the hall's space.

"If I'm not mistaken, this Sunflower can absorb sunlight, store it within itself, and also has healing properties?"

Mabuz looked at the "glowing" Sunflower in his hand and asked Sean.

Exactly right!

That's too incredible!

Although he couldn't perceive the power level of this old man before him, he didn't need to guess to know that the Lord of the Netherworld Dream was no simple individual.

"That's right, you're correct; its abilities are as you described."

Sean nodded.

"Very impressive biological creation ability, to connect the sun and healing abilities together, what ingenious thinking!" Mabuz's eyes were very bright, and he was very satisfied with Sean's idea.

"Did that girl Melinoe tell you my identity?"

Then Mabuz asked again.

"No."

"You must be a Lord, then. Allow me to introduce myself. I am a Purple-(Radiance)-level Biocreationist, specializing in the biological elements of mist, tentacles, ghosts, illusions, and dream entry." After introducing himself, Mabuz suddenly added, with a mysterious smile on his lips, "You must be very curious about my relationship with Melinoe, aren't you?"
