"Satoru, the concept behind your new jutsu—it's almost identical to Lord Fourth's Rasengan. Why not learn it directly from him? Given your relationship with the Hokage, I doubt he'd refuse to teach you."
Shisui wasn't entirely clear on how deep the connection between Satoru and the Namikaze family ran, but judging by the fact that Satoru had already learned the Flying Thunder God Technique, it was clear that the Hyuga and Namikaze families were on very close terms.
If Minato was willing to pass down Flying Thunder God, then the Rasengan certainly wouldn't be off-limits.
Why go to such lengths to reinvent something so similar?
But Satoru only shook his head lightly.
The Rasengan, in the hands of the Fourth Hokage, was already a perfected jutsu. Beyond the basic form, there were even stronger versions such as the Big Ball Rasengan.
However, its power still didn't satisfy Satoru.
In his eyes, Rasengan was not a decisive, lethal technique. Any opponent who could be killed by a Rasengan could just as easily be killed by a kunai.
Even later variants—like Naruto's Wind Release: Rasenshuriken, which added elemental transformation—were far from ideal. They required long charge times, making them completely incompatible with Flying Thunder God.
Satoru wanted something different.
He sought to amplify the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist—to create a large-scale technique capable of destroying an enemy's body while simultaneously severing the chakra network beneath their flesh.
And above all, it needed to work seamlessly with Flying Thunder God for instant release.
To meet those criteria, the Rasengan simply wouldn't do.
The Hyuga Main Branch possessed a secret technique known as the Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists—a pinnacle example of chakra shape manipulation.
Satoru planned to use that technique as his foundation, enhancing both its range and destructive power.
"I know the Rasengan," Satoru said at last, shaking his head as he replied to Shisui. "But that's not what I'm after. For that level of strength, our Hyuga clan's Twin Lion Fists already suffice."
As he spoke, chakra surged around Satoru's right hand, condensing into the form of a roaring lion.
He struck the ground with a single punch.

The earth erupted.
Shisui instinctively raised an arm to shield his face from the flying dirt and stones.
When the dust settled, he saw Satoru standing at the bottom of a crater nearly four to five meters wide—only his head visible above the rim.
That one strike alone had created such devastation that even Shisui and Guy were left momentarily speechless.
Never had they heard of Hyuga taijutsu producing such raw destructive power.
"This is the Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists," Satoru explained as he leapt lightly out of the crater. "Its external impact isn't even the main point. The real purpose of this technique is to align with our Gentle Fist, to destroy and seal an enemy's chakra network upon contact."
He glanced at the gaping hole he'd just created, his expression showing faint surprise.
He had only used about eighty percent of his strength—yet the result was far greater than he'd anticipated.
It felt as if something inside his body was… changing.
The sensation was subtle, nearly imperceptible—but unmistakably real.
He couldn't identify the source of that transformation, but he knew one thing for certain: it was a good change. His body was growing stronger.
"Hmm… if you can already do that, then learning the Rasengan really would be pointless," Shisui admitted with a nod. "It's also a non-handseal technique, but yours naturally complements your Byakugan far better."
Then his eyes brightened as he added, "What if you try adding nature transformation to your chakra on top of the shape manipulation? Strengthen what you've already mastered first—then develop a new jutsu afterward. If you can successfully merge both transformations, your understanding of ninjutsu will deepen immensely. That might make creating new techniques far easier."
"What do you think?"
Having seen enough of Satoru's progress, Shisui offered his suggestion sincerely.
He felt Satoru was pushing himself too hard—too fast. The boy's obsession with power bordered on unhealthy.
To Shisui, Satoru's current strength was already astounding.
With Flying Thunder God, the Eight Gates, and the Hyuga clan's Gentle Fist, Satoru already ranked among the strongest of Konoha's jonin-level fighters.
At his age, that was beyond extraordinary. There was no need for him to drive himself further.
Shisui had witnessed firsthand Satoru's brutal training schedule. Even he couldn't match the boy's intensity. Perhaps only Might Guy could endure such a regimen.
And how many Might Guys existed in all of Konoha?
If the two of them ever fought seriously, Shisui secretly suspected that Satoru might actually be the one to win.
"Add chakra nature transformation to Twin Lion Fists, huh…" Satoru murmured thoughtfully. "You're right—that makes sense."
He trusted Shisui deeply—not just because they were comrades, but because Shisui was a genius, a prodigy of the Uchiha clan, and one who possessed the Sharingan.
With his insight and grasp of ninjutsu theory, his advice carried real weight.
This aspect of chakra development had always been part of Satoru's long-term plan. Moving it forward a little sooner wasn't an issue.
"Alright. I'll give it a try," Satoru said with a slight smile. "And besides… I just thought of something new."
