The sixth day of the Uninhabited Island Special Exam.
In the morning, the sky was filled with heavy, dark clouds, and the Class C campsite was in a state of chaotic commotion.
A heavy rain fell last night, and the campsite was significantly affected as a result—the stove had turned into a pool of muddy water, and the camp was full of mud and puddles.
Fortunately, Class C was well-prepared. They used waterproof tarps as needed, protecting most of the firewood. Although the campsite looked rather battered, it wouldn't affect their daily life.
Out of necessity, the students of Class C had to wake up early. The boys cleared out a shelter, took out axes, saws, and various tools, and prepared to convert it into a kitchen, while the girls handled various chores, which need no further elaboration.
Just as everyone was busy, a helicopter landed in the center of the camp. A staff member jumped out, asking in a serious tone: "Where is student Yamada?"
"I'm here." Albert Yamada emerged from a tent, his two-meter tall frame looking exceptionally sturdy.
The staff member paused for a moment, looking him up and down. Seeing no signs of injury or illness, he spoke, slightly exasperated: "According to the rules, anyone who calls for a helicopter for an emergency rescue must go to the cruise ship for a medical examination and withdraw from the special exam."
"Sorry." Yamada detected the annoyance in his tone and scratched his head in embarrassment.
He really couldn't be blamed for this. Just moments ago, inside the tent, Kakeru Ryūen had taken his safety wristband and casually sent out an SOS emergency signal, completely disregarding the waste of public resources.
Just as he was thinking this, Kakeru Ryūen walked out from the tent behind him, casually tossing the safety wristband in his hand to him, and said in a calm tone: "Go back and enjoy yourself. Your mission is complete."
"Albert, eat two extra steaks for me!" Ishizaki heckled loudly.
"You can do that? Please take a bath for me!"
"Then... get a massage from a pretty lady for me?"
"Hiss~ I didn't expect you to be so shameless, Komiya."
While the others jeered, Albert wasn't annoyed. He replied with a "Got it," then boarded the helicopter with the staff member, quickly disappearing from everyone's sight.
"I didn't quite expect Ryūen-kun to change leaders so soon," Hiyori said softly in her mind.
Symon, feeling the damp air, pondered and guessed: "It's probably because of the weather. It feels like it might rain this afternoon. Better to switch early and just coast."
"..."
The girl secretly rolled her eyes and didn't respond to his comment.
As the two were chatting idly in their minds, Kakeru Ryūen happened to walk over and said in a calm tone, "There's something I want you to do."
Symon instantly seized control of the body, crossing his index fingers. "Dame. I refuse."
His tone was so firm that even Kakeru Ryūen was momentarily stunned.
Hiyori giggled to herself internally: "Ara~ Mr. Ghost, your reaction is a bit over the top."
"I don't care. Overtime is impossible, not in this lifetime. Especially on a rainy day," Symon refused adamantly.
"Mr. Ghost, be a good boy~" Hiyori whispered softly.
"..."
While they were speaking in their minds, Kakeru Ryūen had already recovered. Ignoring her words, he said casually, "Relax, I just want you to come with me to get the key card from Kazuma Sakagami. It's fine if you don't want to go."
With that, Kakeru Ryūen started walking. Symon hesitated for a moment, then followed him to the homeroom teacher's tent, where they happened to run into Kazuma Sakagami, who was just about to head to the camp for roll call.
"You two... Is there something you need?" Kazuma Sakagami asked, a bit surprised.
Kakeru Ryūen, with his hands in his pockets, made his demand bluntly: "I had Albert withdraw from the special exam. Give me a new key card."
Kazuma Sakagami pushed up his glasses, glanced at the two before him, and asked casually, "Have you decided who the leader will be?"
Kakeru Ryūen replied offhandedly, "Me, of course."
Symon raised a hand to his face, unable to watch Kakeru Ryūen's performance any longer.
He understood now. Kakeru Ryūen didn't care who came with him. As long as he could confuse the issue and cause anyone watching the surveillance to misjudge, his objective would be achieved.
Just as he was thinking this, Kazuma Sakagami had already prepared the new key card and handed it to Kakeru Ryūen.
Then, as expected, after Kakeru Ryūen took the key card, he casually tossed it to Hiyori Shiina and said with a smirk, "The rest is up to you."
Symon glanced at the name "Kakeru Ryūen" on the key card, slipped it into his pocket, and replied nonchalantly, "I know."
"..."
Meanwhile, elsewhere—
In the Class D campsite, Ayanokōji looked at Horikita, who had fallen into a puddle and was covered in mud. He extended his hand and said calmly, "Sorry, I didn't do it on purpose."
Horikita looked up at him with a cold glare, then struggled to her feet on her own with great effort, not uttering a single word.
After all, having pushed through for six days with a fever, the fact that she was still conscious was already quite incredible. She didn't have any extra energy to be angry with him.
"By the way, is this really okay?" Ayanokōji asked, feigning nonchalance.
"..., what do you mean."
"You probably don't know... that Class C has a camera on our check-in machine."
"That's impossible!" Suzune Horikita's head snapped up, her pupils constricting in shock.
Before her, the brown-haired boy pulled a black camera from his pocket—one she was all too familiar with, the very one she had been diligently pointing her face at for "facial recognition" every day.
"This is it. You should be familiar with it..."
"I..." Suzune Horikita bit her lip, her eyes dimming as she spoke, "Why did I push myself this hard for so long?"
"You've already done very well. You can rest now."
"..."
Suzune Horikita didn't reply. She rested her chin on her knees, her gaze lowered, lost in thought.
Across from her, Ayanokōji said no more, simply watching her in silence.
Time passed slowly. After an unknown amount of time, Kiyotaka Ayanokōji took two steps forward, easily lifting the now-unconscious Suzune Horikita in his arms like a princess. After a moment's thought, he headed in the direction of the cruise ship.
When he reached the beach, a few staff members stationed under a tent saw Ayanokōji carrying someone from a distance and quickly brought a stretcher to meet him. "What happened to her?"
"She's an emergency patient. She has a fever and has lost consciousness. Please take her for treatment."
Ayanokōji explained the situation, placed the girl on the stretcher, and said calmly, "I need to get back for the upcoming roll call. I can leave her with you, right?"
"Of course."
Well, I've successfully gotten rid of the biggest burden, the boy thought to himself.
