Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: The Exasperated Huangyan

"Boom."

With a loud bang, the ground beneath Minato's feet was shattered by the Great Ball Rasengan, but there was no sign of Huangyan.

"Crap, so he wasn't underground. Where on earth is that guy?" Minato didn't feel the slightest bit of regret for wasting the chakra of a Great Ball Rasengan.

He was just frustrated that he had guessed wrong; that Huangyan hadn't attacked from underground.

"Rumble."

While Minato was feeling frustrated, the city wall formed by the Earth Flow Wall turned back into mud, and Huangyan's figure finally appeared. He had been standing in the same spot, motionless.

"Kid, nice idea. But did you really think I would attack from underground? You wasted a large amount of chakra, and it must feel terrible to hit nothing."

Huangyan was very satisfied with his plan. He had long guessed Minato would attack the ground, so he stood still. As expected, that kid wasted a large amount of chakra on an empty move.

Huangyan's goal was to make Minato waste chakra, making him easier to deal with later. But how could he know how much chakra Minato had?

The chakra for one Great Ball Rasengan was, to Minato, just a drizzle, not even worth mentioning.

It was a silent chess match. The two were evenly matched; neither guessed right, neither achieved their desired result. Neither won.

"Earth Release: Earth Moving Core!"

Huangyan's face was filled with killing intent. He slammed his hands on the ground, a large amount of chakra surging. The kid opposite him was too dangerous. He had to be left here today, otherwise, he might become the next Hatake Sakumo.

The ground around Minato's feet suddenly began to sink, looking like an elevator descending from above.

Faced with the suddenly sinking ground, Minato's expression couldn't help but change. This Huangyan's strength was truly formidable; he had lowered the ground by several dozen meters in an instant.

He looked up at the surrounding walls. The only way out was up. But Minato believed that since Huangyan had used so much chakra, he definitely wouldn't let him escape from the exit above.

Sure enough, just as Minato had this thought, the surrounding walls began to shake, then gradually collapsed. Huge boulders began to rain down on Minato below.

"Earth Release: Rock Lodging Collapse!"

Standing in place, Huangyan watched the collapsing earth with cold indifference. With this combination, Huangyan believed that kid was definitely in a bad spot. Even if not dead, he would be seriously injured.

Unfortunately, he didn't know that there was a ninjutsu in the world called space-time ninjutsu. As the rocks collapsed, Minato realized with frustration that he had no defensive jutsu.

If he stood below and smashed the boulders, smaller stones would still keep falling. He would just be waiting to eat dust. Minato was not willing to stand there foolishly and eat dust.

What was even more embarrassing was that he had gotten too carried away in the fight and forgotten to leave a Flying Thunder God seal outside. Now, the only way out was to return to the camp.

Otherwise, he would have to stay below and eat dust, or be crushed by a pile of rocks. The choice was obvious. With a golden flash, Minato disappeared from the spot. When he reappeared, he was back at the Konoha camp.

"His name is Huangyan, right? That damned bastard. I, your young master, didn't even get to farm my Space Development points, and I was forced back to camp. Next time we meet will be your death day. Just you wait."

Minato deeply engraved Huangyan's act of obstructing his farming of Development Points into his little notebook.

As for running back to the battlefield now, Minato couldn't be bothered. He was already back, why go again? He might as well rest.

Hmm, I'll go see Mikoto first. Tease my little harem.

...

"Where is he? Where's that kid?"

On the battlefield, Huangyan stared blankly at the ground beneath the Rock Lodging Collapse. He found no one there. Impossible. That kid was definitely the real body; there was no way he could have escaped.

But reality gave Huangyan a hard slap in the face, because Minato was indeed not in the deep pit.

The huge amount of chakra he had wasted on the two Earth Release jutsu, Earth Moving Core and Rock Lodging Collapse, had absolutely no effect.

"Damn it! How on earth did that kid get away?"

Huangyan's face was ashen. He was unwilling to believe this fact.

In a foul mood, Huangyan was just about to take his anger out on other Konoha ninja, but he discovered that his leaders had begun to signal a retreat.

This was supposed to be a surprise attack by the Iwa-nin, but unfortunately, it was discovered in advance. Many people had died, so they had to retreat for now.

Huangyan had no choice but to retreat as well. But he was holding in a breath of frustration that he couldn't release. After using two major ninjutsu, the target had vanished. What the f*ck.

"Where's Minato?"

After the Iwa-nin retreated, Tsunade noticed Minato's figure was missing and asked in a panic.
