Viona's POV
His frown grew deeper, yet his hand still held mine tight.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
I bit my lower lip, holding back my words.
But the gathering crowd recognizing us made me uncomfortable.
"Let's get in the car first," I urged.
Once we were seated and the car rolled down the street, Rafael looked at me, demanding an explanation.
"I don't want to go with you tonight. If you really need to go because of the hospital, you should go alone," I stated with finality.
He sighed heavily, obviously displeased with what I said.
"No. You go with me. And you can choose where to go after that."
"Why can't I choose now? We are just married on paper. So we're basically just a stranger—"
"Do you sleep around easily with strangers?" His question hit me right in the gut.
My face burned. I clenched my fists, holding back the shame.
How could he ask that with such a cool, smug expression, with the same intensity as if asking whether I had eaten breakfast or not?
