Thia and Dek agreed, and we headed inside to retrieve Dek's things and what the Synths got from Kwei's ship. The items were stored on the ship, and were stupidly easy to find. I fixed up Dek's tech and used the materials in the base to make new armor for Dek. The tech was mostly untouched, and we had to remove trackers; otherwise, it should be fine. I helped Dek reattach the plasma blaster to his shoulder armor. Then we headed for Kwei's ship.
We made it to the ship after a few hours of walking across the terrain. Thia was asking about Kwei and what kind of brother he was. I stepped out of my suit and let Bud and Douma play together. Meanwhile, I took out the memory storage of my suit and set it aside as I deconstructed it.
"Ru?" Thia asked.
"Hm?" I glanced at her.
"Why are you taking apart your suit?"
"Back on Genna, I needed the suit to be thick, and now that I'm leaving and I have Douma and he will be growing, I will have to make him a set of body armor since I won't be able to carry him in my suit," I explained.
"De'cha-de syat'ka. Ti'k-de ta Yautja-de Pr'aim." Dek said as the ship's doors closed and prepared to take off. I continued to deconstruct my suit and took out a thick disk with Yautja writing on it.
"Tarei-k'di'da kwei'dt-de?" Dek asked.
"What, this?" holds up the disk. "My mom left it to me."
"Thwei Yautja-de h'tekk, ka'nikt-ka tchi-dek'se. H'te shaa-de tka'mei?" Dek told me.
"Yautja tech?" I was surprised. "My mom never met Yautja, at least not that I can remember clearly."
"Can you show what's on it?" Thia asked.
"No, I don't have anything that would work," I explained.
"Ka'nra." Dek held out his hand once the ship was on autopilot. I handed it to him. "Ya'nra, "tki-dei'q ja'nai-de h'ka-de.""
"Yeah, the problem is I don't have anything that will work with it." I leaned against the wall. "Have anything that will work with it?"
"Ji had'tai-de h'chak'ka," Dek said as he went to the wall close by and inserted the device. A holographic image came up on display. My mother was there, and a big shadow was behind her.
"Hey, Ru," My mom said in the recording.
"Dhi'cha ka'nat'cha vra." Dek said as he and i watched the recording.
"Thanks, Dek," I thanked him.
"I hope you learned more from me before I left your side." My mom continued in the recording. "About your dad, who he is, and what you are, Ru."
My brows furrowed, watching the recording.
"What did she mean by that?" Thia asked.
"I don't know," I answered her.
"Ru, if you saw me die, you have to know something," my mother continued. "You aren't fully human,"
I felt so many questions swarm my head.
"How is that possible? cross-breeding between humans and other species is impossible, biologically and genetically." Thia pointed out.
"I know it doesn't make any sense. And there is a secret that you will need to learn," the recording of my mother continued. "I have a friend on Yautja Prime, her name is Aida. She had tech to move a consciousness from anywhere in the galaxy to a device to hold the consciousness until the new body is ready."
"... huh?" I could barely understand this, and I have been studying an immortal creature.
"I know this is a lot to handle," the recording of my mother continued. "But Aida can explain it better. Go find her. She can tell you everything, and who your father is. There isn't much time. Ru, never forget how much I love you. I'll see you out there, my amazing daughter."
The recording ended, and I was more confused than ever.
"What?" I looked to the other two.
"So... you aren't human, and... your mother knew a Yautja?" Thia asked.
"I guess so? Maybe the shadow was my dad."
"De'ktra na'kchi vak'ta." Dek said.
"Neither did I, Dek," I said to him and sat beside my suit and started working on my deconstructed suit. "I am going to get back to what makes sense."
Dek grunted in agreement and went back to the helm of the ship to keep an eye out for anything. Thia sat with Bud, and Douma stayed with me. I got to work on the suit so that it will be more form-fitted and can work with my agility. Found two cloak devices in both arms. Weird, must have been two different Yautja the tech came from. The extra pieces and other cloaking devices, I put together a suit for Douma. protects vital areas but has space for him to do his business. Nothing fancy, but it will work great with Douma's more aggressive attacks. Glancing at Bud, she has grown a little since we left Genna a few hours ago, now almost a day ago. She is an eighth bigger than when we left Genna. It must take a little less time to grow up and mature for Kalisk, but probably more than a day.
We traveled for a while. I tested my suit and Doumas. managed to make Douma's armor voice command to cloak it. Bud kept growing to a large size. Half the size of her mother. She is growing strong even after only a few days. Bud has been very attached to Dek, especially since she's started growing on the ship. Honestly, he seems like a pet dad. That is a sentence I never thought I would think of for a Yautja. I watched them interact when I rewatched the recording from Mom earlier, and was trying to figure out what she was even saying. Bud and Dek were almost inseparable on the trip. Douma was always lying on Thia or me, so there's a comparison. Bud slept on me when I was trying to sleep on the trip, too.
Soon enough, we arrived on Yautja Prime. When we landed, I was about to walk out in my new suit, but Dek stopped me.
"Dek?" I looked to him.
"Dthun-de ya'n-ga. Ai-de kwei'ta-jal vri'dak." Dek said, taking Tessa's skull as he stepped out. I stayed on the ship. Thia stood beside me and watched. The building ahead of us had layers of posts, and many Yautja came out on the posts as one in particular came out, antlers on his helmet. That must be Dek's father. I stayed put.
"Ti'dte stak'ta-de k'vamn?" His father asked while towering over him.
"Dak'tra sa'kpe kwei'm." Dek said, taking Tessa's skull off his belt and tossing it at his father's feet.
"Ki'cti-de?" His father countered.
"Dak'ch ya'kcha-té." Dek said, standing his ground. "Da'ki-de h'sa-dte."
"Va'cha'dte jal'dik." Dek's father remained cruel. "Jai'tei Kwei."
Dek growled as two guards came up behind his father.
"Ja'tak'cha." Dek's father ordered the two guards behind him. The guards took out their weapons. One took out an extendable double-ended spear, and the other took out a plasma sword. My body moved on autopilot and turned on my cloak, heading over, far enough to stay out of the way, but close enough in case he was in trouble. Dek extended the blades on the back of his wrist as the two came forward.
The Yautja with a spear in hand aimed to strike Dek in the head. Dek ducked and avoided the strike. He swiped the blade on his hand against the other Yautja holding a plasma sword. the Yautja with a sword was about to swing the sword at him, but Dek plunged his blade into the sword wielder's foot. The sword wielder struck his sword against Dek, cutting his mouth. Dek moved quickly before the spear-wielding Yautja could hit him, and he stabbed the other Yautja. I yanked Dek back with me from the other two to gain some ground. Dek grabbed the sword wielder's spear off his back. The Yautja, using a spear, went to attack Dek, but Bud Dek struck him first. the Yautja with a sword tried to strike Dek, but he moved faster, causing the Yautja to hit the other. Dek stood up, holding the spear sideways, and extended it. The Yautja on either side of him was impaled. One through the mouth, the other in the side of his head. Dek retracted the spear on both sides. Both fell dead.
Dek's father took out his plasma sword. I stayed close to Dek as he and his father charged towards each other. Dek struck first, but his father's height put him at a disadvantage. Dek's father landed a slash to Dek's chest. then another on his face. I couldn't do much, but I could disorientate his father. Making my way behind Dek's father, I slammed into his side and moved quickly away. Dek's spear was split in half. Dek landed a strike, piercing his father's leg with half the spear before getting knocked back. I moved to Dek's side before his father could suspect there was someone else there with Dek.
His father began to rush over, hitting the settings on the arm piece and cloaking himself. Dek charged at his father. I stayed at a distance, knowing Dek would get sent flying. And almost immediately, Dek gets hit and sent flying. I caught him and managed to stop his fall.
"Ki'cti-de?" Dek's father saw this. I dragged my foot back in the dirt, giving Dek a clear indication of how to handle his father. Dek stood and turned, hitting a few buttons on his device, and set off the ship's propulsion system and sent out dust to show his father's location. They charged; this time, Dek had a clear view. He landed a blow on his father's shoulder. He yanked the spear downward from his father's shoulder. He landed on his feet and turned to his father just as he was about to strike Dek. Dek caught his fist with the blade jammed into his fist. Then slashed off his father's arm.
I stood with Dek and turned off the cloak in my new suit. Dek's father searched himself for something with his remaining arm, then looked to Dek. Dek held up a device and gave a slight head tilt. then tossed it down. The device expanded into a rectangular shape and was restrained by red energy. Dek hit a few buttons on the arm piece and shut off his ship. I stayed beside him. Dek held up half of the remaining spear. And in one sharp thrust, he struck the tip in the forehead of his father's mask. Dek pulled away his spear, removing his father's mask, showing where he was struck.
"Dthun'ka-de t'choa'k-de jhi'ctan." Dek's father said. "Da'kcha nau… ti'ktah kwei-dei'n vhok'tei."
I watched them, taking off my helmet and letting my hair fall around my shoulders.
"Dak'tra na'cha," Dek said. His father growled furiously. Before he could say anything, Bud came up behind him and chomped off his head. Thia came up beside her, running her hand on Bud's side with a grin. Dek made his way over to his father's severed arm and picked it up. he hit a few buttons on the device on the severed arm, took off a small device for cloaking, and put the device in his arm piece, tossing aside the severed arm. I looked to him with a smile. Douma came bouncing over, wearing his new body armor.
"Finally earned that cloak," Thia said. Dek picked up a plasma sword as he walked towards her. I followed him. "Dek of the Yautja."
Dek stood straight and grunted, giving a Yautja Smile of victory, and nodded. I smiled at him. Then the other Yautja took out their weapons. Something was wrong.
"What's happening?" I asked, looking around. Then, a ship came into view at a distance. Douma and Bud both growled, looking at it.
"More friends of yours?" Thia asked Dek, I slid my helmet back on, and took out both my sword and gun.
"Nok." Dek said, and flicked his sword out in his left hand. "Da'te-de sa'tei."
Bud and Douma let out a roar, facing the ship.
