Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 15 – The Plan For The Showdown

The air was thick with dread after the massacre at Rikako High. Paulo stood amidst the ruins; his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white.

Blood stained the marble floors, and the scent of ash and sorrow lingered like a curse.

The Vampire Association had struck without mercy, leaving devastation in their wake, and Lily, Paulo's first love, was among the fallen victims that follows them.

His voice was low, trembling with fury as he turned to Saya. "Go," he said, barely above a whisper. "Go back to Keiko High.

Find Tsuki and Ava. Tell them… we are going to the cosmic base. Now." Saya did not hesitate. She sprinted through the portal, her heart pounding, her mind racing with grief and confusion.

The moment she arrived at Keiko High, she spotted Tsuki and Ava near the courtyard, laughing softly, unaware of the horror that had just unfolded.

"Saya?" Ava called out, noticing her friend's pale face and frantic pace. "What's wrong?"

Saya skidded to a halt, her breath ragged. Her eyes shimmered with unshed tears. "Rikako High… it was attacked. The Vampire Association… they slaughtered everyone. Lily's dead. Paulo… he is beyond furious."

The words hit Ava and Tsuki like a thunderclap. Ava's hand flew to her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief. "No… Lily? Are you sure?"

Saya nodded slowly, her voice cracking. "I saw her body. Paulo held her in his arms. He did not even cry. He just… stared."

Tsuki's expression darkened, her fists trembling. "Lily was his first girlfriend. There is no way he will let this go. He will go after them. He will burn the world down if he has to."

Saya looked away, unable to answer. She did not know what Paulo would do, but she feared it.

Together, the three girls returned through the portal to Rikako High. The scene was haunting. Paulo stood in the centre of the field, his eyes hollow, his body trembling with rage.

Shingo had just arrived, pale and weak from illness, but the moment he saw Paulo, he knew something terrible had happened.

Max appeared moments later, dragging the principal behind him. "You need to see this," Max had told him grimly. "It's Paulo."

The principal gasped at the sight. Paulo's face was twisted in anguish, his eyes bloodshot, his jaw clenched so tightly it looked like it might snap.

Then, Paulo screamed. "WHY?! WHY WAS I THIS WEAK?!" His voice echoed across the field, shaking the very air.

Birds scattered from the trees. Students nearby froze in place. It was a scream of pure torment—a soul breaking apart.

Without another word, Paulo activated the portal to the cosmic base, a shimmering vortex of stars and energy. He stepped through alone, vanishing into the other universe.

Inside the sterile halls of the cosmic base, Paulo moved with purpose.

He passed rows of containment tubes, each holding remnants of experiments, memories, and corpses.

He stopped at one, Alexis. his body floated lifelessly in a test tube, preserved in stasis.

He placed his hand on the glass. "I failed you too," he whispered. "But not again, I won't fail again."

He retrieved her body, cradling it like a relic, and returned to Rikako High.

There, in the school's field, he dug a grave beside Lily's. The sky had turned grey, as if mourning with him.

Students gathered silently, watching as Paulo laid Alexis down beside Lily. He did not speak for a long time. Then, he stood, his voice low but venomous.

"I swear on their graves," he said, eyes blazing. "As soon as I find the Vampire Association… I will destroy them. I will rip their minds apart. I will turn them into hollow puppets, soulless, broken, and begging for mercy they will never receive."

No one dared speak. The wind howled through the trees, carrying Paulo's vow into the heavens.

Paulo, Riku, Saya Yamamoto, Ava Amani, Tsuki Ishikawa and Maki then decided to return to the cosmic base to plan their attack.

***

The atmosphere inside the cosmic base was heavy with tension. The war room, usually a place of strategy and calm calculation, now pulsed with raw emotion.

Paulo's fingers tapped against the table, each strike echoing like a countdown. "Izumi and the Vampire Association…" he muttered, voice low and venomous. "They've crossed a line that can't be uncrossed."

Yuki leaned forward, her tengu wings twitching slightly. "We need a plan. A real one. Not just vengeance."

Paulo's gaze snapped to her. "This is vengeance. And justice. And war."

Before anyone could respond, the portal shimmered behind them. Saya Yamamoto, Ava Amani, and Tsuki Ishikawa stepped back through, their faces pale. They had made their decision.

"We're staying on Earth," Ava said softly. "With Max and Shingo. It feels… safer."

Paulo scoffed, his voice sharp and bitter. "Safer? You call the place where Lily was murdered safe?"

Saya flinched, but Tsuki stepped forward, her voice firm. "We know what happened. But we are not soldiers, Paulo. We would only slow you down."

Paulo looked away, jaw clenched. Lily's name still burned in his chest like a blade.

She had been his first love, before Ava, before the war, before the bloodshed. Her death had shattered something inside him.

The door slid open with a hiss. Maki Satō strode in, her cosmic Armor gleaming, her expression grim. "I've located the Vampire Association's three bases," she announced. "We need to send one soldier to each. One per base. No exceptions."

Yuki smirked, her eyes flicking to Paulo. "It is obvious who takes the main base. Izumi's there. Paulo should be the one to face him."

Riku nodded. "Agreed. No one else can match Izumi's power."

Maki hesitated. "I was going to take the left base myself…"

Paulo shook his head. "No. Tetsuya will manage it. He is new, but his power is unmatched. He needs to be evaluated."

Just then, Hiro Yamamoto entered, his oni horns glinting under the lights. "Paulo," he said, voice deep and commanding, "shouldn't the rest of us be training? Only five of us have broken the one-million power level. That is not enough."

Paulo stood, his aura flaring with cosmic energy. "You are right. Kuro, Maki, you will lead the training. Push them past their limits. No mercy."

Kuro Momiji, silent until now, nodded. "Understood."

Maki gave Paulo a small smile. "Count on it. Just do not get yourself killed. We still have the Ghost Face Group to deal with."

Paulo's eyes softened for a moment. "Thank you for remembering. That mission still matters."

He turned to Riku and summoned a portal with a wave of his hand. Three swirling vortexes opened, each leading to one of the Vampire Association's strongholds.

"Tetsuya," Paulo said, voice steady, "you take the left portal. Riku, the right. I will take the centre. Izumi is mine."

As the soldiers prepared to depart, a nervous voice broke the silence. Momoi, one of the revived cosmic soldiers, stepped forward, trembling. "Paulo… can cosmic soldiers die? Tetsuya and I… we have been worried ever since you brought us back."

Paulo walked over, placing a firm hand on Momoi's shoulder. His gaze was unwavering. "Listen to me. If I do not die… none of you will. That is a promise."

Momoi nodded slowly, reassured but still afraid.

In the training grounds, Maki turned to the gathered recruits.

Her eyes sparked with lightning as she raised her hands. "Alright, you cosmic slackers! Riku wants you in shape, and I am not going easy. Let us see who's worthy of this army!"

She unleashed a bolt of lightning into the sky, the crackling energy igniting the air. Kuro stood beside her, arms crossed, watching silently.

Back in the war room, Paulo looked at his team one last time. "We go now. We end this. No hesitation. No retreat." Riku grinned. "Let's make them regret ever crossing us."

Tetsuya stepped forward, his eyes glowing with power. "I've been waiting for this."

The three warriors stepped into their portals, vanishing into the unknown.

***

in Base 1, Paulo Satoshi emerged from the portal like a god of war. His three-section staff spun in his hands, crackling with cosmic energy.

The ground beneath him trembled as he stepped forward, eyes locked on the towering fortress ahead.

Inside, Izumi waited. The Vampire King sat upon a throne carved from bone and obsidian, surrounded by over 300 vampire elites.

Their eyes glowed red, their fangs bared, their claws twitching with anticipation.

Paulo's voice rang out, cold and thunderous. "IZUMI!"

The throne room fell silent. Izumi rose slowly, his cloak billowing like smoke. "So… the Monarch comes. I was wondering when you would crawl back from your grief."

Paulo's grip tightened. "You murdered Lily. You slaughtered innocents. You have declared war on the cosmos itself."

Izumi smirked. "She was weak. Just like you."

Paulo's aura exploded, shaking the walls. "You'll regret every word." The vampires surged forward, but Paulo did not flinch.

He spun his staff, unleashing a wave of cosmic force that sent the first wave flying. The battle had begun.

In Base 2 which was located in a cyber facility, Riku Masusa stepped into the vampire stronghold with fire in his veins. The air was thick with tension.

Before him stood Shiki Goldheart, Izumi's second-in-command, a tall, elegant vampire with golden eyes and a blade forged from cursed silver.

Behind Shiki, 200 vampire warriors stood ready. "Well, well," Shiki said, smiling. "Paulo sends his dog to fight me?"

Riku cracked his neck. "I volunteered. I like breaking arrogant faces." Shiki's smile widened. "Then come. Let us see if you are worthy of bleeding."

The vampires charged, and Riku met them head-on. His fists glowed with raw energy, each strike sending shockwaves through the battlefield.

Shiki danced through the chaos, her blade slicing through the air, aiming for Riku's throat. "You're fast," Riku growled, dodging. "But I'm faster."

Their clash lit up the sky.

In Base 3 which was located In an endless school hallway, Tetsuya arrived at the final base, his eyes scanning the eerie silence. The fortress was smaller, but no less dangerous. Standing at its centre was Amelia Silverheart, Izumi's third-in-command. Her silver hair shimmered like moonlight, and her eyes were cold as ice.

She stood with 100 vampire warriors, each one poised to kill. "You're the new one," Amelia said, her voice like a whisper of death. "Paulo must be desperate." Tetsuya smirked. "No. He is smart. You are the weakest link." Amelia's eyes narrowed. "I'll enjoy ripping your heart out."

The vampires lunged, and Tetsuya unleashed his power.

A storm of energy erupted around him, tearing through the first wave. He moved like lightning, his strikes precise, his aura blazing.

Amelia joined the fray, her daggers spinning like stars. "You'll die here, child." Tetsuya blocked her attack, eyes burning. "Not today."

Across three fronts, the Cosmic Army clashed with the Vampire Association. Blood spilled. Power surged. The fate of the cosmos hung in the balance.

And at the heart of it all… Paulo Satoshi fought not just for victory, but for vengeance.
