Xu Mu downed glass after glass of alcohol, his mood souring as he watched Chai Xiongtai lock the private room door. He already knew exactly what the two inside were planning to do.
Xu Mu's face darkened. Wasn't she supposed to be someone who liked to toy with others—never letting anyone succeed?
Then why wasn't she resisting?
The door was locked—could she really not tell what he was after?
"Damn it!"
Xu Mu slammed his glass against the bar counter, stood up, and strode toward the second floor.
"Brother-in-law! Where are you going?" Ye Yu called, quickly following him.
"Sir, the second floor is for Black Gold Card members only. May I see your card?" a security guard blocked his way politely.
"How do I get one?" Xu Mu asked flatly.
"It requires a minimum spending of ten thousand yuan in our bar," the guard replied with a smile.
"Then tonight, every woman's tab is on me."
Without another word, Xu Mu shoved the guard aside and stormed upstairs, taking several steps at a time.
"Sir!"
The guard rushed after him, but Xu Mu had already reached Feng Yue's private room. With a single punch, he smashed a hole through the door, reached in, and unlatched it from the inside.
Inside, Chai Xiongtai was forcing a glass of wine into Feng Yue's mouth.
When she saw Xu Mu standing at the doorway, she froze—her alluring eyes widening in disbelief.
Then, tears began to fall.
Why… why here, of all places?
She was already in Yang City. How could she still run into him?
That night in the underground garage, she had given her purity to Xu Mu—deciding then and there to abandon innocence and become a woman who would stop at nothing to achieve her goals.
She had confidence in herself. As long as she lowered her pride, she could climb to the top quickly.
Just like the name of this bar—Dark Moon.
Feng Yue had chosen to embrace the darkness.
But why… why was he here again?
Could it be that ever since that night, he had been searching for her?
Impossible. She knew men too well—especially someone like Xu Mu, a straightforward man easy to read.
He approached her not for love, but for her body. That was what she hated most about him.
But even if she had already given herself to him—why was he here again?
"Sir!"
The guard rushed in behind Xu Mu, grabbing his arm. "Sister Yue, I'm sorry—"
"Leave. This doesn't concern you."
Feng Yue wiped her tears with her sleeve, forcing a faint smile.
"Yes, ma'am."
The guard nodded and backed away.
Downstairs, Ye Yu was stopped by another guard. The music was blasting so loud that Xu Mu couldn't hear her calling out.
"You're… Xu Mu?"
Chai Xiongtai frowned at the familiar yet unexpected face.
"That's right."
Xu Mu stepped further inside.
"Brother Xu, you broke my door. I could have you arrested for that."
Feng Yue smiled faintly at him.
Smack!
Xu Mu slapped her hard across the face.
Feng Yue's eyes widened in shock as she covered her cheek, completely stunned.
Even Chai Xiongtai was taken aback. What kind of grudge do these two have?
"Feng Yue, how dare you! You infected me with a disease! How are you going to compensate me?!" Xu Mu roared.
Chai Xiongtai froze, instantly backing away from Feng Yue.
He poured the wine from his own glass over his hands to disinfect them.
So she's a walking biohazard… no wonder she was acting so seductive.
If not for Xu Mu, he might've been doomed tonight.
He even felt the urge to buy Xu Mu dinner—for testing the poison before him.
"Brother Xu, looks like you two have… private matters to settle. I won't interrupt."
Chai Xiongtai muttered a quick curse under his breath—"What rotten luck!"—and hurriedly left.
Feng Yue, however, remained composed. She sat down again and smiled faintly. "Brother Xu, what exactly did I infect you with?"
"You gave me a cold."
Xu Mu calmly closed the door and sat opposite her.
"That's not funny. Do you realize that one careless accusation from you could ruin me?"
Feng Yue's smile vanished. She stared coldly at him.
"I just don't like seeing you with other men." Xu Mu's tone was calm but firm.
[Favorability +20]
"So you've been following me all this time?" Feng Yue said coolly. "Aren't you overstepping? What are you to me?"
"I can be your pillar of support."
Feng Yue's pupils shrank; she quickly averted her gaze.
"When people fall into darkness, they only sink deeper. Feng Yue, I don't want to see you lose yourself." Xu Mu's voice was steady.
"Your words have changed lately," she whispered, tears reddening her eyes. "Xu Mu! You're not like me. You live carefree—while I have my own burdens."
"I envy you, but I'm just a bastard child! My mother was a hotel receptionist. Feng Kang forced himself on her!"
Feng Yue's voice cracked as tears streamed down her face. "Do you know what the Feng family called her? A whore! She died of depression at forty. What did she ever do wrong?"
The memories still burned vividly—her mother, fleeing far away, only to be hunted by the Feng family's agents.
Feng Yue had grown up under constant fear.
She never truly wanted to return to the Feng family. After her mother's death, all she wanted was revenge.
Through her own grit, she opened several stores within a short time.
Feng Kang noticed her potential and lured her back—promising to accept her into the family if she could destroy the Xu family.
She pretended to crave acceptance and agreed.
Her real goal: to seize the Feng family's power and take back what was rightfully hers.
But when the Xu family fell, she realized she would always be an outsider.
Now nearing thirty, her youth was slipping away.
After the weight-loss drug scandal, her plans crumbled completely.
If she didn't act soon—it would be too late.
When Xu Mu saved her, she decided to give him her first night as repayment.
Then she would climb higher—using men like Chai Xiongtai to crush the Fengs.
Who could have guessed that just as she secured a meeting with him, Xu Mu would barge in and ruin everything?
"Work for me. I'll destroy the Feng family for you."
Xu Mu's tone was calm as he stood, extending his hand toward her tear-streaked face.
"Brother Xu, you don't understand," Feng Yue shook her head. "You've lived your life in a greenhouse. You know nothing of the cruelty outside."
"Feng Kang's first wife is dead, but his eldest son is adored—because that wife came from a hidden clan!"
"Hidden clan?" Xu Mu narrowed his eyes. He hadn't expected the Feng family's roots to run that deep.
"That's right," Feng Yue said quietly. "You probably don't even know what that means. Hidden clans have ancient martial artists—they're the unseen rulers of the world. If they're angered, sending just one of them could wipe out the entire Xu family."
Xu Mu slipped one hand into his pocket and waved the other toward the table.
Clang!
A translucent blade of energy burst from his palm like flowing water—
Boom!
The wooden table shattered instantly, and even the floor beneath Feng Yue cracked open into a basketball-sized hole.
"And what could they possibly do… to my Xu family?"
Xu Mu gazed down at her, his expression calm and unshakable.

Feng Yue (covering her face): "Old Moon, we both have 'Yue' in our names—why must you keep slapping mine?"
