"You've got to be kidding me…"
S-Class Rank 14 "Tanktop Master" broke the silence, veins bulging on his arms.
"Lady Shibabawa… dead? And the prophecy is that the Earth is… is doomed?" His voice was full of disbelief.
"Hey hey, is that for real?" S-Class Rank 15 "Metal Bat" raked his pompadour in irritation.
"That old lady's predictions are off sometimes, right?"
He didn't sound convinced himself.
"Accuracy is one hundred percent."
The proxy robot for S-Class Rank 7 "Metal Knight" spoke without emotion.
"Margin of error approaches zero in theory. This prophecy's level is unquestionably above 'Dragon'—possibly a never-before-seen category: 'God.'"
The word "God" chilled the room further.
Dragon-level disasters were enough to threaten the destruction of multiple cities, requiring the combined efforts of the less-powerful S-Class to barely cope.
"God," in the Association's definitions, was "a crisis that could lead to the extinction of humanity."
Saitama's expression was as simple as ever. He picked up the apple and began to eat, his face showing rare contemplation as he digested the news.
"Hmph. Just a prophecy."
S-Class Rank 2 "Tornado of Terror" hovered over her seat, arms folded, green eyes gleaming with scorn.
"Whatever comes, I'll handle it. Don't make a fuss."
Her words brimmed with absolute confidence, but no one relaxed.
They knew too well how weighty Shibabawa's prophecies were.
Sitch's face was equally ugly. He dabbed the sweat from his brow and couldn't help glancing at the man who had been steady as a stone—the silent KING.
After thinking a moment, he decided to say it.
"This prophecy…" His voice was dry. "To tell the truth, it's not the first time the Association's leadership has heard of it."
"Huh? What do you mean?" S-Class Rank 10 "Pig God" asked through mouthfuls of snacks.
Sitch looked at KING again; seeing that he remained expressionless, neither confirming nor stopping him, he went on:
"Roughly two months ago, Mr. KING issued us a clear warning."
He followed with a case all would remember: "And last time, that giant meteor over City Z—Mr. KING likewise… foretold its arrival."
"What?!"
Shock rippled through the room.
Atomic Samurai snapped his head up, eyes on KING now full of astonishment.
Flashy Flash opened his eyes; it was no longer none of his business.
Even the ever-arrogant Tornado of Terror showed surprise.
"Mr. KING stated clearly—before long, a powerful force from deep space would descend upon Earth. Its leader's power would far exceed any enemy we have faced. Its purpose was to seek an equal match. The battle would be unavoidable and would bring catastrophic destruction to Earth."
Sitch paused, letting the heroes digest the bombshell, then continued:
"Mr. KING even predicted the landing site of their ship—City A—with precision."
An uproar!
"A month in advance… he knew?"
"He said aliens—and the landing site?"
"How is that possible? Does KING also have precognition?"
Whispers surged like a tide; eyes turned toward KING in wonder.
Genos' golden cybernetic eyes shone with shock. He suddenly recalled the time after he and his teacher Saitama finished registration at the Association.
Mr. KING had indeed said he needed a private word with Mr. Sitch—was it… then?!
"After the meteor prophecy came true, the Association's upper echelons elevated Mr. KING's prediction to the highest alert level!"
Sitch raised his voice: "We immediately launched unprecedented reinforcements for City A's defenses! We poured massive resources into that city!"
He drew a breath, then said something that shook the room to the core:
"Mr. KING… he not only foresaw the coming disaster—he even foresaw Lady Shibabawa's death!"
It was like a bomb exploded in the room.
"Impossible!"
"That's absolutely a lie!"
Sitch ignored the shouts and disbelief. Face full of regret, he continued:
"Before he left, Mr. KING added—please tell Lady Shibabawa that the weather is dry lately. If her throat feels unwell, she must not eat throat lozenges, or her life will be in danger."
"We passed the message on and confiscated every cough drop we could find around her. We thought it would be foolproof. Who could have known… who could have known… she still had a stash…"
The room was in chaos.
If foreseeing alien invasion could be explained away—barely—by intelligence and analysis…
Then to predict with precision that a great seer would die for something as absurd as "eating a cough drop"…

For the first time, Tornado's face showed fear as she looked at KING. The man remained silent.
But that roaring King Engine, to her ears, was deafening now.
"Lady Shibabawa's prophecy has made us absolutely believe Mr. KING's warning is about to come true."
Sitch's voice was drained. He looked at them all and went on.
"According to her message and our reading of Mr. KING's warning, this disaster is likely to arrive on any day within the next six months. Everyone…"
His eyes swept across each S-Class hero, voice heavy as iron.
"We have no time."
