"Does what you know have anything to do with you?" Minato had no intention of answering his question.
Following the Anbu's admission, Mikoto and Nagakaze were even more confused.
They didn't understand. Why did fellow Konoha ninja have to kill each other?

One of the two Elite Jōnin happened to be a Water Release user. He spat out a large amount of water, forming a barrier to block Minato's Majestic Destroyer Flame.

Seeing the sea of fire about to break through the water barrier, the Elite Jōnin had no choice but to use another Water Formation Wall.

Another golden flash, Minato appeared in front of the Jōnin, grabbed the kunai, and clashed it with the Jōnin's short sword. Then, his other free hand instantly formed a Rasengan and slammed it into the Jōnin's chest.
But Minato didn't form a Great Ball Rasengan; there wasn't time.
A Jōnin's reactions are extremely fast. A moment's delay and the opponent might escape.
That last strike... because Mikoto was tangling with the opponent, he had time to form a Great Ball Rasengan.
"Bang!"
The Rasengan sent the Jōnin flying. It's just that this Jōnin was an Earth Release user, and at the critical moment, he used Earth Release's hardening to block part of the Rasengan's power.
So although he was hit by the Rasengan, he was only injured, not dead.
