Cherreads

Chapter 45 - Chapter 45

As the dishes were served to all the tables, they were followed by a giant cake. Its size alone could be compared to a giant dozens of meters tall.

"It looks so delicious!" Milim and Charlotte Linlin's eyes gleamed. A chef elegantly cut the two largest slices from the cake.

They were delivered to Milim and Linlin, while the rest of the cake was distributed to everyone else. At that moment, Milim's eyes were fixed only on the cake, her mouth nearly drooling.

She quickly grabbed a piece of cake and stuffed it into her mouth, her eyes filled with satisfaction. Beside her, Gloriosa watched Milim eat so happily, a doting smile on her face.

"Mamamama, this is so delicious! I want to eat it forever!" Charlotte Linlin, just like Milim, stuffed piece after piece of cake into her mouth, her slender figure seeming like a bottomless pit.

Down below, Shakky took the initiative to pick up her wine glass and approached Rayleigh's side. This move drew the attention of many people present.

Roger and Garp stared at Rayleigh with wide eyes, filled with envy.

Rayleigh's body stiffened slightly as he took the wine glass and clinked it with Shakky's.

Seeing Rayleigh's reaction, a smile played on Shakky's lips as she gave him a flirtatious wink. "Have a good time!"

Rayleigh shuddered, immediately downing the wine in his glass. He then turned his head away, not quite daring to look directly at Shakky. "You too!"

With that, Shakky left Rayleigh's side and returned to her own seat, beginning to savor the food with great focus.

"Damn it! Why would Shakky be into you?" Roger instantly appeared and wrapped his arm around Rayleigh's neck in a headlock, his tone and expression a perfect mix of envy, jealousy, and hatred!

Rayleigh didn't answer. He just stared blankly at the wine glass in his hand and the faint red lipstick mark on its rim, his mind a complete mess.

Wherever Roger was, Garp was sure to follow. Garp sidled up to Roger and loudly declared, "How could Shakky possibly like an illiterate fool like you? It's obvious she likes cultured men like Rayleigh."

"What are you so proud of? You're illiterate too," Roger shouted back, displeased.

Garp responded with a grin, "I've been to the Marine Academy. I'm completely different from an illiterate like you."

Roger was stumped by Garp's retort, not knowing what to say. It was true he had never been to school and wasn't cultured.

His eyes darted around, and then an idea struck him. Roger leaned in and whispered in Garp's ear, "Well then, Mr. Cultured, what profound words do you have for a scene like this?"

As he spoke, Roger pointed to the massive banquet, expecting Garp to say something philosophical.

The corner of Garp's mouth twisted into a smirk. "Then listen closely, and I'll show you what a cultured man is."

"Let the show begin." The conversation between the two wasn't quiet, and it had attracted an audience. Milim, while eating her cake, watched the farce below with a cheerful grin, finding it very interesting.

Vegapunk, hearing their conversation, had a proud look in his eyes. He wasn't bragging, but everyone here combined wasn't as cultured as he, Vegapunk, was.

The other onlookers also waited in anticipation. What famous quote would this rising star of the Marines, Garp, come up with?

Seeing so many people watching his performance, Garp's face suddenly broke into a goofy smile. "Wow! So many people."

Thud!

Roger's hand slipped, and he nearly fell to the ground. The rest of the audience had dark lines on their faces, and Vegapunk shot him a look of utter contempt.

"I shouldn't have believed that a brute like you had any culture." Roger scrambled up from the floor, his eyes filled with disdain. Though he never really believed Garp was cultured, he didn't expect him to say something so plain and simple.

"Hey, hey!" Being stared at with such contempt by so many people made even Garp blush, but he still tried to argue stubbornly, "Can't you see how fitting my words are for the occasion?"

"Hehe! You shameless guy, take this!" Suddenly, Roger grabbed a plate of cake and smashed it into Garp's face.

Caught off guard, Garp took the cake right to the face, his entire head covered in cream.

"Roger, you despicable pirate! How dare you use such tactics against a Marine of justice!" Garp was no pushover. Once the signal for war had been given, he grabbed a cake and slammed it back onto Roger's face.

The two had a blast, and their antics started to affect others. Before long, more and more people inexplicably joined the war.

Milim sat on the stage, watching the chaos below with a joyful smile. Of course, a birthday party wouldn't be complete without this event, would it?

So, Milim decisively jumped off the stage, grabbed a cake, and charged toward a wide-eyed, disbelieving Vegapunk.

"Milim, don't come over here!" Vegapunk was so scared he lost control of his facial expressions and turned to flee.

"Where do you think you're going, Vegapunk? Don't run, face me!" Milim, holding the cake, charged toward Vegapunk like a jeep.

"Honestly!" Charlotte Linlin stuffed another piece of cake into her mouth, grumbling with dissatisfaction, "Such a waste of food. This is a delicious birthday cake."

The chaos continued until the sun was about to disappear below the horizon, at which point everyone finally stopped.

Milim's face had little cat whiskers drawn on it with cream. Even Charlotte Linlin, who hadn't participated in the war, had a plate of cake on her head, thrown there by who-knows-who.

As for Roger and Garp, they had been completely transformed into cream-men. All anyone could see were two cream figures still wrestling and rolling around on the ground together.

Gaban was holding two axes made of cake, laughing heartily as he gnawed on them.

But the most conspicuous person was Rayleigh. Someone, it was unclear who, had left him completely clean except for one spot. The part that symbolized his manly pride had a plate of cream placed right on top of it.

Many of the women walked past Rayleigh, their eyes subconsciously glancing down at his crotch before they shyly covered their mouths, whispering to each other as they walked away.

What made it even more embarrassing for Rayleigh was that not far away, Shakky was holding a piece of cake, looking at his crotch with a strange smile on her face as she ate.

It made Rayleigh want to dig a hole and hide. If it weren't for those two bastards, Roger and Garp, who refused to let go of his legs even while wrestling, he would have run away long ago.

The grand banquet was over. Next up was a small get-together for close friends.

After everyone went home to wash up, they soon gathered together again.
