Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: An Awkward Scene

But, perhaps it was fate. Minato suddenly wanted to swim, so he swam towards the center of the lake where the girl was.

As Minato got closer and closer, the girl's heart grew more and more flustered. She kept praying in her heart, "Don't come closer, don't keep coming closer."

But things didn't go as she wished. Minato wanted to swim to the opposite shore, so it was impossible not to get closer.

Finally, when Minato was only one meter away, the girl's heart began to beat violently.

"Who's there?" The movement was so obvious, Minato couldn't possibly not hear it. He immediately launched a Konoha Great Whirlwind towards the source of the sound.

"Minato-kun, it's me!" Feeling Minato's powerful attack, the girl in the water immediately cried out. If she didn't speak up, being mistaken for an enemy and seriously injured would be even more embarrassing.

"Nani!" Hearing that familiar voice from the water, Minato's expression changed instantly. He retracted his attack without hesitation, but although the attack was retracted, his momentum carried him forward, and he lunged towards the girl.

"Ah!"

Following the girl's shriek, Minato and the girl collided. Feeling the soft, elastic sensation on his face, Minato knew exactly what it was. He immediately stood up awkwardly and turned his back.

"Sorry, Mikoto! I didn't know you were here. I didn't mean to hit... that." Minato apologized awkwardly. That collision could have ruined the girl's innocence.

He had also seen the girl's entire body, crystal clear, when he attacked.

"It's... it's okay. It's not your fault, Minato-kun. If I had spoken up earlier, what just happened might not have occurred," Uchiha Mikoto said from behind him, blushing.

She didn't blame Minato; instead, she was secretly annoyed at herself. It was all her fault. Why hadn't she just spoken up the moment she saw Minato? Why did she hide like a thief with a guilty conscience?

If she hadn't hidden, such an awkward scene wouldn't have happened.

"You should get out first. I'm not looking. I'll leave in a bit," Minato said, swimming off to the side.

Seeing this, Uchiha Mikoto quickly swam to the shore, dried herself off, and got dressed. She then called out to Minato in the middle of the lake, "Minato-kun, I'm dressed. It's okay now."

After hearing Uchiha Mikoto's words and seeing she had moved away, Minato immediately went ashore and put on his clothes. Today's incident was just too embarrassing.

How could something like this happen? Was it... fan service?

But this "fan service" was too heart-stopping.

After getting dressed, he hadn't walked far before he saw Uchiha Mikoto standing nearby. Needless to say, she was definitely waiting for him.

"Um... Mikoto, you didn't leave?" Minato, not knowing what to say, could only start an awkward conversation.

"I... I was waiting for you," Uchiha Mikoto finished, her face turning an uncontrollable shade of red.

"Today's incident was all a misunderstanding, really. I didn't know there was anyone in the lake, otherwise, I definitely wouldn't have gone in," Minato quickly explained, thinking Uchiha Mikoto was about to reprimand him.

"I don't blame you, Minato-kun. I know you didn't do it on purpose, so you don't need to blame yourself." Watching the flustered Minato, Uchiha Mikoto couldn't help but smile.

Hearing Mikoto didn't blame him, Minato breathed a sigh of relief. It was good he wasn't being treated as a pervert. He wasn't Jiraiya, whose skin was thick enough to deflect ninjutsu.

"Then, Mikoto, did you need me for something?" Minato asked.

"I want to ask... Minato-kun... did you see everything just now?" Mikoto mustered the courage to ask this question after a long time. Heaven knows how fast her heart was beating when she asked.

Minato: ...

He thought Mikoto was going to ask something else, but she ended up asking such an awkward question. How was Minato supposed to answer?

"I saw... everything I shouldn't have," Minato said after a moment. He decided to tell the truth. They were teammates; it was better to be clear to avoid future embarrassment.

Hearing Minato's words, Mikoto fell silent. Actually, she had already guessed that given the situation, Minato must have seen everything. She just held onto a sliver of hope that maybe, just maybe, he hadn't.

But with Minato's answer, Mikoto's face turned even redder. There was no anger, nor was she upset, just an indescribable feeling.

Mikoto was only about 4 or 5 years older than Minato. Facing the handsome and talented Minato, she naturally had no resistance. Her girlish heart of admiration had long since fallen for him.

"Then... Minato-kun, will you take responsibility?" Mikoto was a very traditional girl. Her body had been seen completely by Minato, and his face had just crashed into her chest. With all this, it seemed she could only be with Minato.

Although Minato had Kushina, Mikoto didn't care. Having multiple wives and concubines was perfectly normal among the great and noble clans. Which of the Daimyō didn't have several wives?

As long as Kushina was okay with it, it would be fine.

Besides, Mikoto had long since developed feelings for Minato. Coincidentally, an incident like today's happened, so she might as well be open about it.
