Chapter 76 - Chapter 76

Orion bursts through Pokémon Home's doors, Pikachu sparking fiercely on his shoulder. Latias shimmers at his side in human form, red hair whipping in the electric gusts. Barbara follows close, hand clamped on Froakie's Poké Ball. Blue-white lightning cracks across the street. Lampposts shatter in explosive bursts. Civilians scatter in panicked waves, screams piercing the crackling roar.

Electro hovers mid-air, neon suit pulsing with stolen grid power. He unleashes erratic blasts. Transformers fry with acrid pops. Cars levitate, spin wildly, then crash in theatrical heaps. Ozone thickens the air, sharp and metallic. He poses grandly, arms flung wide, hair spiking like a crown of fury.

Barbara whirls toward the crackling sky. "Electro? Here? What's he doing crashing Pokémon Home?"

Latias tenses beside Orion, golden eyes flashing with distaste. His energy disrupts the harmony, she projects softly, psychic hum sharpening to a blade.

Electro hovers lower, arcs snapping off his fists like fireworks. Streetlights explode in showers of glass. He locks eyes on Orion's calm stance, Pikachu sparking defiantly.

"You must be Orion Oak." Electro's voice booms, theatrical and smug. "Hand over those Pokémon, and maybe—just maybe—I spare you the blackout of your life."

His voice booms, amplified by thunderous reverb, dripping dramatic flair and raw desperation for the spotlight.

Electro, once Max Dillon, craves validation through spectacle. His electrokinesis amplifies with emotional surges, sparking citywide blackouts. In the United Superverse's lighthearted chaos, he shines as a flashy but strategically sloppy villain.

Pikachu's cheeks glow golden, tail rigid. Latias's golden eyes narrow, psychic hum building. Barbara thumbs her ball, stance shifting to agile readiness. Orion's Aura flares subtly—a blue veil rippling outward, steadying allies' hearts amid the frenzy. He plants his cane, voice cutting clean through the storm.

"Thunder seeks the path of least resistance, yet you rage against the wire. Pokémon choose their bonds. Turn back, or taste the countercharge."

Electro laughs, a crackling bellow that shorts out nearby signs. Sparks chain toward them. Pikachu leaps forward. Barbara releases Froakie in a red flash—the bubble frog lands silent, eyes locked. Latias levitates slightly, mist gathering in her palms.

Lightning claws closer. Electro grins, coiling for the strike.

A webline lashes out from the storm's edge. It snags a levitating sedan mid-spin. Thwip-thwip. The car slams down gently, tires screeching on asphalt. Another line flares white, weaving into a shimmering shield. It intercepts Electro's jagged bolt, sparks exploding in a harmless cascade.

Spider-Man drops from a lamppost, flipping twice before sticking the landing. His lenses narrow at Electro's glowing sneer.

"Hey, Max! Ever think about a power nap? You're overcharging again—city's gonna bill you for the surge!"

Electro snarls, hurling twin arcs. Spider-Man vaults sideways, firing webs in rapid bursts. Lines crisscross the street, forming barriers that corral screaming civilians toward alleys. A family ducks behind a web cocoon as lightning glances off, melting pavement into glowing slag.

"Stay behind the webbing, folks! I've got the juice-head!"

Pikachu zaps a stray bolt mid-air. Latias weaves mist barriers, her form blurring. Orion nods sharply, cane planted firm. Electro laughs, a thunderous crackle, coiling for a bigger strike.

Barbara seizes the chaos. She darts into a shadowed alley, hoodie snapping like a cape. Her fingers hit the utility belt's hidden latch. Click. A sleek purple bodysuit unfurls from compressed panels, zipping over her frame in seamless ripples. Reinforced plating locks at shoulders, knees—yellow bat emblem gleaming under sodium flicker. She yanks the cowl down. Red hair spills free in a fiery cascade. Escrima sticks magnetize to her gauntlets with crisp snaps. She flexes, cape stiffening for glide.

Batgirl crouches low, escrima humming faintly. She scans the fray—Spider-Man dodging blasts, Pikachu sparking defiance. Electro poses atop a crumpled bus, electricity coruscating like a crown.

Time to flip the circuit.

Electro unleashes a barrage. Bolts chain across web-shields, frying lines in bursts of ozone. Spider-Man webs his feet mid-leap, yanking himself clear.

"Nice try, Sparky! But I'm not grounded yet!"

Orion senses her shift through Aura—a focused spark igniting nearby. Pikachu's ears twitch. Latias tilts her head, mist coiling tighter.

The villain roars, power surging wild. Streetlights detonate in fiery blooms. But allies converge, banter cutting the storm's rage.

Batgirl vaults from alley shadows. Escrima sticks hum in taser mode. Her cape snaps taut as she flips into the fray.

Spider-Man widens his lenses in surprised delight. "Batgirl! We haven't teamed up in ages!"

"Gotham's been too quiet without your web-slinging antics anyway."

They exchange a quick nod. Spider-Man fires webs in rapid bursts. Thick strands lash Electro's feet to street poles. Batgirl closes the gap with acrobatic spins. She thrusts a baton forward. It zaps his extended arc mid-blast. Electricity scatters in wild forks. Pavement scorches black. Signs short out in comedic spark bursts.

Electro roars frustration. Raw power surges through his legs. Poles bend with metallic groans. He rips free. Bolts chain toward them anew.

"Tag-team the human fusebox?"

"You read my mind!"

Spider-Man leaps high. He slings a webline around Electro's wrist. Batgirl cartwheels under the blast. She hurls an escrima stick. Spider-Man grapples it mid-air. The tethered baton yanks Electro off-balance. It grounds him hard against a hydrant. Water erupts in a foamy geyser. Sparks dance across wet asphalt.

Batgirl's tactical acrobatics and non-lethal escrima complement Spider-Man's improvisational webs. They form an efficient street-level duo, honed by countless Gotham-New York hero crossovers.

Electro snarls. His body crackles brighter. Streetlights explode overhead. Shards rain like fiery confetti. He hurls a massive arc. It shears a mailbox in half. Spider-Man dives behind a web shield. Batgirl rolls sideways. The bolt gouges the wall behind her. Brick dust clouds the air.

"Nice dodge! My turn!"

Spider-Man vaults forward. Webs cocoon Electro's arms. Batgirl flips onto a car hood. She launches twin batons. They crackle against his chest plate. Electricity rebounds in harmless flares. Electro staggers. His rage builds. Power overloads his circuits. He blasts free with a thunderclap.

CRACK-BOOM!

The shockwave rattles windows. Cars skid on oily streets. Electro hurtles backward. He slams into Pokémon Home's outer wall. Plaster cracks. His suit flickers erratically. He rises, eyes wild with humiliated fury.

"You think this is a game? I'll black out the whole block!"

Pikachu sparks on Orion's shoulder. Latias summons glowing mist. Orion grips his cane tighter. Aura pulses blue around them all.

Electro coils again. Lightning gathers in a deadly dome.

One of Electro's wild lightning arcs slams into Pokémon Home's reinforced wall. Stone cracks with a thunderous snap. Debris flies in jagged chunks. Faint alarms blare from within. Orion's rare fury ignites. His Aura surges visibly blue, a radiant veil coiling around him like living wind. Eyes narrow with protective wrath.

"Pikachu, stand ready."

The cap-wearing Electric-type leaps forward. Poised determination fills its stance. Cheeks bulge faintly, golden sparks dancing.

Electro scoffs at the unassuming yellow mouse. He clearly underestimates its potential.

"Compared to Pikachu, you're nothing more than a disposable battery."

Electro becomes angry. His form crackles wildly. Hair spikes higher. Neon suit flares brighter.

"You little—I'll fry that rat!"
