Chapter 114 - Chapter 114 – Caught in a Honey Trap

As soon as the woman entered, Xu Mu closed the door behind her.

"Handsome, you can call me Xiaoli. Thank you so much—I've knocked on several doors, but no one was willing to help me."

As she spoke, Xiaoli began rubbing her eyes again.

"It's fine. Just sit down and rest a bit—or better yet, call the police," Xu Mu said, sitting on a chair opposite her.

On the other side, the three women watching the video feed could clearly see everything.

"I don't dare call the police," Xiaoli said tearfully. "He doesn't hit me hard—if he gets locked up, it's only for a few days. When he's out, he'll make me suffer even more."

Ye Yu and Ye Tong exchanged glances—this woman really did seem pitiful.

Both of them recalled their own past experiences but also felt grateful—after Xu Mu came to his senses, he'd treated them well.

Meanwhile, Xu Mu could barely hold back a laugh. Her acting was terrible—not a single tear had fallen since she started "crying."

"Well, then just wait here," Xu Mu said lightly.

"Handsome, you're such a good man. If only I had a boyfriend like you…" Xiaoli said suddenly as she walked closer to him.

"You're too late—I'm married," Xu Mu replied calmly.

"Then why isn't your wife with you?" she asked.

"I'm technically on a business trip, with a bit of sightseeing on the side. She's at home." Xu Mu's expression didn't change.

"Handsome, I really want to thank you. Since your wife's not here, she won't know anyway. Why don't we… have a beautiful encounter?"

Xiaoli suddenly stepped in front of him and reached to take off his shirt. "Consider it my way of repaying you."

Watching this through the video, Ye Yu's face immediately darkened. "Brother-in-law was right! She is a bad person!"

She jumped up, ready to rush over to Xu Mu's room—

but Ye Tong grabbed her arm.

"Stay put. You think your brother-in-law can't control himself?" Ye Tong said calmly, keeping her eyes on the screen.

Ye Yu was still fuming—until Xu Mu's next line made her burst out laughing.

"Are you… for sale?" he asked suddenly.

"If anyone else said that, I'd be mad," Xiaoli pouted. "I'm just grateful to you, that's all. I don't want money."

She fiddled with her phone, tapping a few times before cooing, "Come on, don't tell me you're not a real man?"

"To be honest," Xu Mu said, sitting upright like a proper gentleman, "you're not good enough for me. I can't bring myself to touch you."

He was certain now—this was a honey trap, an upgraded version of the scam.

He extended his senses outward and, sure enough, detected five burly men approaching the hotel.

Barely two minutes later, there was pounding at the door.

"Open up! Open the damn door!"

Xiaoli glanced at Xu Mu—he was still completely composed.

If it had been any of the other men she'd trapped before, they'd already be half-naked by now.

But there was no turning back. She quickly stripped off her own dress—nothing underneath—and opened the door.

"Darling, I was wrong! I shouldn't have gone behind your back! Please forgive me!" she cried dramatically.

Two of the burly men began recording with their phones.

The bald man in the middle—around 190 cm tall and weighing at least 250 pounds—strode forward.

"You bastard! How many lives do you have, huh? You dare sleep with my wife? I'll kill you!"

He pulled a dagger from his belt as he spoke.

"Brother Wolf, let it go," another crew-cut man said, stepping forward as the "mediator." He looked at Xu Mu and continued, "Kid, we'll let you off this time. Give Brother Wolf fifty thousand yuan and we'll call it even."

Xu Mu stayed seated, admiring their lousy performance.

He had to admit, though—the setup was clever.

First, the woman asked for help, looking pitiful but attractive. Then, she'd offer "gratitude" through a seductive approach.

Any lonely middle-aged man, seeing such a forward woman, might not be able to resist.

Once clothes started coming off, she'd text the others to rush over—and then came the threats.

Most hotel guests were travelers, not locals. They wouldn't dare call the police for fear of embarrassment, so they'd just pay quietly.

"Gentlemen," Xu Mu said with a smile, raising his hands, "as you can see, my clothes are perfectly intact. I didn't do anything."

"You didn't take yours off, but you took hers off!" the bald man roared. "Don't wanna pay? Then die!"

At that moment, Meng Wanyue entered the room.

"Well, well, what do we have here—"

Boom!

Before one of the men could finish speaking, Meng Wanyue flashed forward and slammed a punch into his stomach.

"Ugh!"

The man spat out saliva and collapsed, convulsing on the floor.

The others lunged forward to help—

—but within seconds, all five were down.

Xu Mu pointed to the phone camera in his shirt pocket. "Everything's been recorded. You five just tried to extort me for fifty thousand yuan. That's three to ten years in prison."

He pulled out the phone and waved it casually.

"Big brother, we were wrong! Please, let us go! It's our first time doing this!" the bald man stammered, pale with fear. He hadn't expected them to know all along.

And who the hell was this woman?

She looked delicate, but her punch felt like it shattered his insides.

"You think one apology settles it?" Xu Mu said coldly.

"I—I'll give you fifty thousand instead, okay?" The bald man turned to his crew-cut companion.

The man shakily pulled out a backpack and placed fifty thousand yuan in cash on the floor.

"Big brother, we'll leave now."

They helped each other to their feet, wobbling toward the exit.

"Leave everything here—including your phones," Xu Mu ordered coldly. "Did you think the Feng family was something you could mess with?"

"Feng family? From Yang City?" the bald man stammered, panicking.

Everyone in Yang City knew of the Feng family. No wonder this man had such a terrifying bodyguard.

If they offended the Fengs, they could end up floating in the river tomorrow.

"Master Feng! We were wrong—we'll leave everything!"

The bald man signaled his men, and they dropped their belongings before staggering away.

Just then, Ye Tong and Ye Yu rushed in.

"Brother-in-law! Are you okay?" Ye Yu asked anxiously. She hadn't expected Xu Mu to be right—the woman really was a scammer.

Ye Tong also looked a bit guilty. She should've trusted him from the start.

"I'm fine," Xu Mu said with a grin. "But you two are in trouble. Remember our bet—tonight, you'll both have to listen to everything I say."

Ye Tong and Ye Yu blushed furiously and lowered their heads, not daring to meet his eyes.
