Chapter 36 - Chapter 36

That day passed quickly. Milim woke up especially early the next day.

She also wanted to make some sculptures for the competition—even though she was the one who started it, how could Milim miss out on such a fun event?

As soon as she opened her door, she found the outside was already covered in a thick layer of snow.

Milim stepped into the snow, and half her leg sank in.

"So it snowed that much last night," she thought, and then ran towards the sea.

The road was not as quiet as she had imagined. On the contrary, many people were heading towards the sea.

Although a small number of people planned to use snow to build their sculptures, most decided to get some ice to carve.

Apparently, Milim had the same idea. In no time, she arrived at the seashore.

At this moment, this sea area was covered in ice and snow. However, with her Dragon Eye vision, Milim could see that far in the distance, it was still a calm sea surface.

This was the strange weather and climate in the world of One Piece. One place could be snowing while another was scorching hot, and the two climates could even be right next to each other!

Milim stepped onto the ice, dug out a large block of ice nearly 20 meters high with her bare hands, and brought it back to an open space on the shore.

She devoted herself to carving, her eyes focused on the block of ice in front of her, completely unaware that Linlin and the others had approached.

Linlin and the others looked at Milim's unexpected seriousness, exchanged glances, and saw a strange sense of rivalry in each other's eyes.

Linlin was the first to act. She directly chiseled out a huge block of ice from the ice surface and began to carve it with the weapon in her hand. Vegapunk, on the other hand, controlled a robot, picked the smoothest and most transparent piece of ice, and started carving precisely according to a pattern on his computer using a laser.

For a moment, the open space was filled with the sounds of chiseling ice and the subtle hum of laser cutting.

Ryuka was also helping Linlin on the side, while Bullet went to Milim's side. Not daring to disturb her carving, he just watched quietly.

As for El, he was curled up on a patch of ground that had been cleared of snow, shivering slightly, but he still sat there watching them finish their carvings.

As the morning passed, everyone's work was almost complete. Milim took a huge cloth and covered her creation.

When she went to where the others were carving, she found that they had also finished and covered their works with cloth.

Finally, when all the works were completed, Milim and the others began to observe them. Of course, the works of Linlin, Milim, and the others were not included in the competition.

Everyone first came to the tallest sculpture, made by the giant uncle.

The giant uncle rubbed his nose and, with a proud face, unveiled the cloth. Underneath was a hammer carved from crystal-clear ice—the patterns on the hammerhead were magnificent, and every fine line, every joint, was carved with incredible detail, as if it could be swung at a target in the next second.

Milim's eyes lit up, and she unhesitatingly held up a sign with "90 points." Charlotte Linlin also held up a 90-point sign. Vegapunk, on the other hand, examined the details of the hammer with a somewhat critical eye and finally held up an 80-point sign.

Then, everyone moved on to the other sculptures. There was a statue of a beautiful woman made of snow, her features as delicate as a real person's, even the curve of her hair was lifelike. Someone else had carved a carriage out of ice; the patterns on the wheels and the carvings on the carriage were equally detailed, as if it could be set in motion with a gentle push.

Someone had even carved Milim and Charlotte Linlin, and the level of completion was very high. The smile on the ice-carved Milim's face was exactly the same as the real Milim's.

After viewing all the ice sculptures, the final winner was chosen by everyone. In the end, they all decided that the winner was the Snow Beauty!

It was the beauty made of snow. The two young girls who had built it were overjoyed to see their snow creation win.

They hugged each other happily, and then El handed the 10 million Berries to the two girls.

Now that they had seen all the ice sculptures here, it was time to see the ones made by Milim and the others.

The first to be unveiled was Charlotte Linlin's ice sculpture. As the cloth was lifted, a throne made of ice appeared before everyone.

Although the throne was amazing, a closer look revealed fine scratches on the ice sculpture, clearly due to a lack of carving skill.

The second one they looked at was the ice sculpture made by Vegapunk. Vegapunk confidently unveiled the cloth, and a pensive man sitting on a rock, holding a book, appeared before everyone.

"Pfft!" Milim almost burst out laughing. Why did this statue look so familiar? She felt like she had seen it somewhere in her past life.

Vegapunk's sculpture was perfect, but there was a strange sense of incongruity, as if something was missing.

After some discussion, they finally figured out what was missing. The statue lacked a distinct focal point. It was very exquisite at first glance, but there was nothing particularly memorable about it.

Finally, it was Milim's turn to unveil her ice sculpture. Milim was very confident. She came to the cloth and pulled it off with a sharp tug.

Then, the true form of the ice sculpture was revealed to everyone. Vegapunk's eyes widened in disbelief, and he stared at the ice sculpture with a fascinated expression!

The men also felt their hearts beat faster for some reason. In comparison, the women's reactions were much smaller.

"I call it Gundam!" Milim waved her hands, introducing it cheerfully.

It was 20 meters tall. Although it was made of ice, its whole body was full of a mechanical feel.

With a cannon on its shoulder, a gun in its hand, and a shield on its arm, it was filled with a sense of mechanical power.

Vegapunk was completely lost in this beautiful creation full of mechanical sense, his desire for the Gundam unconcealed in his eyes.

Perhaps it wouldn't be long before Vegapunk would also build a Gundam.

With the sculpture competition over, everyone began to enjoy the second day of their holiday.

Vegapunk kept taking pictures of the Gundam with his camera.

Milim had made an ice slide and was happily sliding up and down on it.

Linlin, on the other hand, had been carving ice all morning and felt a little hungry, so she took Ryuka back to eat.

After playing on the slide for a while, Milim noticed that Vegapunk was still staring at the Gundam, drooling.

Milim quietly approached Vegapunk from behind and said softly, "Vegapunk, do you want to build a Gundam?"

Vegapunk nodded vigorously. This thing was the romance of a man. He had fallen in love with the Gundam at first sight.

"Then go and do it." Milim patted Vegapunk on the shoulder, her tone full of encouragement. "If you have a dream, you should chase it. Then you can pilot the Gundam to protect Totto Land and maintain peace!"

The more Vegapunk listened, the more excited he became. He could no longer contain his racing heart. Now, Vegapunk couldn't wait to return to his laboratory immediately.

He would start the experiment to research Gundam. With this thought, Vegapunk ran back to his laboratory at an incredible speed.

"Sigh!" If Vegapunk really did build a Gundam, then perhaps the mode of warfare in the world would change in the future.

But as long as I'm happy, that's all that matters. With this thought, Milim continued to play on the ice.
