"Might I be so fortunate as to 'exchange pointers' with the two of you? We'll stop at the point—this is only to verify what I've learned."
The line struck Lin Mo like thunder.
His heart skipped.
Crap—too much posturing. He took it seriously!
"Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong! Dong!"
His heart bolted on instinct—the Emperor Engine roared through the quiet dojo.
"Oh?" Bang's ear twitched. He heard the rumble from KING and his face turned grave.
He took it as a sign KING was entering a combat state.
Before Lin Mo could conjure any polite refusal, a breezy voice cut in.
"Sure."
Saitama had stood. He rolled his wrists and neck, joints crackling like popping corn, and said,
"Just don't blame me if I can't pull my punches and I break your dojo."
Bang shifted his eyes from Lin Mo to the already-standing Saitama, smiling with appreciation.
"No matter. Please, Saitama-kun—by all means."
He set his Water Stream Rock Smashing stance—and his presence changed. He became a boulder—steady, power coiled beneath.
"Saitama-kun—the old man is coming."
He moved before the words were out.
His figure seemed to vanish—and the next instant, he was before Saitama.
His hands blurred into a storm, like an endless river—attacks from all angles, covering every vital on Saitama's body.
"Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist—Linked Fangs!"
The move prized softness overcoming hardness, speed over slowness—hundreds of refined strikes in an eye-blink, unloading force to shatter bone. Ordinary monsters would not survive one.
"Master… is serious!" Charanko gasped from the corner. He'd never seen his teacher attack so fast.
But in the heart of the storm, Saitama only cocked his head.
He didn't even move his feet.
He raised his hands casually—and yet, with uncanny prescience, met every one of Bang's blows.
Each gale of strikes was neutralized the instant it touched Saitama's palms—its power gone like smoke.
"Pap, pap, pap, pap…"
A flurry of crisp sounds. Bang slid back two steps, shock plain on his face.
He felt it clearly—every attack had been answered by the simplest motion.
The other didn't use any "technique"—he merely placed his hands where Bang's were, and the force dissipated on its own.
Bang barked—and surged back in.
This time he moved more elusively, like a fish in water or a leaf on the wind, spiraling a fiercer assault around Saitama.
"Water Stream Rock Smashing—Water Formation Dragon Fang!"
His shifting drew afterimages—like a water dragon coiling Saitama in a living ring.
Faced with the dazzling array, Saitama's expression didn't change. His body tilted—a tiny sway.
And every strike fell into empty air.
"How… My fists can't touch him at all!" Shock crashed through Bang.
Saitama's speed absolutely eclipsed his own.
Bang cut his momentum, inhaled deep, gathered all his strength into his right fist—the peak of his aura.
"Water Stream Rock Smashing Secret Art—Water Stream Rock Smashing!"
It was his strongest lunge—every bit of power focused to a point—enough to punch through steel and shatter stone.
He drove it forward; the compressed air cracked in a sharp report.
Saitama simply lifted his right hand, fingers spread—and caught the blow.
A thunderous gust roared past Saitama's back—but the man himself did not budge.
The terrible force in Bang's fist vanished the instant it met Saitama's palm.
Only the displaced gale blasted past Saitama and swept away behind him.
Saitama stood where he'd begun, unmoved.
Bang froze in his punching posture, his right fist trapped in a hand that looked wholly ordinary—unable to advance a hair.
Beads of sweat gathered and slid down his face.
His all-out strike hadn't even made the other's body sway.
"Amazing, old man."
Saitama let go, sincere admiration in his voice. "Your boxing looks like a really powerful dance."
Bang managed a rueful smile, drew his fist back, and bowed deeply to Saitama.
"Thank you for your instruction, Saitama-kun. The old man… admits defeat, heart and soul." There was no frustration in him.
In that moment, his desire to recruit Saitama into the dojo to learn Water Stream Rock Smashing burned even brighter.
A perfect jade left uncarved would be a crime.
Catching his breath after the exchange, Bang turned those eyes to Lin Mo—who had watched from start to finish.
He straightened his gi and set his stance.
"KING-san."
The voice wasn't loud, but it carried to every ear.
"Please… spar with me as well!"
