While rereading Shadow Slave to work on the Forgotten Shore arc, I realized I want to rethink the direction of this fic. Revisiting canon gave me a lot of new ideas, and I don't want to rush forward without giving them proper thought.
Because of that, I've decided to pause this version and work on a rewrite offline. This story isn't abandoned or anything; I just want time to figure out the version of it I actually want to tell.
I don't have a timeline for when I'll be back, but when I return, it may be with a revised version of the fic.
